  1. It's ok, but I prefer Smithwicks.
  2. I haven't bought a new auto in 6 or 7 years. I'm getting more and more into single action revolvers. My main carry is a Colt Agent .38spl.
  3. I wouldn't mind having one in .45acp.  I had one in 9mm and it was a pretty fun little carbine!  PITA to break down and clean,  but as Oh Shoot says, why you cleaning a Hi-Point?  Just squirt some Break-Free in it and shot it some more!
  4. Sweet looking sniper!!!  Congrats!!!
  5. I wouldn't mind one of those!
  6. This is great news!  Going to have to buy me a Beretta now! Does anyone know exactly what they plan to produce?
  7. We ended up with 4" on the deck last night at 11pm.
  8.   Sounds like some else has read Atlas Shrugged.
  9.   That's why I refused to watch.  Read Atlas Shrugged instead.
  10. I go to SMKWs when ever I want to.  Great place to go, but my one gripe about them is they never have all their wears in stock at the store, even though it's available on the internet.  If you got it online, then why don't you have it in the store?
  11. Estwing is making a line of hawks now that are affordable. They are also available at Home Depot. http://m.homedepot.com/p/Estwing-Tomahawk-Axe-in-Black-EBTA/203759826/ Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  12. We have about 3 inches here in Fountain City, up Black Oak ridge.  Got a layer of ice under the snow too.  Couldn't make it all the way up to the house and had to park the car in a seldom used driveway (with the owner's permission of course).  Walked the rest of the way home.
  13. My point was that they have already been brainwashed to think of pocket knives as weapons and it started with the schools. When I was in school, carrying a pocket knife was totally acceptable (70's and early 80's). The education system started all that.
  14.   Society is starting to think about pocket knives as weapons, especially our kids.  I gave my oldest a Kershaw to carry on her person, when she started college.  I asked her back before Christmas is she had it on her and she told me no.  I asked why not and she told me that weapons were not allowed at school or where she worked. Under Tennessee State Law, that knife is not defined as a weapon, but she thinks it is.  You can thank our secondary education system and the Feds (TSA) for that because, they have effectively put that message out there.  If your son or daughter is caught with a knife at school, they are looking at a year of suspension.  At the airport, TSA confiscates them, if found.  Try walking into a Federal building with one sometime.   I feel naked without a pocket knife weighting down my right pocket and tell all my friends that a man should always carry a pocket knife with them.  Hardly any of my friends does except one and she's a girl!
  15. Maybe Crazy Uncle Joe should be tried as an accessory, since he told all these crazy people to go get themselves a shotgun and they seemed to have taken his advice!   Heard on FOX that the woman that was killed was the shooter's ex-girlfriend.
  16. Amazon is supposed to be send email notices to all of the customers in Tennessee, telling them they owe State Sales Tax in 2013.  It is your responsibility to go the Tennessee Department of Revenue Site and download a form in order to pay the state.  Anyone get one of these yet?   http://www.wate.com/story/24541557/amazon-shoppers-receive-tax-notifications
  17. Hope they are alright, Tanker!
  18. Breaking news on FOX and CNN.  Police have an Active shooter situation at a mall in Maryland.  At least 3 dead, including the possible shooter.  A body was found near a weapon and ammunition.     http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/01/25/police-respond-to-report-shooting-at-maryland-mall/   http://www.cnn.com/2014/01/25/us/maryland-mall-shooting/index.html?hpt=hp_t1

    Starter .308?

If you want to go cheaper and stay semi auto, maybe a VEPR in 308... http://www.slickguns.com/product/russian-vepr-rifle-308-square-back-20-12-barrel-integrated-sights-vsb308-20-02-68999-shipped I don't have any experience with the VEPR in 308...but the 7.62x54r version is a hoot. I am sure others will chime in.     I've always heard good things about the VEPR.  This is a rifle I would consider.  I would also recommend a Saiga.  I have one in .223 and it's a blast to shoot!!!
  21. That's exactly what I was thinking! :D
  22. Very cool old revolver!  I love Colts!  Most of them have great triggers!
  23. Weinstein is a dumbass.  Just my personal observation.

    New pistol

If you don't mind the size, you could find a used Beretta 92 for around that.  Big honkin' pistol for a 8mm, but they will run flawless.
  25. I agree with that. But the small Libertarian elements presently in the Republican party are starting to be attacked by the Republican Old Guard in conjunction with Big Business; i.e. The U.S.Chamber of Commerce, who declared they will no longer support certain candidates.
