i1afli replied to TennesseeCamper's topic in General Chat
Not sure I’ve seen this before regarding other live ammo fund on the set. How the hell did these rounds end up scattered around the set? -
Nashville Armory has new policy of collecting customer ID Info

Absolutely none. -
I can’t directly answer your question, but when I tried to buy locally several years ago the local gold shops wanted quite a premium over what I could get online. I ended up purchasing gold and silver from apmex.com and had no problems. Can’t beat the selection.

You could consign them to an auction house. They’ll come to your house and pick them up, photograph and describe them, handle sales, shipping and background checks, and present you with a check when all is said and done. Of course they’ll take a chunk of the money (30%?) but it’s the quickest/easiest way for you. Powell Auction does a lot of them around the Knoxville area.

Assault weapons ban passed in House of Representatives
i1afli replied to The Legion's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Since possession will be illegal unless the firearm is grandfathered, you’ll need a way to prove that the firearm you’re in possession of is grandfathered. And how will you do that? I guarantee that you’ll be required to register or somehow obtain a permit for your grandfathered firearms…it’s the only way to implement it. -
Great rifle and great story. Thanks for sharing.

Good looking watch. A new NH35 movement alone costs about $50. I use them to replace the 7S26 movement when a 7S26 needs service…cheaper to upgrade to an NH35 than service a 7S26. Wear and enjoy.

Great looking Garand. I believe the 473k serial no. dates it to Feb. ‘42. Nice!

The car in the back has “CELIA” written on it… wonder if this may be a parade featuring Celia Cruz, a popular Cuban singer in the 1950s before she came to America. Possibly her driving the car? Wiki says “…revealed from partially declassified US State Department papers that Cruz had been linked to Cuba's pre-Revolution communist party, the Popular Socialist Party (PSP), as early as the 1940s.[14] The article, promoted as an "exclusive", was written by Miami Herald journalist Carol Rosenberg from Freedom of Information Act requests. It made several revelations. Among them, that the US Embassy in Havana denied Cruz a US visa in 1952 and 1955 because of suspected communist affiliations. The article also states that Cruz had joined the youth wing of the PSP at age 20 and had used a concert to arrange a secret meeting with communists in South America on behalf of its then general secretary, Blas Roca Calderío, who was also founded the party in 1925. Cruz had also signed a public letter in support of one of the Party's front groups, the Pro-Peace Congress. The article states that Cruz's surviving husband, Pedro Knight, was asked about this, and is quoted he knew nothing about it. "She never told me about that. She never talked about politics," the article quotes Knight. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celia_Cruz

Aahhhhh. I love the Ronnettes stuff that was produced by Phil Spector, like Be My Baby. And their Christmas songs.

Yeah, happens every few years in our neighborhood. Someone drives a car slowly while another person checks for unlocked doors on cars parked along the curb or in driveways. They don’t break windows or anything, just getting in cars that are unlocked. They’re often seen on security cameras, and dark hoodies are the concealment of choice.

My side gig is repairing/restoring vintage watches, primarily automatics, with a few excursions into quartz watches. The G-Shocks are great, reliable watches with a real hardcore following. This is a photo of an early 1980’s Heuer diver before Heuer, a watch company dating back to the late 1800’s, was acquired by Tag and rebranded/marketed worldwide as Tag Heuer

Sounds like good times, and you’re teaching them important lessons while creating great memories for them.

Shelter, food, and 20 acres to roam? She definitely came to the right place.

Not sure what’s going on here but that’s an odd grip he has on that M16. And we’re not far from that here, at least in principle.

+1 for Mike at Law Enforcement Sales -
I consigned a few guns to local dealers (all closed now) and was happy with the process. My philosophy was that as soon as I handed it over to the dealer I was never going to see it again and did not worry about customers handling it or possibly damaging it.
