  1. I kinda like his idea about having a Kydex sheath made and then picking up a fruit knife or paring knife at a local store after you fly into whatever city you are in. Then ditch the knife at the airport, when you head home. Just about every city has a walmart. Better yet. Forget the sheath, since you might not be able to get the exact knive you had it made for. Just get some cardboard and some tape and make a sheath for whatever knife you pick up. You could probably make it from the packaging... This is all Gray Man stuff though.
  2. Seems like most KELTEC Models are almost non-obtainium. They have some really cool designs, but it seems like they make a small number and then move on to another project. I've had a couple of KELTEC pistols and have had mixed results. I love their little P32. Absolutely hated the PF9 though. Looked like a great idea, but they seem to have cut a lot of corners with. The one I had, had such violent recoil, that after the first couple of magazines, the mag release started release the mag after a couple of shots. I tried repositioning my grip, thinking that was what was happening, but nothing worked. Took it home and the steel magazine had shaved off the plastic magazine release, KELTEC shipped me another plastic magazine release. I replaced the old one with the new one and traded the pistol off.

Let's hope that's a long way off for both of you!

I was just looking for a plain jane .45 1911a1 like I carried in the Army, so none of that was what I was looking for. Honestly, if I were looking to upgrade, I might look first at a higher end model that had some or all the whistles and bells, to see if I liked that sort of stuff. Then add better parts and pieces. Something like this. Rock Island Armory Rock Standard FS .45 ACP 5 8+1 Black Rubber Grip Black | 51431 - Buds Gun Shop Or this. Tisas 1911 Duty Full Size 8+1 Stainless Steel 45 ACP (classicfirearms.com)

I have the SDS U.S. Army 1911a1, that’s made in Turkey. I’ve really enjoyed it. You should check it out. They run about $400.
  6. 1000 yards for me, out at ORSA (I think that's the longest Known Distance Range there), with a custom built U.S Army Issue National Match M14.

Man, I really love my Taurus TX22, but this looks like the Bees Knees, with the standard removeable OSB plate, higher capacity and fiber optic sights! I cannot put a reddot on my TX22. But that beast will run! I don't see myself trading it in anytime soon. As of now, there is no other .22 I'd rather have, that's available on the market, than the TX22.
  8. Nice setup! Wish I had the know how to do what you did!
  9. These are highly underated IMO, as long as you use Hi-Point mags or the Redball mags! And that's a great price too! Fun little rifle!!! GLWS!
  10. S&W 442 and a CIVIV Vexer.
  11. I'm sorry that you are losing a brother.
  12. That’s pretty amazing! I think I would love to have one!
  13. Gas Turbines are what TVA is hanging their hat on. Another new bank is going in at Johnsonville. That will bring them up to 30 turbines I believe. John Sevier is now a Gas Turbine Plant as well, as is Allen. That's not all. Several large Substations have Gas Turbines installed at them as well. Though I think TVA took most of those over after the Enron debacle. Lot of privately owned Solar Farms are going in all over the valley now as well. They do and will sell power to TVA. TVA is down to only 4 or 5 Coal fire plants now, with Bull Run scheduled to go offline in 2025. The rumor I've heard is Cumberland may be next.
  14. Is this going to be your carry gun or just a range gun?
  15. You're right. Fusion is what I meant. Still doesn't mean they won't figure it out in the next decade or two, though. We've come a long way since we created the first atom bomb. Now we are looking at mini nuclear plants. Also we are moving away from costly coal plants (from the stand point of clean air and ashfills) to gas turbine plants (environmentalists are still not happy about those, but they can suck it for the present. They are a lot cleaner than coal plants).
  16. I think that's a good idea too! This is the kind of things that they need to start planning for now. Has Musk talked about anything like this?
  17. Right now, that's true. But I suspect that the future holds longer range and ggreat towing capacity. But in order for this to work, a lot of things still need to fall into place. First of all, we as a nation, need to decide on what type of resource we are going to use to make the future power that is going to be needed. Coal is out. That's very clear. So are we going back to nuclear, or continue with natural gas/solar/wind/wave or something different like fission. Next we need to be start building new plants and new transmission lines, with new substations and switching stations. All this needs to be in conjunction with a network of charging stations, built across the nation. The specific planning for all this needs to start now. We did this sort of planning once before, with Dwight D. Eisenhower's "Grand Plan" for the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1956. That got us the Interstate Hwy system we all enjoy now. I'm not saying the Federal Government needs to foot the bill for all of this. But they do need to be in on the initial planning and setting of standards. Then start turning it over to power generation and distribution companies for power and transmission portion of the implamentation and to commerical companies for the building the needed charging stations. The Governement should get it rolling and then step out of the way and let us do what we do best! I believe that if this were to happen, then in 10 years we will be well on our way to energy independence. But make no mistake, we will always need petrolium products. Crude oil just isn't for gas and diesel fuel. Anyone that thanks that, is a doofus.
  18. It think you might be very surprised at how much these trucks are capable of pulling! Also the prices are competitive with combustion engine trucks. The Range isn't bad either. https://rxmechanic.com/electric-pickup-truck/
  19. Cause people are idiots. You can get one at Bud's for $399 right now.
  20. I think KahrMan is right.
  21. Winchester used to make the 88 that used a 4 rd box magazine, in .308. It was along the lines of a Savage 99. I understand they were very accurate, but they are rare as hens teeth. I think I’ve only seen one in the last 30 years. https://www.americanrifleman.org/content/a-look-back-at-the-winchester-model-88-rifle/
  22. Putin has placed his Nuclear Forces on Alert. Are you ready? We personally are not. Putin puts Russia's nuclear forces on alert as fighting in Ukraine continues - CBS News
  23. We do not want this man as Governor.
  24. Could you please post a list of what each one is and what you want for it? That would help a lot!
  25. Are you looking for a Folder for EDC or fixed blade? I purchased a CIVIVI Vexer last Spring in D2 and it's been my constant pocket buddy since I got it. Great quality for a China knife. Price was right too. Check them out at www.smkw.com or www.civivi.com.
