I have a safe full of 39a, 1894, 336, 1894, 1895 & model 62 Marlin rifles. With that being said I have a 1895 Remiln guide gun that is spot on. The quality of it is great(it's not a 1970's Marlin by any means) but at 100 yards off hand with iron sights I will still put it up against one.

Don't rule out the new Marlins or (remlins) if you will. I collect Marlin leverguns, & always look for the presafety guns. With that being said I do own a (remlin) 1895 GBL guide gun in 45-70. The fit & finish is great even though I'm not a fan of checkering. The sights are spot on straight out of the box. & is actually my favorite Marlin to shoot besides my 1894 in 357 mag. Just don't rule something out without checking it out yourself if you have a chance.

Who has a RCBS or Redding turret press?
xd shooter replied to jeff43's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I have the RCBS & all works well. I load 9mm , .45 ACP, 38 spl, 357 mag, & a few .223. Priming system works great in the 3000 to 4000 I hVe loaded on it. I mounted a RCBS lil dandy powder throw in one of the holes & it also works great (just expensive for a few of the rotors). -
Least happy and most miserable cities in Tennessee

I don't understand the one of lowest college degrees. I know many people with college degrees that can't find a job in the field they went to school for, hence higher unemployment. -
Have wondered this one myself.

My 19 yr old son is a volunteer firefighter. He responded last night to a structure fire that they called out multiple departments for. He holt me this morning that when they arrived & was running up the hill to the house that quite a few rounds of ammo had reached their flash point. He was told then to pull his pack because nobody goes inside. Very unfortunate the house was a total loss, I am very sorry for the family involved, but thanks to the superiors for looking out for my boy.

Now that is some nice looking wood!!

I'm a Marlin guy, but with that said I have never touched a Puma that I know of & never owned a Henry. It seems very funny to me that everybody is wanting these in 44mag & most that is found is 357 mag. On top of that the 357 mag seems to bring on a heftier price tag. I'm in the same boat too. I have been looking for a 1894 in 44 mag & bought 2 in 357 mag while looking for a 44. Dats82. If you found one at a decent price for you then maybe you should grab it, if not let one of us know so we can. :). Happy Hunting!!

So, we went-n-bought a late model charger yesterday :0)

Sweet. I bought 2012 with a 5.7 that looks just like yours this year for my wife. It is a sweet ride, you'll enjoy it. I enjoy seeing all the on comming traffic slow down when they get close & the ones that will not pass in the interstate. -
I have one in 16 to part with.

I bought an Exmark used off Craigslist for $3000. This is my 5th year having it & it still has a lot of life left. Have to think a used commercial mower in a 1.5 acre lot will last forever. I mow 6 acres with mine.

Haha took out 8 with the last 10 reds from last year when I got home today!! Whooo.

Wow I can't believe everybody is running this down. I'll tell us now, if I had the extra cash I would buy a couple of them. Hell the one I have now stays in my pocket & nobody can see it. The way I look at it it is a great tool no matter what the color. Maybe it's just me but something to protect me & or my family doesn't need to win a beauty contest in order to do it.

No scale. I use a the smallest Lee dipper in the set. I think it is .003 I use a cereal box or bud light box to cut wads from, using a hollow punch as Enfield suggested. 357 mag case, SP primer. One dip of AA# 2 or AA#5 then a wad. Fill with old crushed walnut hulls from the tumbler. Cap with another wad & compress with a 36cal muzzleloader ball starter.

Nice! I have been looking for a 1894 in 44 Mag like that one for quite a while. Maybe one day. One of these days I will do another family pic of mine.

Very well agreed but I do hunt (mostly) with a Rem. 700 in 7mm Rem Mag. It was my late brothers rifle & I do well with it. Now with that being said I load all centerfire rounds that I shoot. The 7 mag I load with a 150gr projectile with IMR 4350 powder barely above minimum load (from Lyman 49th). It don't bruise my shoulder & I can fire it all day & keep 5 shots in 1/2" at 150 yrds. I normally don't need any longer distance than that. . Now if I go into the woods around my house I normally take a levergun. I do sometimes overkill it with the 45-70 :) It literally scares me to see all these inexperienced shooters break out these heavy magnum rounds out 1 time a year & try to hunt with them.

satalac I would love to give that .35 a second home. I have plenty to shoot through it. :) Nice rifle.

I love my Marlins. I have one Remlin in 45-70 & it is a great rifle. I know there are many & many posts & complaints about Remington's quality with this line. Maybe I was a lucky one, mine was only missing the tang bolt that holds on the buttstock :). Other than that it is a point & shoot. Point of aim is dead on shooting 340gr home cast hollowpoints. I also have one in .444 that is a post safety '89 model & for some reason I could not hit with it. Somehow a scout scope was the answer that it needed. After that I have a the 336 line .35 Rem from '82, & 2 in 30-30 that are from '76 & '66. Than the 1894 line 2 in .357 Mag from '80 & '81. & last but not least the 39a line 1 from '83 & as of yesterday one from '47 I also have one of the levermatics Model 62 in .256 Win Mag. Yup a fun one to find brass for!! They are all a blast to shoot but most of what I reach for is the .22, the 45-70, & the .357. None of those are as easy to find but to me they cover ALL the bases.

Do we have any news on this? Don't want to sound like I'm chomping at the bit or nothing like that.

Tighten barrel nut with no vise?
xd shooter replied to TNMTBik3r's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I have a vise on my work truck if ya need. I'm working in Nashville just about daily & wouldn't mind helping out. I have a upper vise block also. -
PM sent. Yes I'm interested.

I think they played good ball but the Cheifs didn't quite show up for the game IMHO.

You are more than welcome to come by my place & cast all you want. It will give you some experience before you buy your own setup. I have lots of clean lead. Not to sell but you can have all ya wanna cast. Warning I only have a 2 cavity Lyman mould for the 45, so 1000 will take a spell. Shoot me a text if ya want. I may not get on here for a couple days.

Just bought my 3rd one this weekend. I now have a: 024 Wood Boss w/ 16" MS250 W/ 18" & now a MS362c W/ 25" I think I should be good for a little while. I bought the 024 used & had to replace the clutch, other than that it has just bee a couple chains.
