  1. GB axes are the Cat's meow! Congrats on a superb piece of gear! Sell the knife and buy a Henry Lever action or a Ruger 10/22. You'll get more use out of that.
  2. Sell it and go buy another firearm.

    Saiga's Cheap

That's great price on the 922r conversion! I did my own and I have about $520 in mine including mags. What convinced me to do my own was when I called up Coal Creek to get them to do it and they wanted something $600 for the conversion alone. Decided I'd just give it a whirl myself and as BK said it's so easy a monkey could do it! They are great rifles! Wouldn't mind having one in 5.45X39. My rifle is a .223.

    HiPoint Carbine

They are neat little carbines. The one thing you must do is only buy the manufacturer's mags. All others suck. That means your limited to 10 rounds. But I still had fun with them. They're fun to mod too!
  5. GReat looking pistol! I didn't realize that AMT copied the Ruger.
  6. And Rand will have a better chance of winning than his dad ever had or will. I agree with OS, vote in the primary for who you think is best and then vote for whoever the Republican winner is. SCOTUS is too important to give up to Obama in November. For those that think there will be a Revolution in this country, ya'll better break out the Reynold's Wrap and make your hats. I heard all this crap when Clinton was elected the first time. Saw all the militias formed all across this land and then saw the aftermath of the Federal Building in Oklahoma City. I saw people realize what could happen and then back away from the "brink". There will never be another Revolution in this country.
  7. These are Finns,right?
  8. For ease of maintence and after market parts available, I think the AK is one of the best deals out there. And the best deal on AK's, especially if you like to tinker, is to buy the Saiga and convert it back to what it was meant to be, a battle rifle! They are fun to do and if you are even remotely familiar with tools, easy. I went with the TAPCO Infusion System for mine. I'm not a traditionalist when it comes to Battle Rifles. I like them to look a bit cool as long they still do what they're supposed to do.
  9. If your worried about a SHFT situation and finding ammo, then go with a Saiga in .223. Problem solved. It's not the reason I bought a .223 Saiga, I just like the caliber better and AK's a cheaper than Mini 14s and ARs. Also I think the more people here in the states play with AK's and work on them, the more accurate they are going to get.
  10. Sounds like they are following in the footsteps of SIG. I would love to hear a review of one. I checked out S&W's website though and I don't think I would pay the MSRP for one. But then again I would never pay MSRP for any firearm.
  11. What kind of shape is it in?
  12. If you want to save a bit of money go with the Saiga. If money is no object, go with the Arsenal.
  13. I hate to hear that. Seems like more and more, in this economy, the big corporations are no longer taking care of their employees. I feel your pain. I don't work on commission, but I do work for a company of 65,000 and we've had our benefits cut way back. They no longer pay for any kind of insurance, so the employees are now footing all the bill. I'm middle of the road pay wise, I feel sorry for our lower paid staff. It hurt us pretty bad, IT had to hurt them even worse! Of course, our stockholders are happy up on Wall Street.
  14. That's great news. Nice to see that the City Council is amenable to changing old and out dated laws.
  15. One of the reasons I will never live in the Northeast, Illinois or California. The water in all those places is contaminated!
  16. I got to say the Obama Administration stepped on it, with this issue. They couched it in the wrong terms. Now they have reversed the issue and are now going about it on another track. One that will win in the long run. I have to agree with you Mike, regardless of how they do it, we will being paying the price for it. But I would rather pay that price, than spend the money over 18 years paying for a child someone really didn't want. It's a lot cheaper in the long run. Will it end all unwanted pregnencies? Nope, I think we all know the answer to that. But it will eliminate a lot of them. I'm not happy with Obama Care, but something needs to be done in this country about health care. The company I work for pays NOTHING towards health care now. They do get us some sort of discount, because we have 65,000 employees and the insurance companies are slobbering over themselves to get to all that money. For my family and I, we are spending $11,400 for insurance a year, plus another $2000 for a health savings card for drugs, co-pays, glasses, etc. If you are in business for yourself and your spouse doesn't have coverage where they work either, then you know the costs of insurance. But for the vast majority of those that work were a company provides some or most of their insurance coverage, then I wonder if you really do know the cost. I pay more in health care coverage a month than I do for my freakin' house! And the cost keeps going up. We had a 15% raise in rates over 2011. I expect it to be the same next year.
  17. If either party isn't playing ball with us, then I'm all for sending them a message. Maybe Mr. McCormick or Ms. Harwell doesn't need their positions at the end of November. A vote the other way for Pro-Gun Reps, regardless of party seems to be in order here.
  18. It'll have a heck of a kick too! Might want to consider an upgrade to the Nancy Pad!
  19. This law makes no sense to me. Why can't you have one in the chamber in a car, in a long arm? In my mind, a long arm is pretty much useless in the close confines of a car any way.
  20. This is why I plan to hold my mose and vote for whoever is the Rupublican Candidate for President. We are not really voting for President here. We are voting for the the next couple of Supreme Court Justices to be named later, whoever they may be.
  21. Thanks for the other links guys!
  22. After reading the story, I doubt that the homeowner will face any charges in the end, I pretty sure that here in Knoxville, the police would buy his lunch! That sort of stuff just doesn't happen here.
  23. But this thread wasn't talking about a natural disaster. It was talking about a take over of the Government by the President.
  24. I do think there are scenarios where the Federal Government might declare martial law, but all those scenarios are quite drastic and none are because a President decided to make himself King for life. The examples I think are likely are really only two. The least likely event I see is a nuclear attack by a hostile Government. Now I think the likelihood of that actually happening is pretty remote, because there are only two countries in the world capable of taking us "out"; China and Russia of course. China probably won't do this, because we are the largest buyer of goods coming out China. Why cook the proverbial "Golden Goose"? So that doesn't really make sense to me. Russia has too many internal troubles they are fighting presently, to be mounting any kind of a nuclear attack on us and even if that wasn't the case, they want to be where China is now, with them selling as much of their domestic product to us as feasible. So we are back to the Golden Goose argument again. Actually, I think the other scenario is much more likely to happen, because the country that hates us the most is about to go nuclear. That scenario involves exploding around 2 to 5 nuclear warheads a hundred miles or more above the North American Continent and destroying all our electronic infrastructure. Then you will have a mass die off, because we are no longer set up to move food and other supplies around this county without adequate communications and computers, in order to feed the masses. Most cities in this country, only have enough food to feed their populations, in the stores, for 4 or 5 days at the most. Then it's starvation time. Of course, said county has to know it will cease to exist if it does something like that, but I am worried that their leadership doesn't really care about that. So I think an EMP attack is the most likely scenario of declare martial law. I don't really see Washington being able to effectively control the country regardless of could transpire, even under OS's Financial Collapse Theory. There are two many people, flung across a huge country, for even a large Army to pacify. It's just not feasible. As for a President setting himself up as King for Life, in order for that to happen the Military would have to go along with it and I don't see that happening either. And if they did go along with it, what's to stop them from going whole hog and deposing the New King for Life and becoming a Military Junta? Another thing would stop a President from becoming King for Life is the Financial Institutions in this county, because dictators and Junta's are bad for business. They would just stop the money flow and after it all dried up, then the King for Life or the Junta will fall apart. Change in this country will come through society and not because a man wanted to become King For Life. I'm not worried at all about that. As for militias and such, most of those type groups are a bunch of Wannabes led by slightly smarter person than their group (which isn't saying much) or religious fanatics that I have no use for. Thanks, I'll just rely on my family and friends and watch the skies for a couple of real brilliant burst of light.
