    Hunting rifle?

IMHO the round depends on what type of land you are giong to hunt. I have a 7mm Mag to hunt in a little longer distances & a .270 & a 30-30 for a little more brush guns.
  2. Congrats for him on his first hunt & nice buck (I still haven't seen one like that on my hunts). Also congrats to him for haveing a dad to take him to the feild. BTW what caliber is the NEF? I like these little guns.
  3. I like the Jap also. But if you hear about someone that has a mag for it at a nice price let me know.
  4. Hey Mike if you are in Arrington Tn just out of Franklin holler at me & we can get together & bulid some thing like that. I live in Lewisburg & work in Nashville.
  5. Bout done with mine down to a buttstock & scope. Looks good nsnate!
  6. Here are mine. Top to bottom. Arisaka type 38 6.5 jap Mosin Nagaunt 91/30 7.62x54r Enfield No4 MK1
  7. IMHO I would leave that baby alone & put it in a case like you said. The value of that gun is what you see in the pics (the way he shot it).
  8. You gotta like that hair though!!!
  9. Tungsten asked that one about tha badge, it was pretty funny. He even pulled it up so everyone could see what it said. I tried to get Angel to take a pic of him but our batteries were dead. Anyway I had alot of fun, didn't mingle much but had fun where i was at. Acually was a little uneasy about leaveing my guns unattended with the Natzies around, plus I had the wife & boy with me. Maybe Sunday is not sutch a good idea???
  10. Good job Musicman! That Joe the plumber is everywhere. LOL!
  11. Looks like I should be there. Got plenty ammo for the Mosin this time, maybe I can get a little .303 for the Enfield before then. See yall there.
  12. Angel & I did today.......No wait............. Small towns are nice for something......
  13. Dangit Mike! I still want one of these. Looks nice, I got the '51 navy from them & like it pretty well.
  14. Angel will cut off 4 lanes of traffic to get to that "HOT NOW" sign!!!!!!!!!
  15. Hi & welcome to TGO. Where are you located in shothern mid Tn?
  16. Two words "pocket pistol".
  17. I have one Butler Creek, & one Eagle International. Have had no problem with either. The Butler Creek I have had about 10yrs. Now pretty much all I use are the factory 10rd, except for looks. +1 on what Tower said. He usually give good advice.
  18. Of course it will not match the 30-06 but if i'm not mistaken anything centerfire is legal to deer hunt with. If I were to hunt with a .223 I would make sure the gun is very accurate & only go for a shot in the neck bout 3" down from the head, but that's where I always aim. That's just my:2cents:. Don't take my word for it take a look at TWRA website for the info.
  19. Congrats dude! I'm down to needing a stock & scope for mine. Good luck to a speedy build.
  20. Double congrats!! Now it's time to start all the real fun.
  21. That's really nice. I've always wanted one of those. Congrats on getting it back.

    Gun Values

How does the bore look on the Enfield? I have quite a likeing to these. Ihave the same one in that is original but I like these. What would you have to have for it?
  23. Don't forget the difference in recoil. If you like to feel like you have shot something be sure to go with the Mosin. Modern ammo is not that hard to find, Though it's not found in our Wally World it is mostly found online or a gun shop & still not that expensive. I have a 91/30 Mosin that I like quite well. I don't do much deer hunting anymore, but for plinking 7 haveing fun I will grab the 7.62x54R over the 30-30.
  24. We won 29 to 7. Dakota on one play on defense, He put a boy on his back ran by & pointed at him & said "I got you". I love to watch him run. He was blessed with those legs.
  25. Another great day at the range. Tower it was nice to finaly meet you, I loved the 10/22 though wish you could have seen my last target with mine. I put 40 rds in a 2" group, I think I have it zeroed in now. Pirate nice to meet you also. Keep the practice up it gets better & funner every time. Hope the shoulder is ok after the Mosin that was fun. Everyone else nice to see you again. Can't wait till next go around.
