  1. Anybody know if Law Enforcement Sales is still in business? Website is shut down, Facebook not updated, can’t reach by phone, unable to message on here. Mike did great work, would like to use him again.
  2. Edit: Disregard below. I just remembered that the LCR is a Ruger, not Taurus. I went through this with Taurus a few years ago. They determined my .38 LCR was unrepairable and gave me a choice of any LCR in their catalog, but I didn’t have to order it from their website, I just told the nice girl on the phone which one I wanted. Since it wasn’t the same gun I sent to them, they had to send the new one to an FFL, couldn’t send it directly to me.
  3. Cool. Can’t wait to see what it looks like when you get it on deck.
  4. Great way to celebrate. Congrats!
  5. Yep, same here.
  6. I guess I’m not clear on exactly what you’re looking for. Are you looking for a ww1/ww2 USGI Colt? Or a later model with usgi sights?
  7. Gavin Newsome wants a new constitutional amendment with a bunch of gun control laws. But don’t worry, it doesn’t affect our 2A rights. https://www.politico.com/news/2023/06/08/newsom-gun-control-amendment-00100954
  8. I used the PetSafe Stay & Play Wireless fence for many years. Worked well. No wire to bury. A base station broadcasts a wireless signal and the collar doesn’t shock as long as the dog stays within its range. You can adjust the range. It broadcasts a 365 degree signal so you can’t define the area as well as with a buried wire system.
  9. Went by my local Publix the other day and saw no Nashville Hot Chicken, so I called them today (connected to the deli dept.) and asked if they had it and they said yes but it sells out fast when they put it in the case. They said I could order some and they’ll make it, be ready in about 30 minutes. So I gave them my name, and when I arrived about 45 minutes later they were waiting for me at the “Pick Up” counter at the front of the store. They don’t always have bone-in or wings available but it sounds like they can do boneless tenders whenever you want them. They’re great but be warned it ain’t cheap…12 tenders were $30, but they are pretty big. Thanks to @Will for sharing this discovery.
  10. You can get good deals on bedroom suites and dining room furniture at estate sales, especially the ones at the McMansions.
  11. Some folks might like to know that the serial number on the receiver dates the receiver to Feb., 1942. Beautiful rifle.
  12. Not sure I’ve seen this before regarding other live ammo fund on the set. How the hell did these rounds end up scattered around the set?
  13. I can’t directly answer your question, but when I tried to buy locally several years ago the local gold shops wanted quite a premium over what I could get online. I ended up purchasing gold and silver from apmex.com and had no problems. Can’t beat the selection.
  14. You could consign them to an auction house. They’ll come to your house and pick them up, photograph and describe them, handle sales, shipping and background checks, and present you with a check when all is said and done. Of course they’ll take a chunk of the money (30%?) but it’s the quickest/easiest way for you. Powell Auction does a lot of them around the Knoxville area.
  15. This is why the Government wants to get rid of cash…so they’ll have a paper trail of all your purchases. https://www.foxbusiness.com/retail/new-york-city-officials-urge-credit-card-companies-track-gun-ammo-sales-flag-suspicious-sales
  16. Since possession will be illegal unless the firearm is grandfathered, you’ll need a way to prove that the firearm you’re in possession of is grandfathered. And how will you do that? I guarantee that you’ll be required to register or somehow obtain a permit for your grandfathered firearms…it’s the only way to implement it.
  17. Great rifle and great story. Thanks for sharing.
  18. Good looking watch. A new NH35 movement alone costs about $50. I use them to replace the 7S26 movement when a 7S26 needs service…cheaper to upgrade to an NH35 than service a 7S26. Wear and enjoy.
  19. Great looking Garand. I believe the 473k serial no. dates it to Feb. ‘42. Nice!
  20. The car in the back has “CELIA” written on it… wonder if this may be a parade featuring Celia Cruz, a popular Cuban singer in the 1950s before she came to America. Possibly her driving the car? Wiki says “…revealed from partially declassified US State Department papers that Cruz had been linked to Cuba's pre-Revolution communist party, the Popular Socialist Party (PSP), as early as the 1940s.[14] The article, promoted as an "exclusive", was written by Miami Herald journalist Carol Rosenberg from Freedom of Information Act requests. It made several revelations. Among them, that the US Embassy in Havana denied Cruz a US visa in 1952 and 1955 because of suspected communist affiliations. The article also states that Cruz had joined the youth wing of the PSP at age 20 and had used a concert to arrange a secret meeting with communists in South America on behalf of its then general secretary, Blas Roca Calderío, who was also founded the party in 1925. Cruz had also signed a public letter in support of one of the Party's front groups, the Pro-Peace Congress. The article states that Cruz's surviving husband, Pedro Knight, was asked about this, and is quoted he knew nothing about it. "She never told me about that. She never talked about politics," the article quotes Knight. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celia_Cruz
  21. Sharon Stone, The Quick and the Dead? Not sure about the others.
  22. Welcome to TGO. Will be interesting to hear your take on issues.
