  1. Good news. Thanks for posting.
  2. Not sure exactly, but on ours the transmitter strength (range) is adjustable from 0 - 8. Our transmitter sits inside the house next to a back window on the East side of the house, is set on 5, and provides about 40' of range across the back yard. This also provides about 10' of range on the North side of the house, about 6' on the West side, and just a few feet on part of the South side, so the dog can walk a little more than 3/4 of the way around the house.
  3. We use a Petsafe wireless system...the kind uses a transmitter to broadcast a wireless signal so you don't have a buried wire. It works great but there is a drawback to consider...the dog can go anywhere within the range of the transmitter, and since it transmits a 360 degree field the dog may be able to go all the way around your house if the transmitter is sitting in your house. You can't contain the dog to just a portion of the yard.
  4. Merry Christmas!
  5. Universal background checks (UBC) is just a stepping stone to registration. The only way to make sure that people aren't transferring without background checks is to have an auditable inventory for everyone...that's what they'll say after UBC is law.
  6. I called them to see if they had in stock the tire that I wanted. They didn't have it in stock so the guy offered me a more expensive version of the same brand for the price of the cheaper tire...that and the fast service when I got there sold me on them.
  7. I had no idea. I'll definitely check it out.
  8. Something doesn't look right about the picture. That's easily a 200 lb animal and he's holding it out in front of his body way too easily.
  9. I had a Rough Rider for awhile but got frustrated with the finicky dropout cylinder...had a hard time getting the pin in and out, so I sold it and found a .22 with a swing out cylinder.
  10. Dude got caught with his gun out-of-hand...its laying in the other chair. I bet he was debating reaching for it.
  11. I've stopped going to Frontier due to their lack of used guns and the attitude. I went in there looking for .22 WRF ammo for my old Winchester 1890. They didn't have any and they started loudly teasing me...laughing and saying things like "they don't even make that anymore" and "good luck finding any of that". So I gave up on trying to support their local business and I've ordered all of the WRF I want online from Cabelas and had it shipped right to my door.
  12. Been using this one for about two years and love it. The remote allows u to check and adjust the temperature from inside the house. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Masterbuilt-30-Electric-Smoker-with-Window/16328755
  13. I received mine. Order two cans and they'll come in a genuine surplus wooden ammo crate.
  14. In Knoxville, if you want anything old, you have to scour pawn shops as the local gun shops are almost exclusively modern black plastic guns. We have nothing like Franklin Gunshop...probably a good thing as I'd be broke.
  15. Nice! I have one that is worn down practically to silver finish and the writing on it is barely legible but it still performs flawlessly.
  16. Check pawn shops.
  17. My 15 yr old son introduced me to this phrase about 6 months ago...he thinks it's the coolest thing.
  18. The problem with a college campus is that it's not always clear when you're "on campus". I'm not even sure what that means. Thanks for the info.
  19. And when you cancel your Comcast service and don't return "their" modem (because you don't have one), they will send you a bill for $100 for "their" modem (that you don't have) and when you refuse to pay for "their" modem (that you don't have) they will turn "the matter" over to a collection agency that will call you several times a day saying that you owe $100 for "their" modem (which you don't have) and that your credit rating is about to be ruined due to failure to return "their" equipment (which you dont have). This is what they did to me.
  20. Personal Defense Options, located at G&A Equipment off of Watt Road in W. Knox has some M44 Mosins.
  21. And that will start a whole new adventure that will make you hate them even more.
  22. This seems to be a growing trend...let the public vote on controversial issues like alcohol sales, abortion, gambling, public pensions...the list goes on. The whole idea behind the 3 branches of government to provide a balance of power is to prevent the will of the majority from infringing upon the rights of the minority. This is completely negated when rights are put up for vote...after all it's the "will of the people".
  23. Just go...you'll find something. Today (10/23) they had Service, Field, and Rack Grade Garands in the store...including Winchesters which you don't find there very often.
  24. If mail ordering i'd go with Service Grade...you're guaranteed a nice rifle. But since you're in Chattanooga you really should drive down to Anniston and handpick your rifle.  They've been having some Field Grades lately and you can sometimes find them close to Service Grade quality.  The Field Grades are also a little more likely to have original WWII barrels and/or stocks...they may not be as pretty but will still shoot just fine for plinking and informal target shooting. I really like looking through the Rack Grades when they have them...talk about guns with a been-there-done-that patina....love'em. But whatever you do, just GET DOWN THERE NOW!
