    Good Deal?

I've always wondered if 40 Round Mags were really good to use. I know that sounds like a stupid question, but really, can you assume a good prone position with a 40 round mag locked in? I'd bet the bottom of the mag is on the ground and acting like a mono-pod.
  2. A Luger, followed by a Ruger MkII (almost the same grip as the Luger), then a Browning Hi-power and a Colt 1911a1.

Actually, I've never know Giada to never NOT show massive amounts of cleavage! I think she's quite proud of them and she should be! BTW, what were we originally discussing here and who got us off topic?

I believe she's a natural! Her husband must be a very happy man!
  6. I understand where Marine3 is coming from. I wouldn't feel underarmed by sending a cloud of No. 6 down the hallway of my house. I've seen the damage it will do to dogs 10 yards out and it's not pretty. Seems like at that range, there's just not a large pattern. It's pretty concentrated in say 2-4 inches of spread depending on the choke. One round has always been sufficent to take a large dog down instantly from "hallway" range (in my house the hallway is 20 ft). The other advantage is that the kick is so much less, which makes follow up shots much quicker, especially for an undertrained woman or child.
  7. WOW! What a find! Those are sharp!!! What might I get into one of the blues for?
  8. Hey Mike, those high dollar Mosins are Finnish and are reported to shoot far better than the Soviet models. I wish I had the money for something like that.

The best advice is to get in good with a couple of buddies that can go out with you. Read lots of articles and try different stuff out. I pretty much quit deer hunting when we started having kids. It's a push just to get to the range anymore. If I were you, I'd post over in the hunting section.
  10. That's a great pistol. I'd hate to sell it. But if you're in a bind, you gotta do what you gotta do. Nothing in my collection is more important than food on the table and roof over my head.

Field and Stream picked as one of their best buys back in the winter!
  12. I read the comments made to CNN and all but two were supportive of Mr. Muller! I'd by a truck from this guy if I lived in Missouri!
  13. This needs to go in baby steps. Something else needs to set the precedence for the 10th Amendment, before firearms. Maybe Health care. Once that precedence is set, then we can move on firearms.
  14. Seriously, with your price range, I'd go with an Remington 870, though just about any pump shotgun would do. the 870 seems to be the pump shotty that all others are compared too. That says something. That being said, I've had good luck with Mossys and Mavericks I think are just Mossys made in Mexico. I've also heard good things about Charles Dailys, though I've never handed one. IF you can find one, a used Ithaca makes an EXCELLENT shotgun!
  15. No ghosts, but lots of snoring from the dads in attendence! It's a great deal for scouts and their parents. We stayed on board for two nights, they served four meals in the in the enlisted mess. We had the run of the ship from 6:00am till 11:00pm. And they also took us out to Ft. Sumter. That was one of three trips we could have taken. The others were Boone Plantation and the SC Aquarium. All that for the price of $32 per night per person! And we got ringside seats for the fireworks over Charleston Harbor on the 4th (I think Boomsday is better). We had a ball, but I was a tired puppy when we got home on Sunday!!! I agree about the BP Pistol! Everyone should have one. Sadly I'm lacking. I had a Pedersoli Remington 1858. 44, but I sold it. Wished I hadn't now. We all hear that a lot, don't we!
  16. For ribs here in Knoxville, my favorite is Ruby Tuesday. They are wet and the best in town. Calhouns is just ok in my book. I like Chili's better than theirs. For Brisket, it's Famous Dave's with the Devil Spit, BABY!!!

I like Giada, but Paula Dean is my dream girl!!!
  18. I know all about gate guards with no sense of humor. Used to in the Army. My son and I stayed on the Yorktown with his Scout Troop over the July 4th weekend. One of the coolest Scout Trips I've ever been on! I look forward to the pictures! BP pitols are getting harder to find unless you mail order them.

She's got'em!!! You like the Cobra! I have a 2nd Gen Agent and I love it! Very accurate with the right load for a snubby. I use Federal Nyclads when I can find them. I'm down to one box now and I don't have a lot of hope in finding anymore.
  20. Could you post some pictures of what you have? Are you stationed in Charleston?

    Revolver rifle

They were really made during the cap and ball era of the mid-1850's. It was about the only multi-shot rifle until the advent of the Spencers and carbines of their type during the Civil War. After that time period, I'd tend to agree. I'd much rather have a Winchester lever gun for my long arm.
  22. I'd say you did well! I bet the nipples can simple be replaced. Good purchase!
  23. Boy, I bet that Detective would REALLY be impressed by some of the carbines over at the Hi-Point Forum! He probably compare them to a Nuclear Bomb!!!

    New 16lb 9mm!

Shotgun News had an article on them a couple of months back. Seemed to be very impressed with them. MSRP was up there though. Seems like it was around $1000. I think it may still be in the "Library" at work. I'll try to check it out again tomorrow.
