The last time I was in J. Floyd, up in Sevierville, they had some Nagant ammo. If I had one, I think I'd go ahead and purchase the .32acp cylinder for it.

I don't think there is such a thing as well laid. I never get enough. I wouldn't get enough if I got it everyday!

Funny that the Colony has no firearms, but everyone they run into seems to. They had a traveling merchant pull up in one episode that had a M2 mounted on the back of flatbed truck. The merchant had a sidearm on.

Not sure about propane. That could be hard to find over an extended period of time. I'd think gasoline or diesel would be the better.

The blood and hairhave been washed off, I pretty sure!

Let's see, the ultimate Zombie Smoker comes down to two firearms. The Saiga 12ga or the Remington 870. Saiga is there because you can get large cap 12 ga mags for it and it reloads fast. The Remington 870 is there because it's ultra dependable!

Asking someone to compare a S&W 66 and a Glock 19 is like comparing Apples and oranges in my book. If it were me, I'd get the 66. Glock 19s come along every minute. 66's don't. Never owned one, but I have owned a 19. Good pistol. You won't see them anymore. BTW, if I'm facing 4 perps, I'm in a place I ain't got no business being in! But what about a home invasion, you say. That's why God created the man that designed the Remington 870. Can you hear the CHUNK, CHUNK? Better run cause some serious lead is coming your way!

You need to do a search on the internet for the information about case hardening. I know that all the machinery was purchased from Colt. Inspection of the normal stuff on the 1911a1 is all that's needed. Remember that this military grade pistol. It's not going to be all shiny and new looking. It has character.

I didn't see the Army Survival Manual there. Did down load the M14 Manual though! I'll be making some more visits soon.

No. Funds are low at the moment due to kids going back to school. So if you want it, go for it! Check it out good first though.

No they don't. I purchase mostly used because I always get a better deal. My experience is that most people purchase a firearm, maybe fire a box or two or ammo, clean it and put it in a drawer somewhere and forget about it. So you are, most of the time, getting a practicaly brand new gun. If I buy a firearm that has been shot more, I usually will ask to test fire it before I lay the money down or I'm buying it from a buddy and I know the firearm in question. Still sometimes I'll not worry about it and just purchase it after a good visual inspection. And if the firearm is what I think is overpriced, I'll make a fair offer and if it's not accepted, I'll shake their hand and walk away with a smile on my face, knowing that I didn't get screwed. That's a win in my book too. I shake their hand and smile, cause I'm a nice guy! No need to be ugly about it.

Anybody have any experience with this bag?

I like the other crap. You know the one that's cocked and locked on the floor! NICE!!! -
I thought I mentioned that. The Mum is there. If this rifle is original, then it's probably worth some money. But it also may be priced at the top of it's range. Someone else can answer that question. I really haven't a clue.

As I said in another post on the Arisaka Thread, I ain't done yet. I spotted another little item at Randy's Guns today. They have a Argentine Colt Sistema 1927. The 1927 was made in Argentina. But the Argentines purchased the Colt Machinery to make them on. These are true copies of the old 1911a1 war horses that we love so much!!! Any way, the Sistema at Randy's looks like it's in pretty good shape. There was a little wearing of the bluing, but all in all it looked to be in really good condition. In fact I may go back tomorrow and check it out some more. The price was $299. Not bad for an old war horse 1911a1. Just for grins, you all go check them out on Gunbroker.com.

I saw that! Glad you got a look at the Enfield. Wonder if Gander wll dicker on the price any at all. Thanks for the thumbs up on posting my sightings! I love the old stuff too. ARs and stuff are nice, but the old war horses are far more fun in my book! They have personality! BTW, I ain't done yet!

Hey, I was nice. Two of my best friends graduated from Gibbs. I refer to them as Gibblets! One still lives there. The moved to the big city of Halls, just down the road!

Next time I'm in there, I'll ask. Mike and I were thinking alike. Scary I know, a Gibbs guy and a Powell guy thinking alike. I figured it was tax and all.

Hey guys, when I run across old Military Firearms for sell, I'm going to start posting them here, both for discussion and so if there happens to be a collector out there, they can go check it out themselves. I did this with the 1917 Enfield the other day at Gander Mountain. Since I'm in Knoxville, that's where most of these great old firearms will be located. Also I have no idea if the firearms have been re-blued or refurbished in any way. So basically I'm just saying they look good or they look like a POS. I claim no expertise! Today I ran by Randy's Guns on Broadway/Maynardville Hwy here in Knoxville. They had a Japanese Arisaka Type 38 carbine in 6.5mm. The rifle is almost cherry in appearance. I'd rate it 90+ for that. I did not check out the bore, but the chamber and and mag looked almost new. The mum is still on the receiver and the cleaning rod is on the rifle. The price is $599 cash and carry (whatever that means). If your in the market for a Japanese rifle, this is a nice one that you might want to checkout.

SWEET! I love M14s! Congrats on a great rifle!!!

I wouldn't have had to worry about brown stains in my shorts. I'd have had a heart attack! Those guys were lucky!

We were talking about this at work yesterday and no one there had seen the original! I felt REALLY OLD!

A ton of good info on that site. I spent half of Sunday night reading about half the thread! I need to get back to it!

Kix is also doing radio. He's on WIVK every Sunday morning doing the Country Countdown. I wasn't surprised. 20 years is a long time and they've probably made more money than they know what to do with. Glad to see them go out on top! They are a class act!

I was in Gander Mountain here in Knoxville today and noticed that they have a Enfield 1917 for sale at $599. Don't know if anyone is looking. It seemed to be in nice shape. I noticed no cracks in the wood and most of the bluing was still there. It seemed to be a nice clean rifle. They also had a Columbian 1895 Mauser in 7x57. It was in fair condition at best in my book.

I think there is one for sale on Gunbroker, here in Tennessee. Let me go hunt it up. Ok I'm back. There is one in Murfreesboro that looks nice and even comes with the bayonet. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=136329287 Here is another in White House, with the Mum in place, but seems to be missing a few little things. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=136748853 Check them out. Should help with evaluating your rifle.
