  1. Got to agree with agt.dealer, but I've had only two. I'll not buy another one. I'd save some more money and get an AR or I'd save a few dollars and buy a Siaga and convert it. After you convert the Siaga, you will know that rifle inside and out.
  2. I've had one and won't buy another. The quality just isn't there, especially when I could buy a nice Kershaw for the same price and have 4 times the knife.
  3. Well, it's not like the person they are selling the firearm to, doesn't have to pass a background check before acquiring the firearm. That means they sell them to legitimate buyers. That's a stupid argument for the PD's to make! Besides, if they use the weapons as trade in's for new department weapons, what do they think is going to happen to them once they are traded? Obviously, they are going to be marketed in such publications as Shotgun News, as "Police Trade Ins". Either way they end up back on the street. What's the difference?
  4. I'd trade. I've never had a Yugo, but I have had a couple of the Norinco and they are super rifles. The Para is much more valuable as well. The Chrome lined barrel is another plus. Of course, if you can work it out, keep the yugo and buy the paratroop. Either way it's a good quandary to be in.

    What is this?

Great actions. A lot of people used to build rifles chambered for wildcat rounds from them. They are getting hard to find. If you look on the top of the receiver, you should be able to find a mum (it's a flower). If the mum is intact, the rifle could be worth some money. But after the war was over the U.S. Military took a lot of the captured and turned in rifles and ground the mums off. A ground off mum lessens the value of the rifle. It is a collector's piece though.
  6. Hand drilling is a difficult task to master, but it's not a bad skill to pick up! I think McGyver hit the nail on the head with his post. In addition, I usually carry a fire kit with me in the woods. It contains some PJCBs, some jute twine, fat wood and some dryer lint and most important of all one of two bic lighters. I'm going to add a mini altoids tin for making char cloth and some denim for the actual char cloth. I don't usually carry matches anymore. I do EDC a zippo lighter now. That's not for lighting cigs. I carry it for just in case.
  7. If your looking for an example of what OS is talking about, look at Germany before Hitler came to power. Then it took a wheel barrow full of Marks to buy a loaf of bread. I too, think this is merely a baby step on the downhill slide we are on now. I think we've been on it since the fall of the iron curtain. It cost us too much to defeat the Old USSR. We spent them into oblivion and then we never stopped spending. I think now it's probably too late to do anything about it. We no longer have the will to change, nor maybe even the capacity too. We are about to find out what Great Britain found out after the Suez Crisis. What it's like to be a former super power.
  8. Pics! One MUST post pics or it didn't happen!!!
  9. This is on gunbroker.com and it's a retail price. Probably not really what you would get out of it. Dan Wesson Arms 357 Model 15-2 V Pistol Pack : Revolvers at GunBroker.com Dan Wessons were outstanding pistols. A friend of mine bought a Dan Wesson with a 6" barrel and shot it head to head against another friend's Python and the Dan Wesson came out the winner.

    Ruger 77/357

You will probably foul up the chamber with lead if you feed it a steady diet of .38s. I'd love to have one of these! DANG! Just checked out the MSRP on Ruger's website! They are mighty proud of them! MSRP is $793. This should be around the $450-$500 mark. That's a bit high IMO.
  11. Might have to check them out tomorrow after work!
  12. A good way to crack the ice with your family is to have them all set down and watch this short video. Thanks for posting it!
  13. Dolomite hit the nail on the head. AR or Ak are the way to go. I'd probably AK over an AR for the idiot proofing and simplicity. I've always shot the M16 when I was in the military and on the 125th ARCOM Rifle Team I shot the M14. I now own an AK and of the three the AK is the simpliest, but probably the least accurate. I figure though that now the AK is easily found in the U.S. that you will see the accuracy on these rifles go up. Us Americans will tinker with it until we make it more accurate, just like we did with the AR.
  14. I have a pair of the the Bates Composite Toe Duty Boots and I love them. Got them for work and they are so comfortable I even hike in them. They are super light too!
  15. That's a good price for the pistol and a good price on the transfer fee.
  16. It's probably a good deal for all outdoors enthusiasts, not just hunters. Hunting is allowed in National Forests. All state laws are applicable for hunting and firearms carry. Most national forests have hiking, camping, boating, canoeing, mountain biking, etc. I see no reason to be upset by this. Most of the lands that are located on National Forests are not very useful for anything other than growing trees (which can be commercially harvested), any way. The lands are just managed by the National Forest Service for our future timber needs. Don't get National Forests confused with National Parks. They are two different entities entirely.
  17. Good luck with your campaign against the illegal 2nd Amendment gun laws there Mr. Chang. I think your going to need it with all the politicians there. And the Sheriff is probably the just the tip of the iceberg.
  18. I owned a S&W 625 with a 3" barrel one time. Good shooting pistol though. The size of it just doesn't lend itself to concealed carrier though, IMO. I think you'd be better off with a Government model .45.
  19. Yeah, the pistol that shot me would be pretty dang low on my Favorite Gun List too.
  20. Browning Hi-Power. Got it stolen in a burglary several years ago. Man, I love to have that pistol back! Great shooter!

    Rugar Old Army...????

There are always several on gunbroker.com. I'd love to have one. Hardly ever see them around here for sell.

    Scout Rifles

Sweet Scouts! I really like the first lever action!!!
  23. Hmmm, I shot over there several times a year (it's close by) and I've never had a problem with the RSO's at all. Sounds like something has changed. They like to come by and check out what I bring, but they've always been courteous and helpful.

    High Point .40 review

I had a 9mm Carbine. It was a good rifle as long as I was using Hi-point Mags. I bough after market mags and they were junk. Really fun to shot. Saidly I needed the money and I sold it. Regret it now. I'll buy another one. Thought about buying a pistol because of some of the review/reports here, but they are just too danged ugly. I suppose I will breakdown one of these days and purchase one though.
