I've had one for a couple of years now. Great pistols! You'll love it!

The IOK-47-C with the polymer stock is the one I held this afternoon. It had a pretty good feel to it, not that I'm an AK expert or anything. They also had a CZ52 for $199.99 and TOK for $249.

Hey folks, I was in JFloyds in Sevierville this afternoon and they have 10 or 11 IO AK47s for sale at the price of $599. These had the synthetic stocks or at least the one I handled did. And I believe it's made over in N.C. Don't know how good they are, but I thought I'd pass it along. Seemed like a good price compared to what I've been seeing else where.

That's pretty much the way traditional western holsters were made. Growing up I can remember watch Paladin on TV. He had one of those fancy Hollywood fastdraw holsters with the steel shank in the back and slung down low on the leg. Nothing authentic about. This loop holster is much more like a cowboy would have been wearing.

Of course! Three of them to be exact. One, I'm showing my love for the Tennessee Volunteers. Two, it helps me find my last post fast. That way I can skip the stuff I should already have read and move on to the stuff that was posted after I made my last comments. Third, I like to be a little different.

I have a second generation Colt Agent .38spl that I carry in a pocket sometime. It conceals quite well and is a six shot to boot. I feel more than adequately armed with it. It's also deadly accurate at 15 yards or longer.

Obama wants Senate to ratify CIFTA - national gun registration
Moped replied to G27's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Believe it or not, but today I read an editorial that accused Harry Reid of being the one that is holding this up. My guess is the reason he is holding this up, is because the Democrats don't have the votes to ratify it. The Democrats made big gains in 2006 when Pelosi became speaker, but the gains, which were in conservative districts and states, were actually conservative Democrats that will not vote for gun control. Thank God for small miricles! Other wise we'd have AWB back already. Not all Democrats are against us. We need to reward those that stand with us on this issue. Please bear that in mind. -
Yesterday afternoon, Gander Mountain in Knoxville still had a bunch of .40S&W. They also had .22 .32 S&W Long, .44 Mag, .45 GAP and .45 ACP. Some of the .45 ACP was 185gr HPs. I think it was $48 a box... bit high for my tastes. Them seemed to have plenty of .223 and shotgun ammo.

There was one up on GOLSN a couple of months back. It's on my list to purchase. I've always wanted one. Makes a lot of sense from a bugout gun prospective.

I second that AMEN!!! You said everything I was thinking!

I've humped one. They are decent for the price you usually can get them at, but there are more comfortable and better packs out there. Just depends on what you want. One thing an ALICE has that most other packs don't, is a quick release. Don't know if that matters to you much. And also you sure can stick a lot of crap on them though!

I think those of us here in Tennessee, need not worry about being a minority if we a bit right of center. Looks like I qualify. Sadly I don't see myself as a threat to the Government. Lou Dobbs had a segment about this tonight. I watched it and just shook my head. To my mind Homeland Security looks like it is turning into what I feared it would be all along. Believe it or not, I don't blame Obama for this. I thought it was a stupid and dangerous idea to begin with. "W" is the one that must take responsiblity for unleashing what looks to be turning into a monster, on us.

Leaving for gatlinburg wed....where are the must go places?
Moped replied to 2000silverz28's topic in General Chat
Pancake Pantry is a MUST!!! +1+1+1!!! And don't be fooled by the long line at the door. It moves really fast! If you like Japanese, I recommend Little Tokyo in Pigeon Forge. If you like home cooking, I like Clint's outside of Sevierville, going towards Newport. Can't say enough about J Floyd's! They are nice folks in there. Other than that, hit the mountains every chance you get. Head to Cades Cove. If your into hiking, I've always like the Rainbow Falls trail. Have fun and don't pass up the Pancake Pantry!!! -
The P89 is an excellent pistol, but they are kind of klunky. They are however very dependable. I have a friend of mine that has had a Sig 9mm for 20 years and swears that the old Ruger P89 he keeps under the seat in his truck will out shoot the Sig. He has also never had it fail to fire no matter where the 9mm ammo came from. He can't say the same for the Sig.

Obama Orders GM and Doge out of NASCAR....

Holy CRAP! Sure didn't see that coming! -
Personally, I've bought my last Nissan. We have a 2005 Nissan Quest we bought brand new. It now has 63,000 miles and this is our third set of brakes at $450 a pop on the thing. I have other issues with the van as well and will not buy another one. It just seems cheap. My Parents have a 2007 Chrysler LXI minivan that is twice the van and have had no problems out of it. I'm not a big Chrylser fan, but I've driven it when the Nissan was in the shop and it's far nicer. I think my next van is going to be a Honda.

Beat up, that's still a good deal! There are all kinds of things you could do to it to bring it back to youth! Have fun with it!!!

I read that with much interest yesterday on Foxnews.com. Wonder what they think of us here at Tngunowners.com? We might have a whole drive on one of their computers!

The reason the 9mm was accepted by the U.S. Military was because it was the standard round in NATO except for us. We used the .45acp. So in the spirit of standardizing ammunition throughtout NATO, we adopted the 9MM and dropped the best pistol round ever carried by an American Soldier. At the same time the 5.56x45 became the standard NATO rifle round. The 7.62x51mm was still used by most NATO countries at the time. I wonder though, during Desert Storm, many of the reserve and National Guard Units still carried 1911a1. Were they still in service during our lastest conflicits? Not a Special Ops guns, but in regular units?

Lately, I've had a yearning to build an underground house. I'd also like to get totally off the grid as well. I'd think that if you had property with a south facing hillside that would be the ticket. Why south facing, because you can use the sun to provide some heat for your house during the daylight hours. An underground house also provides excellent insullation. One draw back though is that they tend to be a bit damp, but there are things you can do to take care of that. An underground house would also provide fairly good cover if you had to defend yourself. If it were me, I'd keep the dirt that I excavated for the house and build up permanent walls of some sort to the front. Off the grid electrical sources would probably have to be a combination of different types, as mentioned before. One I've not seen though is wind. If you could setup a couple of windmills, along with some solar panels, that might be the ticket. Another possiblity is if your property has a creek, then you could setup a water wheel to turn a generator. That would probably supply all the power you might need. Of course a well is a must for water. Not sure I'd trust a creek for my water needs. Another possiblity is rain barrels especially for watering animals and such.

I was in CCA last week and they had some Mini-14's with what looked like a 16" barrel. They had a black synthetic stock and I think they were marked NRA. I'm not sure of the price though.

Many women wear jackets with pockets in them, even in the summer time. A 442 or a 642 would be dandy in a jacket pocket as well. Lack of a exposed hammer or moving slide is a plus, IMO.
