*shrug* I'm still using my all steel Fred Bear White-tail compound bow from the 70's, it's noisy as heck even with string silencers but it still works just fine, I just have to anticipate the deer "jumping the string" when I aim on the animal's killzones.

From what I've been reading, it's one (real/imagined/manufactured) excuse away ...

I prefer short-action Rem 700's but the 25-06 will definately get the job done.

Lots of disturbing chatter on the mainstream "black facebook forums" as well, there are tens of thousands of members of one of the BFBF (black facebook forums) that I regularly read, and unfortunately the black power fad seems to be becoming back into fashion.

Welp those are great shotguns, depends on what you're into I suppose, I like both LC9's & Mossberg 500's so personally I'd keep my LC9 & just buy a 500. But if you don't care for your LC9 & want the 500TT I say go for it.

Cheap .22LR bolt action, I wouldn't invest a great rifle into a 22 year old who isn't all that interested & may just put the rifle in a closet for 20+ years before they eventually decide to garage sale it for $50

I've got several DI & several piston guns, I personally prefer my DI guns but each to their own I guess. I just "run them wet" with an occasional squirt of CLP & they'll run until either A.) The weapon becomes to hot to handle. Or B.) I'm out of ammo, sometimes it takes me several hours to run out of ammo. Or C.) A combination of both A.) & B.) Happens.

Gotcha, yea it's a heck of a long-distance round, more energy @ 800+ than the .308 but it isn't going to be fun to shoot, you'll have to be real careful not to let it cause you to start flinching when you touch them off. Seriously, I'm not recoil sensitive at all but when I squeeze on a big magnum rifle round I have to really concentrate on being relaxed the whole way through because even a hardened shooter will automatically want/start to tense up the instant their finger feels the sear start to break. Just remember to breath deep, focus on your sight picture and heart beat, don't even think about taking the shot, just let it happen & you'll be able to keep from flinching. Good luck man, looking forward to reading your range reports.

Australian shot in Oklahoma by bored teens
RichardR replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I believe that some Taurus Raging Bull's are/were offered chambered in .22 Hornet, but that would not generally be a combination used by "at risk youths" due to the large size of the revolvers & the rarity of the cartridge. So either .22LR or possibly even .22WRM would be my guess. -
I love Rem 700's, they've always been real good to me, but I have to ask ... why chambered in .300 Winmag? Any particular purpose in mind or is this a case of "just because"? (Nothing wrong w/just because mind you, I have a couple "just because" myself).

I concure completely, well said TMF.

I'm bugging in, but if forced my main bugout vehicle is my boat, once displaced from my home & out on the water I'll hoist Mr. Roger until then I intend to keep a very low profile.

This will be fun to watch. Christopher Lane Murder

Well if the Austrailians really want to help reduce the gun violence in this country, why don't they invite all of America's "at risk youths" to come live in Austrialia where those "at risk youths" will be safe from all of the evil American firearms? -
I never get stopped. But that's just because my truck's brakes don't work.

They won't allow me to serve on any juries anymore. Seems they don't like constant high-fiving & shouts of boooooyaahhh! Interupting the court proceedings *shrug*.

Discovery "You can get an STD from your dog". (not that way)
RichardR replied to a topic in General Chat
Looks like it's extremely rare, at least in this country, thanks for the heads up though Tanker but at 2 cases per year I'm guessing that I'm more likely to be struck by a bus & lightning at the exact same time. Now I don't know about you folks, but one of the greatest joys in this world IMHO is "puppy kisses" I don't think they are gross or sick at all, not unless the owner is actually french kissing the dog ... Then again between myself & all of my kids we've kept all sorts of lizards, frogs, toads, snakes, turtles, aligators, chickens, ferrets, rabbits, parrots, etc all of which can pass salmonila &/or other infectious diseases if not handled properly. I do have to admit to being somewhat scared of feline aids after reading an article on it, when we took in a stray & starving preg female cat over the winter & I was forced to help deliver one of the kittens who had gotten stuck & she couldn't push out. I wore latex gloves during the delivery but I still washed & washed, used hand sanitizer, washed some more, more sanitizer, etc, all because I read a news article about feline aids LOL. Didn't know about goat herpies though .... think I should go get checked out? :) -
I actually like all of the wolf spiders around here, they keep the population of all of the widows & recluses in check.

I've been riding a 29" Mongoose mountain bike for the last 5 years or so, can't recall the model but it's big & indestructable, smooth shifting & easy riding, takes the trails like a BOSS man, has some pretty sweet high-end components on it, like grip shifters, dual-disk brakes, etc, I haven't needed to change anything except for the hard-plastic stock seat. Because of my spinal injuries I needed to swap out the seat for a soft foam gel "tractor style" seat, which makes it possible to ride it all day without being in agony, even on the rougher off-road trails it doesn't hurt me. Here is a photo of it .. Duh! Sorry wrong picture, here is the Mongoose ....

Congrats on the new fur-baby man! She looks like she's made herself right at home already! We just rescued one the other day, they said her momma was a black-lab, but didn't know what breed the dady was, doesn't matter much to me, I can train just bout any breed of dog, some breeds just have better instinctive traits than others. Anyway here are a couple pic's of our newest addition .... her name is Quintessence, or "Tessie" for short, I'm guessing 5 1/2 weeks old, she was probably weened a bit to early but it is what it is, local pound is full & the owner was desperate. Potty training is going real good so far, she's still really young but she's very bright & eager to please, so I'm guessing she'll be a cake-walk to train, especially since Bear can help by leading by example, I swear he's the absolute best dog I've ever owned & I've owned a lot of really great dogs, so that's really saying something ... he was also a pound rescue btw, all of my animals I've ever owned have been rescues. Here is a photo of my bestest buddy Bear ... Sorry for the thread jack man, I just love my fur-kids.

I have owned a RRA 20" A2, in the standard service rifle configuration for 15 or 16 years now, it's been a darn good rifle, very accurate & ultra-reliable, I used for high-power matches. I'm guessing the varminter version would be just as good, my RRA is a top-tier shooter, even shoots tighter than my Colt HBAR, anyway I've never owned any Mossberg MMR's though, so can't help you there.

Calling all wood cutters, loggers and chainsaw enthusiasts
RichardR replied to Spots's topic in General Chat
Very impressive Spots, seriously I'm kind of depressed that you're on the other side of the state, I'd really like to be your neighbor man! Is there any land for sale near ya? LOL, I'd hate leaving the Hatchie & Mississippi rivers behind but I could seriously get into some pioneer mountaineering, I have got to have a decently sized fresh-water source nearby though, I'm always going to be a river-rat at heart. -
I'd probably suggest a Rem 700 chambered in .243 Winchester, it is a great rifle, chambered in a great little round. More thump than .223, flatter shooting than .30-30, it is easy on the shoulder, widely availible, easy to reload, it is really hard not to like it.

Jwk, I don't see the point in trying to salvage the thread, as per the OP his question was only hypothetical & would have had no bearing on any decisions he was planning on making on either his load-out or future purchases. Essentially he is just wasting everyone's time for no real apparent reason other than just because he could. Limited entertainment value aside, I personally see no further purpose to trying to answer his questions.

Meh I'd keep the MOE stuff on there myself, I prefer it to "rails" not only because its lighter but it also doesn't want to snag on everything.
