  1. I just noticed that on the AIM website, that the can opener is no longer available with the can.
  2. Ok all you experts out there, since these cans no longer come with a can opener, how do you get them open?
  3. I'd love to have one of these, but the prices on them are ridiculous!
  4. Gunbroker.com always has them for auction. It would be a good place to start.
  5. Forgive me, but I'm pretty sure that Glock uses Polygonal Rifling too.
  6. If your going to a gunshow and expecting to find a cheap AK, you're going to be sadly disappointed. I rarely find good deals at shows anymore. If I go, I'm paying more attention to what people are carrying around, than what is on the tables. For me, I'd go with a Siaga and convert it as BKHelm said. They are probably the easiest, best quality to be had in either caliber. The conversion process is easy and you will really get to know the rifle. It's easy enough that I was able to do it!!!
  7. I own both and I love both. I don't feel the need to choose. Both are great guns. I don't think that the Glock takes less training than the 1911, just different training. The 1911 has an additional step with flipping off the safety (one time), but the Glock requires one to be much more aware of trigger movement. Both are combat accurate, which is all you need. Being a range Ninja is one thing, hitting what your aiming at in a hot situation is entirely another. To me the big difference is the number of rounds each holds. That's not a biggy for me either, because the pistol I carry the most often is .38spl Snubbie.
  8. Pictures or it didn't happen!
  9. Aren't some of the Schrade fixed blades, knock off of Chris Reeves knives? Seems like pretty much their whole series of Extreme Survival series is.
  10. One Chinese line I really like is Rough Rider. I have two of them. One's a little copperhead and the other is a Scout. The fit and finish are very good. The blades are sharp and hold up well. For $12, they are a quality pocket knife. They aren't tacticool, but I'm not much into that anymore. My Svord Peasant with black plastic scales, is about as tacticool as I get.
  11. It's been my experience that Kershaw has excellent custom service. I hope that hasn't changed. I would not be surprised if you sent it back and they went ahead and sent you a new one back.
  12. Do they make holsters for this beast? I actually plan on buying one at some point. I'd like a .45 though.
  13. 1. Browning Hi-Power 9mm 2. Springfield SS "Loaded" 1911a1- 45ACP 3. Browing Auto 5 12ga 4. Remington 521 Junior Target Rifle .22Lr 5. Colt Agent .38Spl (Gen 2)

    Norinco 1911

I had one these that was stolen and it was a real nice shooter! Congratulations on your purchase!
  15. Got to agree with agt.dealer, but I've had only two. I'll not buy another one. I'd save some more money and get an AR or I'd save a few dollars and buy a Siaga and convert it. After you convert the Siaga, you will know that rifle inside and out.
  16. I've had one and won't buy another. The quality just isn't there, especially when I could buy a nice Kershaw for the same price and have 4 times the knife.
  17. Well, it's not like the person they are selling the firearm to, doesn't have to pass a background check before acquiring the firearm. That means they sell them to legitimate buyers. That's a stupid argument for the PD's to make! Besides, if they use the weapons as trade in's for new department weapons, what do they think is going to happen to them once they are traded? Obviously, they are going to be marketed in such publications as Shotgun News, as "Police Trade Ins". Either way they end up back on the street. What's the difference?
  18. I'd trade. I've never had a Yugo, but I have had a couple of the Norinco and they are super rifles. The Para is much more valuable as well. The Chrome lined barrel is another plus. Of course, if you can work it out, keep the yugo and buy the paratroop. Either way it's a good quandary to be in.

    What is this?

Great actions. A lot of people used to build rifles chambered for wildcat rounds from them. They are getting hard to find. If you look on the top of the receiver, you should be able to find a mum (it's a flower). If the mum is intact, the rifle could be worth some money. But after the war was over the U.S. Military took a lot of the captured and turned in rifles and ground the mums off. A ground off mum lessens the value of the rifle. It is a collector's piece though.
  20. Hand drilling is a difficult task to master, but it's not a bad skill to pick up! I think McGyver hit the nail on the head with his post. In addition, I usually carry a fire kit with me in the woods. It contains some PJCBs, some jute twine, fat wood and some dryer lint and most important of all one of two bic lighters. I'm going to add a mini altoids tin for making char cloth and some denim for the actual char cloth. I don't usually carry matches anymore. I do EDC a zippo lighter now. That's not for lighting cigs. I carry it for just in case.
  21. If your looking for an example of what OS is talking about, look at Germany before Hitler came to power. Then it took a wheel barrow full of Marks to buy a loaf of bread. I too, think this is merely a baby step on the downhill slide we are on now. I think we've been on it since the fall of the iron curtain. It cost us too much to defeat the Old USSR. We spent them into oblivion and then we never stopped spending. I think now it's probably too late to do anything about it. We no longer have the will to change, nor maybe even the capacity too. We are about to find out what Great Britain found out after the Suez Crisis. What it's like to be a former super power.
  22. Pics! One MUST post pics or it didn't happen!!!
  23. This is on gunbroker.com and it's a retail price. Probably not really what you would get out of it. Dan Wesson Arms 357 Model 15-2 V Pistol Pack : Revolvers at GunBroker.com Dan Wessons were outstanding pistols. A friend of mine bought a Dan Wesson with a 6" barrel and shot it head to head against another friend's Python and the Dan Wesson came out the winner.

    Ruger 77/357

You will probably foul up the chamber with lead if you feed it a steady diet of .38s. I'd love to have one of these! DANG! Just checked out the MSRP on Ruger's website! They are mighty proud of them! MSRP is $793. This should be around the $450-$500 mark. That's a bit high IMO.
