  1. I have a PT111 Millennium G2 and it is a fantastic pistol! For what the money its the best sub $400 pistol out there. Sent from my SM-G860P using Tapatalk
  2. I believe this is for the PT Pro and 24/7 series, not the new G2 series pistols.
  3. I would go with the 45. As someone said above, if you want a 9mm SA, go with a Browning Hi-Power.
  4. I like looking at Bud's, since they have the finest selection around.  I have never bought a firearm from them though.  I did pick up a Vortec Diamondback Scope from them them back in June at a really great price!  For ammunition, I don't think anyone is cheaper than SMKW!
  5. Foxnews ran this article on a report the British Government released this week, discussing our susceptibility to a solar flare or Coronal Mass Ejection.  There is a link to the actual report in the first paragraph, termed Department of Business, Innovation and Skills.    http://www.foxnews.com/science/2015/07/29/uk-govt-earth-will-only-have-12-hour-warning-to-deal-with-next-massive-sun/?intcmp=hplnws   Give it a read, along with the report and chime in with your thoughts!
  6. You know, it seems like a read stories like this coming out of Cali about every other day, and each time I read one, I think to myself "Thank God, I don't live there!"
  7. Pretty neat idea and design!!!  I wouldn't mind having something like this as long as it's legal.
  8. I bought a Springer GI from a guy at work that had installed an ambi safety and a adjustable rear and tall front sight.  I'd like to ditch the ambi safety and trade out the sights for some good combat sights.  I'm not a fan of ambi safeties.
  9. Unfortunately, a lot of minimum wage people are not motivated.  My son is 16 and he has looked for a job all summer.  He's put in countless applications for a part time job.  There are none to be had.  Adults take them all.
  10. If you are looking in Anderson County, keep in mind that the property taxes are quite high.  At one point, they were the highest in the state, due to all the land owned by DOE, which is not taxable.  S   Seems like at one time, there was a lot of cheap land along the rim of the Sequatchie Valley, starting around Spring City and going south down around Dunlap.  At least they used to advertise in the Knoxville paper on Sundays.  But you are buying land with a view and I don't know how steep some of it might be or how much water might be available.   That's another thing you need to be looking for.  Make sure you have a good water source on any property you buy.  And a well in my book isn't an adequate water source.  You have to have power to pump it to where you need it.
  11. He'll be working for DARPA or Lockheed Martin when he graduates in a couple of years.  :)
  12. Regardless of military regulations, dollars to donuts that Reserve and National Guard Centers and NG Recruiting Stations are the most heavily armed sites throughout the United States after last week.  I also bet the same thing is going on at all Federal Recruiting Stations all over the country.  They may not have a firearm on their person, but I bet there is one in the desk drawer that they work at.  I'd say that regulations is the most ignored in the military right now. I also guarantee that if something were to happen like Chattanooga again, there would be no repercussions for any individual service member that happened to return fire with a personal firearm, especially if they ended the firefight right then.
  13. I straddle the light and the dark.  I love both!  I will say Glocks are a boringly reliable though.  I still love my 1911s too.  A Springer GI  resides on my side of the bed. My Glock 17 resides on my wife's side.  She loved it so much back in 1990, that I gave it to her. Another reason I gave it to her, was to keep me from trading it off.
  14. It's been a deadly week, the terrorist attack in Chattanooga, last Thursday, a family of five stabbed to death in California, another family of five stabbed to death in Oklahoma and now this.   They are saying that two victims were killed and 7 wounded and then the gunman killed himself in Baton Rouge. The weapon used was a handgun.
  15. Actually they didn't say that. Just identified the weapons. Sent from my SM-G860P using Tapatalk
  16. CBS News is reporting tonight that the gunman was armed with an AK47, AR15 and a .45 caliber handgun.
  17. I didn't see a pistol in Basic Training or AIT.  Once I got to my unit I was issued a .45.  I had shot the 1911a1 before, and knew how to break one down, I'd never qualified with one.  It wasn't all that hard.  When Desert Storm rolled around, I was in a different and higher position and was issued a M16a1.  And I had no problem with that, being in a combat engineering battalion!  I wanted nothing to do with a pistol in combat.    I do think that all soldiers should go though an orientation for pistols in Basic though.  All Soldiers and Marines should be familiar with every personal weapon in their respective service's inventory.  I also think regardless of what your position is, you should have a weapon issued to you.  Recruiters should have a sidearm issued and should go through a training course and qualification with that sidearm.  And they should be required to carry that sidearm now.
  18. Also some firearms were purchases legally and some may not have been purchased legally. FBI is chasing 70+ leads at the moment. Sent from my SM-G860P using Tapatalk
  19. From the press conference: He had on a tacticool vest. He didn't kill himself. Police were under a tremendous amount of fire from the gunman. "It was clear he had intent to kill police officers if he had to." No one was arrested at the gunman's home. Will not discuss what the found on his computer nor if the gunman had contact with anyone outside of the country. Sent from my SM-G860P using Tapatalk
  20. I have heard that two on both CNN and FOX. Sent from my SM-G860P using Tapatalk
  21. Press conference: will not talk about the specfic weapons but did say the gunman had two long guns and a handgun. Sent from my SM-G860P using Tapatalk
  22. Hey now be nice!!! I have a Saiga in 5.56x45!!! And they ain't rainbow!!! :) Sent from my SM-G860P using Tapatalk
  23. The thing is he probably bought them from an individual and there was nothing illegal about it, but you can rest assure the Antis will sound the drumbeat for background checks for all purchases, ban hi-cap mags and anything that resembles an assault weapon. 24. You didn't miss anything, trust me.
  25. I like the NCO carrying weapons openly.  I think they also need to be able to carry concealed, as well.   BTW, I signed the petition as well.  This is a policy that needs to change.
