  1. I have a little Onion and I love mine! My daughter found in a gravel parking lot 3 years ago in Lake Junaluska, NC and gave it to me. Been carrying it everyday since and I too constantly open and close it! Wonderful little knife!
  2. You could buy a cutter and thread the barrel yourself. If you go over to Saiga12.com, there are some guys that have a how too for barrel threading. Doesn't look that hard. Then you can but whatever brake or flash suppresser on you want. Of course, hard is a funny thing to pin down. I'm still trying to get my courage up to convert my Saiga .223 over right now. Finally got all the parts and tools. It doesn't look hard either. Just need to grow a pair and get'er done!

    Early SKS

We want pictures! Totally useless thread without pictures. We must have our Gun Porn. We are addicted. BTW, congrats on the new acquisition!
  4. Hey Ernest, how much lighter is that stock, compared to the original?
  5. That looks nice! We had another discussion about make Scout Rifles back in the summer. Ended up over 5 pages. I posted a like there to a Ishy that a fella had converted. It's here. Turn a stock bolt action into a Scout rifle - which rifle do you start with? - Page 2 - THR Now personally I don't like his, cause I think the iron sites should be left on for back up purposes. The original thread was here. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/long-guns/23433-scout-rifles-3.html Enjoy!
  6. Grateful Nation is a hunting show on ESPN that put's our wounded warriors back into the woods hunting. Currently they have a Special Forces Soldier from Covington, Tn on there. Greg Stube is his name and they are hunting Moose.
  7. You haven't been married all that long, have you.
  8. Learn something everyday on this site. Thanks for the correction!

    A 54R AK?

I can remember when they first started bringing them into the country, they were running close to $1000!
  10. The Rob Pincus video is making me rethink my home defense options now. I currently have 00 buck and 2 slugs loaded in my 870. Might change to bird shoot and two 00 bucks. I was surprised by the .223. I've always heard that a .223 would penetrate a house from end to end. Obviously that's not the case. Of course, I wonder where a .38 fits into the wall penetration realm?
  11. I actually got mine to drop right in to, BUT it was the devil getting the two posts and their screws to line up. That's another weakness of the Hi-point I see. I wish they would come up with another way getting the rifle together. Looks like that would be something someone came up with. I'd replace them in a heart beat is they did. Maybe something like the ARs use. ARs got to be the second easiest rfle to breakdown. The AK is No. 1.
  12. I don't understand how Promag stays in business, myself. I've never heard anything good about any of their products.
  13. The ATI stock needs some fitting, but it's not hard to do and can be done rather quickly. And the little carbine looks 1000% better with the ATI stock! I think it handles better too. You cannot use the Promag Hi-Cap mags unless you do some work on the plastic sleeve that encases them. Of course, Oh-Shoot is correct about the Pro-Mags. I wasted money on two of them. I understand if you tinker with them you can get them to work. Something I really don't have the time for. in hindsight I'd have rather spent the money on the factory 10 rounders. The thing that I like on the new Hi-Point Stock is the rail underneath the fore grip. That's something your going to have to modify on the ATI stock cause there is nothing to attach anything to. I'd love to put a bi-pod on mine.
  14. Dang it! I just put mine in an ATI stock about two months ago. Wish I had waited now.

If we go to a Soft Point design then we throw out the Geneva Convention. No thanks.
  17. Saiga. Then build the hell out of it!
  18. +1!!!
  19. What is it they say... This Thread is Worthless Without Pictures! Saw a man sell a High Standard Sentinel at the Gun Show in Knoxville Saturday for $120. I probably should have bought it on the spot for $130. Just wasn't what I was looking for at the moment. It wasn't in near the shape this one is in, but it was worth $130. 20. I did see a converted Saiga .223 for $400.
  21. I purchased one at the Gun Show Satuday here in Knoxville in a FTF. Turns out it's a Chinese made T53 made in 1955. I suspect that the stock has been refinished. There is a lot of shellack on it. The blue seems good. Bore is a bit dark. Going to give it a good going over this weekend and take it to the range to see what I really got. I'll post a picture soon.
  22. I bought some FFFG at Gander Mountain in Knoxville about back in August.
  23. I spent many hours in one of those during many ATs and Desert Storm. Did you put AC in it too? That was the one think lacking! The radio wasn't necessary in Saudi Arabia. Hope you got better tires too. Army procurement apparently didn't do much off-roading. The tires they issued were supposed to keep the mud from collecting in the thread. They didn't.
  24. Well, I haven't shot it yet to learn that! Going to try to get out to the range next weekend and test it out. Going to take the .22s out too. Love shooting .22s!
  25. There was some guy that was selling those little Suzuki things (except they were Dihotsos) over off Chapman Hwy in Seymour. Seems like you could get them for around $4000.
