Merry Christmas...and thanks to whoever is making it possible. -
Yes, that is a very good article. Thanks for posting.

My ideas on protecting the 2nd Amendment
i1afli replied to Pete123's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
A lot of good points...I can't say that I disagree with any of them, but they will fall on deaf ears. The politicians just want our guns, they aren't concerned about inner city crime. -
The cop was wise to put that distance between himself and the thug...I guess that's what they are trained to do because he immediately established distance when the thug pulled the knife.

Not only did a Thunderbird and Blue Angel both crash today, but it was also the No. 6 plane in both cases...amazing coincidence. And yes, a raised glass is in order.

You probably already have your answer, but just in case (per my online subscription, which is supposed to be current values): 100%: $1006 95%: $633 90%: $546 i hope this helps

TWRA Area Use -- Mainly about Riding in the Areas (MC Ride)
i1afli replied to a topic in Hunting and Fishing
Lots of good info here...thanks. It also demonstrates how it often depends upon the particular authority person's beliefs regarding the rules as to whether you'll get hassled. I assume MC means motorcycle? -
Ammunition is the next target of Kalifornia
i1afli replied to Randall53's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
"He suggested it is strange that a person has to show ID to buy cold medicine but not ammunition." So let's use one stupid law to justify another. -
Talking to a student about upgrading a firearm

+1 To say that she needs a better gun will probably be taken as an insult by her husband, possibly causing him to defend his decision, establishing a position that he will stick to in order to save face in front of his wife. Let them decide that she needs a better gun. -
Hoods Handyman Service did some work for me that included excavation, concrete, block, and brick work...they do carpentry also...I'd use them again. They get pretty good reviews on AngiesList.

Any retailers near Knoxville selling primers?
i1afli replied to RAJBCPA's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
The Gander Mountain in Turkey Creek has a cabinet labeled "Primers", but I don't reload so I've never looked inside of it. Was there as recently as last week (2/28/16). -
Welcome back. You've come to the right place...both geographically and informationally.

I wonder why so many of them are missing their grips?

The stock market is legalized gambling whereas paying down your mortgage is a guaranteed 3% - 5% (depending upon your interest rate and whether you itemize your taxes) return...you can't get that kind of return on any savings account. There's also a financial peace associated with having your house paid off.

She did a great job. I wonder if her repeating "home of the brave" at the end was planned or if she did it to sync with the flyover? Either way, it was a great finish.

Interesting...thanks for posting.

Smokey Mtn Gun Collectors Show - Knoxville
i1afli replied to bucnball's topic in Events and Gatherings
+1 I've never seen so many $3000 Winchester lever actions and $2500 Colt 1911's in one place. I beleive a lot of the people at this show treat it more like an opportunity to show off their collection than to sell stuff. -
Love those hi powers!

Knox Gun Show Still On For This Weekend?
i1afli replied to NextExit's topic in Events and Gatherings
Was real slow there today (Sun.), but there was excitement when some idiot threw some type of explosive device out of a car driving around the far side of the pond...sounded like tannerite going off..it shook the ground...was definitely bigger than any store-bought firecracker. I was standing outside. People came out of the building to see what it was. -
Man arrested for having firearm at Plainfield High School
i1afli replied to FortKnox's topic in General Chat
The media giving credence to these types of questions/comments are exactly what leads administrations to implement Intrusive policies. No administrator wants a camera or microphone stuck in their face and, with the benefit of hindsight, asked why they didn't do more. -
No way they'll be able to stay in that typical suburban house...they'll need acreage if they want to step out into the yard and they'll need fence/gates/security to keep the crazies off of their front porch. The fact that they don't realize this is a testament to their naivety and lack of competent counsel. Edit: Actually, without knowing the whole story, it could be unfair to call their counsel incompetent...he may have been pleading with them not to go public but they insisted on their 15 minutes of fame and were going to do it with or without him,
-
And you're not hearing anything about these attacks in the mainstream media...doesn't fit their agenda.

+1 Thinking the same for my teenagers...I've seen too many parties in the neighborhood when parents were away. I'll be exploring these suggestions.

Pending Gun EO Chatter, Update See Post #114
i1afli replied to runco's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Any smart technology would require a battery to power the intelligence, so you'd have to make sure that you have a charged battery before you could fire it. Like my emergency flashlights that sit around for months, if not years, before I need them, the battery would certainly be dead when I need it.
