Welcome to the south! -
Can't beat ORSA for bang-for-the buck. There are enough ranges at ORSA so there is always somewhere to shoot ...you can always find room on the plinking range or the benchrest range or the competition range, but there are caliber restrictions on some of them so you just need to take a few different guns with you to make sure that you'll have something that you can shoot on any range. I've been a member for 3 yrs and have never had to wait on a shooting position out there, but i typically go on weekday afternoons...probably more crowded on weekends. You can come and go as you please during daylight hours...don't have to check-in with anyone except maybe on the skeet and indoor pistol ranges (indoor pistol range is not always open). They are raising the rate in 2016...to $140 or $150 its seems...can't remember exactly.

True dat. Plus, market-driven prices will fall when the market demands it whereas taxes never go down.

Please do not even think about refinishing anything on that historic rifle. -

Looks like well-worn original bluing, as opposed to the parkerization that was typically applied during post-war refurbishment of these rifles. -

Nice! The Dept of the Army flaming bomb was cool...wouldn't see anything like that today. Like the cartouche stamps on the side of the wooden stocks. Almost 100 yrs old. Thanks for sharing. -
Theatrical overreactions...definitely staged.

I'm one...but haven't received anything from JD in years. They used to send out stuff almost yearly it seemed.

Woo-Hoo...awesome! Great Christmas present. Thanks. -
This. I have cash "gun money" that I fund with a little cash out of each paycheck, and once I get the purchase into the safe I'm home free.

And the fact that she gets airtime to voice her selfish opinion is one of the problems in this country. -

Good news. Thanks for posting. -
Not sure exactly, but on ours the transmitter strength (range) is adjustable from 0 - 8. Our transmitter sits inside the house next to a back window on the East side of the house, is set on 5, and provides about 40' of range across the back yard. This also provides about 10' of range on the North side of the house, about 6' on the West side, and just a few feet on part of the South side, so the dog can walk a little more than 3/4 of the way around the house.
-
We use a Petsafe wireless system...the kind uses a transmitter to broadcast a wireless signal so you don't have a buried wire. It works great but there is a drawback to consider...the dog can go anywhere within the range of the transmitter, and since it transmits a 360 degree field the dog may be able to go all the way around your house if the transmitter is sitting in your house. You can't contain the dog to just a portion of the yard.

Pending Gun EO Chatter, Update See Post #114
i1afli replied to runco's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Universal background checks (UBC) is just a stepping stone to registration. The only way to make sure that people aren't transferring without background checks is to have an auditable inventory for everyone...that's what they'll say after UBC is law. -
I called them to see if they had in stock the tire that I wanted. They didn't have it in stock so the guy offered me a more expensive version of the same brand for the price of the cheaper tire...that and the fast service when I got there sold me on them.

I had no idea. I'll definitely check it out. -
Something doesn't look right about the picture. That's easily a 200 lb animal and he's holding it out in front of his body way too easily.

I had a Rough Rider for awhile but got frustrated with the finicky dropout cylinder...had a hard time getting the pin in and out, so I sold it and found a .22 with a swing out cylinder.

Dude got caught with his gun out-of-hand...its laying in the other chair. I bet he was debating reaching for it.

Woe be unto you if you give Frontier Firearms negative feedback
i1afli replied to East_TN_Patriot's topic in General Chat
I've stopped going to Frontier due to their lack of used guns and the attitude. I went in there looking for .22 WRF ammo for my old Winchester 1890. They didn't have any and they started loudly teasing me...laughing and saying things like "they don't even make that anymore" and "good luck finding any of that". So I gave up on trying to support their local business and I've ordered all of the WRF I want online from Cabelas and had it shipped right to my door.
