I wouldn't buy a certificate at a particular shop. I'd make one, with the price on it you were willing to pay. That way he can find the best deal on what he ends up selecting! Love the Date at the range idea! You might even want to go one step further and make a weekend out of it. Bud's Gun Shop is in Sevierville and has one of the finest selections (and some of the best prices) in the South. They also have an indoor range. And there is also Smoky Mountain Knife Works, next door that also sales firearms. Why not rent a cabin or a hotel room for the weekend, in the Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville area! Just a thought. I know one cabin rental place that has half off specials, if you go online Christmas Day and rent from them. And welcome to the Forum!

Stopped leaving guns in the car when my S&W Mdl 10 got stolen out of my Cherokee back in 1995. What ever I am carrying stays with me now.
-
I like S&W and I love old Colts, but they are usually priced too high for me. I was in the market for a new 4" .357 (not .38spl) back in the Spring, Ended up with a ported Taurus Tracker. My next option would have been a Ruger GP100, for about $150 more. New S&Ws were completely out of my price range at an additional $300. I think S&W is trying to go the way of Colt and their snake guns. Everyday use revolvers are a thing of the past for both companies, unless you are looking for a small carry piece. Ruger would do well to expand their line of LCRs and sell one in .357mag with a 3" and 4" barrel. That would have probably been very much in my price range!

I’ve really liked the two I’ve had.

I bought the DeSantis Nemesis and really like it. I gave the little Keltec P32 with the no name leather holster to my daughter. She carries it all the time now.

So basically, you used a .22 to disable it and never touched off the cannon...

The thought that comes to me is that he may have forced someone else to help him or harmed them and it's not been discovered yet. And if someone willingly helped him, then I hope they get what they deserve, a long stint in jail. -
Harvey's is currently Auctioning a Beretta Nano in FDE 3" 9mm. High bid right now is $341 about 5 hours ago. I don't know much about these, so have no idea if this is a good price or not. If you are on FB, search for The General Store at Harvey's Pistol & Pawn and then click on Posts. Auction started yesterday.

Harvey's has been auctioning new ones off left and right lately. One went for $235 today. Another one is at $271 right now. The thing I hate about these is they come with one mag. Every automatic should come with at least two! Ought to be the law!

Been looking at the LC9S, because it has a better rear sight system for just about $50 more. But still thinking on a Shield 2.0 as well.

I've gotten some good deals at Bud's, but I've also gotten some good deals at SMKW, especially on ammunition. You must do both, when you are there. Both will be busy though.

Damn! Hope you two are friends! Will I have a XDs in .45ACP and I think it's the cat's meow! It's about 4 oz heavier than the Shield. That being said, I'm now carrying a Ruger LCP, simply because it's less than half the weight and hides extremely well. But I don't go into places the Boogie man lives either, unless I can't help it. Then the XDs or my FNH FNS tags along.

I have a Remington 521, a Marlin 81 and a Winchester 67.

This is it. The only thing it says on It Made in Paraguay. Today I bought a Nemesis and a Fobus holster for the LCP. The leather pocket holster will stay with my P32, more than likely.

Sounds like they were pretty freakin' bold! I'm pretty sure it was an inside job. How else would the thieves have known where to go and what size trailer to use? https://www.yahoo.com/news/atf-400-guns-stolen-ups-facility-tennessee-182600581.html

It’s a no name leather holster I picked up at Rural King, for $15 about a year ago. Has the hook on on the bottom that catches on the pocket as you pull it out. Works well!

Man, I miss those days. A lot of neat stuff came into the country back then. -
I always carry mine in my strong side front pocket, using a leather pocket holster. Extra mag goes in the other pocket.
-
Why not ship it back to Hi-Point and let them fix it and provide you another mag? Seems like you really aren't out anything. And while it's not an expensive pistol, you will still have a good gun. If nothing else, make it your tackle box or truck gun. Afterwards, maybe gift it to some one that needs a firearm, but really can't afford one.

So was anyone charged with something?

Been there and it sucks. My wife and I had let one ours go last month. It was horrible. I'm sorry for your loss!

Okay, been following this thread since it started. Very curious and interesting! Here are my theories. 1. Case of Work Place Violence. Some very smart person with a grudge against someone at the observatory, sent in some sort of chemical, via the mail. We'll call it anthrax. Since it's a Government facility, the FBI would be called for both the Observatory and the post office. I would think we'd see the CDC also called in. Since that hasn't happened, that I know of, that's the one hole I see in this theory. 2. Something is going on at White Sands and the Feds don't want it exposed in any way, so they sent in the FBI to temporarily or permanently shut the facility down, But why the post office too? 3. The Observatory discovered something about the Sun that the Government doesn't want released yet. But if true, whatever they discovered will get out soon enough. There are other observatories around the world that are not under the control of the U.S Government. Whatever ever it might be, they can't keep a lid on it forever. 4. Aliens, which I do happen to believe exist. Just don't know that they can reach Earth. The Universe is too damn big for us to be the only sentient beings in it. But why would they show up here, unless they were trying to keep their presence on the down low, and only want to reach out initially to the Government. And if true, wouldn't they be illegal aliens? Trump would want to build a wall around the observatory I'm sure and we have seen no evidence of a wall being built... Sorry just trying to inject a little humor in this. I do not thing it's a case of terrorism. Why would any known terrorist group attack an observatory in the middle of nowhere. Terrorists want publicity. This "target", in no way shape or form, gives them that.
