  1. The husband and wife were feeding off of each other’s bravado. When the husband first walked back to their house the wife went back to shoveling the sidewalk, but then the husband decided to give the neighbor another dose of bravado, which he very well may not have done if his wife wasn’t present, and the wife stopped shoveling and went with him. The husband and wife both felt invincible based upon the other’s actions, or neither wanted to back down in front of the other. The neighbor finally snapped from the demeaning verbal assaults and threats from the husband as the husband was a BIG boy that could dish it out. The adult equivalent of the meek child that feels all alone against the playground bully that keeps taking his lunch money until he finally snaps and hits the bully in the head with a big rock.
  2. Yeah, she’s definitely putting herself out there and making a statement...we need more like her. Something else in the article that I found interesting was the statement “As members mulled a firearms ban during committee hearings...”, why would members of the House Natural Resources committee being mulling a gun ban? Although I guess every committee in Washington with Democrats on it is probably mulling gun bans.
  3. Nice little .32. And the heirloom connection makes it even more special.
  4. Day-um! Yep, “monster” pretty much describes it. I bet that was fun. Congrats!
  5. Randall (OP), I don’t know where you’re located in E. Tn. but it’s hard to beat ORSA for value and amenities.

The difference is that the Polish ladies will actually let you know when they see something happening on you property.
  7. It’s an indication of what the New World Order (globalization) is going to demand. Now that the Democrats and liberal media have demonized nationalism (doing what’s best for America) this is where the new administration will be taking us.
  8. If this happens then taxes, licensing/permit requirements, waiting periods, no mail order....effectively won’t be able to buy it at any price.
  9. Wow, that’s interesting. Never would have expected one of these classes to include shooting from your own car. Sounds like a great way to make a “dry run” of what it may be like. Thanks.
  10. Maybe her insurance wouldn’t cover the restorative surgery and physical therapy so the most cost effective approach for the hospital was amputation. Whats the old saying?...tell a surgeon he can amputate and he’ll spend the night before the surgery sharpening his best saw, but tell him amputation is not an option and he’ll spend it sharpening his best scalpel.
  11. The result of a 20-yr crusade by the anti-gunners and media to demonize firearms and those who own them. Their plan is coming together.
  12. Please tell us what you see.
  13. Like when discussing what may be wrong with the wife’s car a husband’s opinion doesn’t stand a chance against that of a man with his name on a patch on his coveralls.
  14. +1 The target retirement funds are a great idea...someone should have thought of them decades ago. Automatically reallocates based upon how aggressive you want to be. Want to be conservative? Pick a close-in target date like 2030. Want to be aggressive? Pick a far-out target date like 2060. I use a mix of both. My MIL uses EJ. She likes them because they provide a free lunch once a month at a presentation where they encourage her to churn her account, generating commissions for EJ. But if shes’s happy then my wife is happy and we all know that is priceless.
  15. Nice Orient. I’m watch guy myself. Took up watchmaking as a hobby a few years ago and now spend most of my spare time collecting, repairing, and selling vintage watches, primarily Longines, Omega, Seiko, and Rolex. A hobby that typically pays for itself plus some.
  16. Perhaps from the same movie as this. She could sure strike a pose with a gun.
  17. Looks like 32-20. Could be correct.
  18. Looks like some people took the time to grab their carry-on belongings while people in the back of the plane were starting to cook. That surely held up the line inside and it definitely made them slower coming out the door because their hands were full.
  19. Cuomo was ranting on the news tonight because New Yorkers were disobeying his orders and strolling around parks in NYC...said more drastic measures may be necessary to get these people to obey. The Shepard doesn’t like it when the sheep don’t follow orders.
  20. Remember that rubbery taste? The youth of today wont have that memory.
  21. The question doesn’t seem to be whether he’s better off with guns or a boat but rather how best to pay for the boat. Best case would be to pay cash for the boat, but if that’s not an option then I’d trade guns that would otherwise be collecting dust before I’d take out a loan to buy the boat.
  22. I live about 15 minutes from this auction site and have been there numerous times to inspect stuff. The long guns are out on racks and you can freely pick them up and inspect them to your heart’s content and even take photos if you wish. The handguns are in glass cases but there is someone there to get them out for you to inspect, just like a gun store.
  23. I’ve bought a few things from these Powell auctions and got some decent deals. And you’re right about the descriptions as they typically make absolutely no effort to describe these. My impression is that modern black guns seem to go too high but deals can be found on vintage guns.
  24. You can download fillable pdf forms from the CMP website and pre-fill them out and take them with you, but I don’t think they will approve anything until you buy something, but I may be wrong. The most difficult requirements for most people to meet are the live-fire training (can be met with CC permit or hunting license that requires live fire) and the associated club membership (ORSA or Garand Collecters Association will meet that)...you can join GCA online, print the receipt and take it with you. Just be sure to doublecheck the paperwork requirements and take it all with you...along with a lot of money or a credit card with plenty of “room” on it.
  25. Selection has been really good lately, and yes it’s worth the trip. GO!
