  1. Looking forward to some photos and a range report.
  2. Waiting for it in Knoxville. Supposed to start snowing here about 1:00 am tomorrow (Sat.).
  3. Aahhhhh. I love the Ronnettes stuff that was produced by Phil Spector, like Be My Baby. And their Christmas songs.
  4. Yeah, happens every few years in our neighborhood. Someone drives a car slowly while another person checks for unlocked doors on cars parked along the curb or in driveways. They don’t break windows or anything, just getting in cars that are unlocked. They’re often seen on security cameras, and dark hoodies are the concealment of choice.
  5. My side gig is repairing/restoring vintage watches, primarily automatics, with a few excursions into quartz watches. The G-Shocks are great, reliable watches with a real hardcore following. This is a photo of an early 1980’s Heuer diver before Heuer, a watch company dating back to the late 1800’s, was acquired by Tag and rebranded/marketed worldwide as Tag Heuer
  6. I think it’s reasonable that the shooter may have believed that he was about to be picked up and body-slammed to the ground.
  7. Sounds like good times, and you’re teaching them important lessons while creating great memories for them.
  8. Shelter, food, and 20 acres to roam? She definitely came to the right place.
  9. Not sure what’s going on here but that’s an odd grip he has on that M16. And we’re not far from that here, at least in principle.
  10. +1 for Mike at Law Enforcement Sales
  11. I consigned a few guns to local dealers (all closed now) and was happy with the process. My philosophy was that as soon as I handed it over to the dealer I was never going to see it again and did not worry about customers handling it or possibly damaging it.
  12. Sad to hear this. Love his “Old Dogs and Children” song. “The bartender was watching Ironsides on tv”…that line is lost on anyone younger than the age of about 50. I believe it was based on a real experience that he had. Heard him on a radio interview a few years ago and he had a lot of interesting stories.
  13. Prayers. Was he on TGO?
  14. If you’re dropping them into a flashlight then you’ll need the button tops else they won’t make contact with each other. The flat tops are designed for soldiering connectors onto. The 18650’s are 3.6v each, compared to 1.5v for alkalines, so a flashlight with a couple of 18650’s puts out a hell of a beam. The only thing I don’t like about the rechargeable lithium batteries is they give you no warning before shutting off at the low voltage limit…no gradual dimming like other batteries.
  15. I had to stop reading the article…my blood pressure was getting too high.
  16. I paid $90 for a Rohm 10 .22 at a gun show around 2010 or so. I had never heard of them. It never failed to fire but it did shave lead that you could feel hitting your hand. That was the first time I experienced that and it took me a while to figure out what was going on. Sold it to another unfortunate soul for the same amount ($90) a couple of years later. Felt lucky about it.
  17. Different brand but these are similar to what I had installed. I was concerned that anything added to catch the water would also catch leaves, etc., and I’d be right back where I started.
  18. I installed the flat aluminum perforated guards about 3 years ago and they work well except in locations on my house where a high water velocity coming down the roof will wash right over the guard without going into the gutter. These are places where the roof is steep or where a downspout from a dormer or higher section of roof empties onto a lower roof. And I have the larger (6” or 8”, I don’t remember) gutters. In those locations I went back to the wire guards like in your photo. And I’m in W. Knox as well and used All About Gutters and was happy with them. You can Google them.
  19. Went out at lunch today (5/11) and the station down the street was out of regular unleaded...had only premium. Pumps were busy. And it’s just Tuesday.
  20. Welcome to w. Knoxville. You’ll love it here.
  21. That bear’s not a very good hunter...it just kept grabbing the back of the boar’s neck. A big cat would have gone right for the throat and choked him out.
  22. You’re right...already happening. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/obama-georgia-shootings-push-gun-control
  23. Any of you hi-power folks remove the mag safety, a common mod., to improve trigger feel? (And I hope this isn’t considered a thread hi-jack...the OP is, in his own words, looking for an education on the Hi-Power).
  24. BP, thanks for following up and letting us know what you ended up doing.
