Hey, I have a Saiga in .223! One reason I can tell you is that it will eat steel case ammunition all day long!!! That's something my AR will not do. It eats everything else, but not steel case. And I got it right, when I bought. I like a good deal! Would love to have another in .308!

Actually, this has been a rather amusing topic and informative at the same time. Sometimes it's sorta fun to watch an individual beat themselves up against the brick wall of fact!

The Thing was a modernized copy of the Kübelwagen and was actually developed for the West German Army in the 60's, I think. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_181 I like old VWs.

I have a FNH FNS 9mm and it's my favorite big pistol! Is this about the same size?

We had no clue this one was there, until she got stung. Which is actually kinda sad. She has basically taken our deck and made a little workshop out of it. Yesterday she was hammering some nails next to one of the deck corner posts and the vibration from the hammer got the nest all stirred up. The entrance hole was almost 2 inches in diameter, so they had been there for a while. We'll be more observant after this... I hope!

I'm happy to report the little bastards are crispy critters now. Stuck a 1" PVC pipe in the nest and poured gas in it. Then my wife lit it up with a burning rag. Problem solved with much satisfaction. I will probably use the wasp spray next time though. Thanks for the tips and stories!

Thanks for sharing such a good memory! Sorry about you Cousin Jenny.

I hate these things! My wife was out working on the deck this morning and got stung twice. So after applying some baking soda to the stings, We both went back outside to try and spot their nest, in the grass. Spot it we did... after I got stung! Little Bastards! I'm going to fix their little red wagon this evening with a dose of gasoline and a match!

I passed the story along to several friends and also posted it on Face Book, where it's been shared several times today. Thank you for sharing it with us, Bersaguy!

Anybody on here make leather holsters?

I don't think it's just the insurance, but financial institutions across the board. The State of New York as also warned banks that are HQ'ed in the State to not do business with the NRA. A lot of businesses take short term loans to meet payroll and then pay it off the next week. If the NRA uses such a system and is unable to secure said loans, than that may put a serious strain on their resources. Of course, this is all posturing by the NRA's attorneys as well. They want to paint the bleakest picture possible in order to gain support from the court system. I would be real surprised is the NRA isn't still up and running in the next 10 years.

I think a lot of countries issued the FAL with BHPs. Those were the ubiquitous military firearms of the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s.

I always carry an extra mag for my P32. And when I get the LCP out of lay-a-way, I will purchase an extra mag for it too. Which brings up another question. I use a leather pocket holster for my P32 in the right front pocket and I just put the extra mag in my left front pocket with my keys and pocket knife of the day. Any of you all carry an extra mag in a pocket holster or do you just put in your front pocket?

If I were to get back into 1911s again, RIA would be what I purchased. Sometimes I miss my old ones, but then I pick up my SA XDs and remember why I stepped away from them. But everyone that I know that owns a RIA, swears by them! Funny how this thread gets resurrected from time to time. Are the Tisas 1911s still being imported here?

If I recall correctly, the GB and the Glock 17 came out at the same time. Glock had much better marketing than Steyr and won the Austrian Military contract. Then it just became another Wonder9. And at that time, he market was flooded with Wonder9s!

This does not look like a steak. It looks like a certain part of the female anatomy. Are you trying to tell us something MG? Exactly!!! You buy the steaks and wave ours at the grill and I'll come bake the cake, with your ingredients.

Don't see them much around here or at least I haven't. Harvey's Loan and Pawn has a couple of Shield 45 ACP on Auction right now, but they started at $360. And as I type this, I just checked their auction page and the auctioned off a used Shield 9mm, that went for $245. Only one person bid. So I guess they are out there. The only rebates that S&W is giving right now are to former and active Service members of the Reserve and National Guard. https://www.smith-wesson.com/rebates I've considered the Sccy, especially since they are building a plant in Maryville, TN. They go for really cheap here in Knoxville. You can usually find them new for less than $200. But I watched a Hickok45 review of them and while it was ok, it wasn't great. He had a couple of issues. His review of the PT111 Millennium G2 was much better. Still might get one, one of these day though.
