As I said in another post on the Arisaka Thread, I ain't done yet. I spotted another little item at Randy's Guns today. They have a Argentine Colt Sistema 1927. The 1927 was made in Argentina. But the Argentines purchased the Colt Machinery to make them on. These are true copies of the old 1911a1 war horses that we love so much!!! Any way, the Sistema at Randy's looks like it's in pretty good shape. There was a little wearing of the bluing, but all in all it looked to be in really good condition. In fact I may go back tomorrow and check it out some more. The price was $299. Not bad for an old war horse 1911a1. Just for grins, you all go check them out on Gunbroker.com.

I saw that! Glad you got a look at the Enfield. Wonder if Gander wll dicker on the price any at all. Thanks for the thumbs up on posting my sightings! I love the old stuff too. ARs and stuff are nice, but the old war horses are far more fun in my book! They have personality! BTW, I ain't done yet!

Hey, I was nice. Two of my best friends graduated from Gibbs. I refer to them as Gibblets! One still lives there. The moved to the big city of Halls, just down the road!

Next time I'm in there, I'll ask. Mike and I were thinking alike. Scary I know, a Gibbs guy and a Powell guy thinking alike. I figured it was tax and all.

Hey guys, when I run across old Military Firearms for sell, I'm going to start posting them here, both for discussion and so if there happens to be a collector out there, they can go check it out themselves. I did this with the 1917 Enfield the other day at Gander Mountain. Since I'm in Knoxville, that's where most of these great old firearms will be located. Also I have no idea if the firearms have been re-blued or refurbished in any way. So basically I'm just saying they look good or they look like a POS. I claim no expertise! Today I ran by Randy's Guns on Broadway/Maynardville Hwy here in Knoxville. They had a Japanese Arisaka Type 38 carbine in 6.5mm. The rifle is almost cherry in appearance. I'd rate it 90+ for that. I did not check out the bore, but the chamber and and mag looked almost new. The mum is still on the receiver and the cleaning rod is on the rifle. The price is $599 cash and carry (whatever that means). If your in the market for a Japanese rifle, this is a nice one that you might want to checkout.

I wouldn't have had to worry about brown stains in my shorts. I'd have had a heart attack! Those guys were lucky!

We were talking about this at work yesterday and no one there had seen the original! I felt REALLY OLD!

A ton of good info on that site. I spent half of Sunday night reading about half the thread! I need to get back to it!

Kix is also doing radio. He's on WIVK every Sunday morning doing the Country Countdown. I wasn't surprised. 20 years is a long time and they've probably made more money than they know what to do with. Glad to see them go out on top! They are a class act!

I was in Gander Mountain here in Knoxville today and noticed that they have a Enfield 1917 for sale at $599. Don't know if anyone is looking. It seemed to be in nice shape. I noticed no cracks in the wood and most of the bluing was still there. It seemed to be a nice clean rifle. They also had a Columbian 1895 Mauser in 7x57. It was in fair condition at best in my book.

I think there is one for sale on Gunbroker, here in Tennessee. Let me go hunt it up. Ok I'm back. There is one in Murfreesboro that looks nice and even comes with the bayonet. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=136329287 Here is another in White House, with the Mum in place, but seems to be missing a few little things. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=136748853 Check them out. Should help with evaluating your rifle.

Yeah, I'm thinking so to. I did read something about Peitta in Italy making some for the Gibbs Rifle Company a while back. BTW, Gibbs is bringing back a replica of the 03A4 sniper rifle. 1903-A4 Sniper Rifle

Thanks for sharing that story. My eyes are wet from reading it. Our society has so lost it's direction when men like Powers die without any recognition for their service and others, who have have done nothing for our country except denigrate it, continue to be honored. It makes me feel ashamed.

A guy I work with picked up a 17 about a month ago. The barrel is real rough. In fact it's shot out. He's been looking for another, but hasn't located one yet.

And his explanation for using said quote makes no sense at all. I believe he needs to find another board to play on. I've yet to figure out why these people think HCP Holders are so dangerous. They are the ones that take the time to go out and take classes to be certified. They are the ones that practice with their weapons. They are the ones that are acting responsibly. Your average thug does none of these things and does what he or she wants. If I were a business owner, I would love cliental like HCP holders! Actually, the more I think about it, I think I know why these business owners are acting the way they are. The are elitists that think they know better than the rest of us. Sorta like Congressmen and Senators in Washington. Same group of people!

There was a review a few months back. The reviewer really liked it as I recall. Look here. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/handguns/18503-bersa-t-9-review-w-photos.html

Nice setup! I like to put vasoline on the cotton balls. They catch fire much easier.

Sounds like you need a nice shiny wheel gun to me!!! I like the recommendation above on the S&W 640 or maybe a nice SP101.

Sweet looking pistol! All you RIA people are starting to push me towards joining the crowd. I'm resisting though.
