California To Pass Bill Restricting BB Guns
Moped replied to RobertNashville's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
This is what I did with my kids. When they ask,I will get them out, go through the whole retinue of checking the chamber or cylinder. I give the lecture about how you must always assume a firearm is always loaded, until proven otherwise by your own eyes. Then we will sit down and discuss whatever the topic is ad nauseum, until they are bored. We also go to the range when possible. None of my kids are "gun nuts" like me, but they all know what they are used for and how they work. They are respectful, not scared. -
Man Who Carried AK-47 Pistol In Park Loses Appeal
Moped replied to MikePapa1's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
It's my opinion that the LEO's figured it out WAY TOO QUICK! Instead of 2 1/2 hours it should have taken 48 hours, but only for Leonard. -
If you are kind of crafty, you can take the sheaths and make them a lot better. A lot of people make danglers out of them. Here are some links. http://willowhavenoutdoor.com/general-survival/mora-knife-modifications /http://pig-monkey.com/2009/12/05/mora-sheath-modification http://berserkersbushcraft.blogspot.com/2009/02/mora-mod-ii.html These are just a few. There are tons out there. You can find more by going to your favorite search engine (I encourage BING,snce Google has become unfriendly to anything resembling a weapon) and typing in Mora Sheath Mods.

Great knife for the money! The three I have came scary sharp! I have the Classic #1, 511 and a 780 triflex (out of production). They are a scandi grind, and they make great slicers and carvers and are easy to keep sharp. I suggest checking some Youtube videos on how to sharpen a scandi grind. It's really easy. They aren't the thickest blade in the world, but people do baton with them. The spine is usually unfinished, so if you want to use it with a fire steel, you will have to take a file and square it up some. The sheaths are crap, that's C-R-A-P! I recommend you make one or purchase one online. There are several kydex makers on EBAY and the Companion is a very common Mora. So you should be able to pick one up at a reasonable price. It will be more than the knife costs though. They make a great hiker's knife, due to there light weight. The best place on the web to get Mora's is at www.ragweedforge.com. Ragnar runs it and he is a super person to deal with. He charges $6 for shipping on up to 6 knives and mostly deals with Scandinavian style knives like Helle, Mora and EKA.

Which issues are most important to you?
Moped replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
1. Economy 2. Government Spending 3. Upholding the Constitution -
Of the four you listed, I'd go first for the G17 and then the Remington R1. I'd get them both. I happen to be one of those fairly odd individuals that own and like both pistols, though my .45 is a Springfield. You can't go wrong with either one.

Pretty cool looking pocket pistol! If it shoots as good as it looks, then it was $75 well spent!

Good to see this happening. As hard as the University of Tennessee fights carry laws here, I can't see them following UoC's excellent example, should our state law's ever catch up to Colorado's! -

You are probably looking at around $1000 for a complete setup, Mike. I use a Philips Resoironics CPAP, with a humidifer and a Mirage Quattro full face mask. I've been on my machine since February and I do pretty well. I usually get a good 6 hours of REM sleep a night according to the Dr. My starting pressure was 19, but they lowered it three weeks ago to 17. I can't tell any difference in my sleep, but the pressure is less. They will tell you, you will get used to it in a week or two. It took me more like 3 months, before I was wearing it all night long. In order for the mask to seal properly at 19, my head gear was really tight. Since the pressure was dropped to 17, I've been able to loosen it a bit and it's a little more comfortable. My wife complained about my snoring for several years. Last fall, my cousin died in her sleep at the age of 37. We believe that Apnea played a large part in her death. I decided I needed to get checked. The first sleep test, they hooked me up to all the electrodes and I drifted off to sleep for a couple of hours. They woke me up and informed me that I had severe apnea. I got a mask and they started testing. I found it extremely claustrophobic and fought it. So I had to come back for another test. I am really glad I stuck it out though. Before I started using the CPAP machine, I'd catch myself taking naps at work. Worse than that, I would drift off to sleep driving home on I640!!! I don't have those problems anymore. Go take the test, Mike. Go see your normal Doctor and have him refer you! It's worth it!

Love bbq! M&M is great, especially with XXX sauce, but you better have on your big boy pants to eat it! Dead End is especially good as well! And for good bbq and a excellent Hot Fudge Cake, Buddy's is hard to beat for the price! The HFC makes Shoney's taste like garbage! Best brisket is at Famous Dave's. We cater that a lot at work. I wouldn't walk across the street for Calhoun's bbq. Now their Smokehouse Salad is awesome goodness!

Well put Mark! -
http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2012/aug/18/suspects-in-deputy-killings-linked-to-extremists/ The Sheriff is saying that the suspects are linked to the Sovereign Nation Movement. I heard that mentioned with the Sihk killings last week. I don't think that was massacre was connected to them, but they were brought up as an example of other groups that might be capable of domestic terrorism.

This! Hopefully the dust will settle after the election!

Frankly, all of them need to go. I am ashamed that Haslem came from Knoxville. Though I do have to stand with Jonin on the religious and moral legislation that seems to pervade the Conservative movement.

Man that sucks! Sounds like you are going to have to get a Lawyer. You might talk to the logging company and let them know that they are expected to keep the road open at all times and the ditch and drains clean and if they don't, then they will be included in any legal action too. If you sue the land owner, they need to be sued as well, since they are the ones actually screwing the road up, at his behest.

Might vote for him just to give the Dems a black eye, if he is still on the ticket come November. Otherwise he is a tool.

Want to get rid of Debbie Wasaman Shultz's???
Moped replied to kieefer's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Don't hate her, but I do find her irritating. But I got to agree with OS, that she ain't going anywhere. Best to marginalize her, by voting in a filibuster proof republican majority in both houses along with Romney. -
They are rare and very popular.
-
You are correct! I need to add that to my list.

I really like this little knife! It's one of the ones I'm considering for my next fixed blade. Thanks for sharing!

Nah. Never going to happen.
