  4. Found this on another forum. In his book "Gunshot Wounds" Vincent Di Maio describes various experiments where ammunition was heated in ovens. He says that .22 long rifle cartridges detonate at an average of 275F, .38 Special at 290F and 12 gauge shotgun shells at 387F. The interesting thing about these furnace experiments was that in all instances the cartridge cases ruptured, but the primers did not detonate. In fact the primers were removed from some of the ruptured cases, reloaded into other brass and fired.
  5. If I am not mistaken the flash point for loaded ammo is around 400 degres. Give or take.

  10. All I know is the new classifieds have saved me alot of money. About the only thing I look at is new posts, therefore I never see anything for sale anymore. I did & have bought alot of things from posting on this site & as of right now I have looked at the classified section a total of 2 times.

  12. Just remember on loading for it, it is a Kahr therefore it has a stiff recoil spring & needs to be a little hotter to cycle the action correctly or at least mine does.
  13. Practically just need something to get started with. After that he can decide if he wants to go farther. It's just for fun playing around the house & keeping the gravel out of the driveway. Thanks I will post if he decides to get one.

  15. What is a good place to start? Thinking of a buggy. This is something he has been thinkin about for a little while & has come to me tonight & I an clueless. What does he need to start? How much to operate? Normal wear & tear?
  16. I thought I saw on here a while ago that someone had an extrs hobby playing with these cars & trucks. My son is getting interested & we are looking for a little info. Any help will be apreciated.
  17. My thoughts exactly!
  18. How much is 9mm ammo these days? Myself I would be looking for a .223 bolt gun. Has many more uses than a .22 or 9mm with ammo around $40 per 100. With a bolt gun vs a carbine semi you would save quite a bit with the slower action. Also with the acuracy & vilocity of the .223 you can shoot much longer distances. If you wish.
  19. BigK I load: 9mm, 45ACP, 38 Spl, 41 Rem mag .223, 6.5 Jap, 303 Brit, 7.62x54r, .243 win, 30-06, 7mm Mag, .270 win, 22-250, 45-70 Gov, .444 Marlin, Have dies & brass but sold the rifle in 22 hornet, & getin started in 30-30. I also cast my Boolits for 9mm ,45 ACP,38 Spl, & 45-70. I will cast for others as soon as I get some more molds. I also may have a 35 rem on the way.
  20. This is mine. i have added a shelf for the powder & dies but it is basically the same.
  21. We used the skipjack as cut bait. Very stinky & a natural food so not as muck "playing" around with the bait. As said big hooks & a gaff to pull in the big ones.
  22. Skipjack for bait These were 30 & 35lbs. Cought at Wheeler on jugs. It was the only 2 fish we cought that day.
  23. WOW wanna sell it?? Congrats. I would like to have a .44 mag. It is the next on my "list"
