  1. Man, what a steal!!! Congrats on the purchase! Go get one for us this year!!!
  2. I've often thought of buying one of these for a truck gun, but I doubt I would send the money on one to have this done! It could be better spent other places. It does look pretty cool though.
  3. We want to see pictures! No picture=didn't happen! That's a hell of a deal!
  4. I would look at either a Ruger MkII/III or a Ruger Single Six or Nine. I think either would make a fine Bugout Firearm. Team either with a pistol scope and they would be tack drivers!
  5. This I will not do. I will look at each candidate and vote for the one that best represents my beliefs. No party should ever take my vote for granted. I have been known to vote for a democrat or two and I did not vote for either John McCain or Obama in the last election. Rather for Bob Barr, who was on the Libertarian ticket. I will vote for Mitt this time, because I think it's very important to maintain a conservative Supreme Court. Otherwise I don:t really care for him. And the only election I would vote for Feinstein in, would be in the election to kiss my butt. Same goes for Pelosi, and Rush Limbaugh.
  6. It's the only reason I am voting for Romney and not Johnson, this election. We can not afford for Obama to place anymore of his nominees on the SC.
  7. Only the losers bring out the "Fair Fight" argument afterwards. When I fight, I never intend for it to be fair. Of course, the last fight I got into was in 6th grade and that was 38 years ago. That wasn't fair either. I sucker punched him after, he popped me in the back of the head.and started to walk away.

  9. I'm an unlicensed gun holder and wish to remain one!!!
  10. Dang, that long ago?!?!? There was a huge spring on my parent's farm, and it was loaded with watercress. They say that watercress only grows in clean water and that it's presence usually means the water is pollution free.
  11. So went from talking about an Assault Rifle Ban to education on the same question. How are hiring more teachers going to stop violence?
  12. Watercress can be eaten in a salad. Try mixing with Dandelion greens. Also the outer shell of rose hips are edible and are high in Vitamin C.
  13. The FR-8 was built on a 98 action and the FR-7 was built on a 93 action. The 98 is the stronger of the two actions. The Spanish version of the 7.62x51 NATO round was a bit tamer than the we use. I had a FR-7 and it wasn't a bad little rifle. It was quite handy for pick-up duty. Sadly, that was in my young dumb days and I traded it off. I would rather have the FR-8 though. I'd love to add one of those to my collection.

Biden looks like a "full moon"!!!
  15. Pretty cool! Do that have speed-loaders for them yet?
  16. I hate that there are no open sites. Ruger has the Rotary Mag down cold. I wouldn't worry about that.
  17. No, they are just being proactive. I'd say every major retailer has a plan like this. Makes sense too. It happened both times Bill Clinton was elected and it happened when Obama was elected the first time. And I think it will happen again if he is re-elected in November. Nothing says it won't.
  18. First of all Alex Jones is a con artist. However, the Government wants to get rid of firearms, I think this is how they will do it. They will never outlaw guns in this nation, because the Constitution will not allow it. However, they could and probably will outlaw ammunition sales at some point and I bet you dollars to donuts that will stand up to Constitutional scrutiny. Now it all the bullets won't be gone overnight obviously, but at some point, we all will stop shooting, to save the ammo we all have stockpiled. And at some point, later on, most firearms will only be worth the price of scrap metal, so you will see gun buy back programs that will actually work. No need to call out the Military, National Guard or LE, for such a campaign. Over a period of time, gun control won't matter. When they start talking restrictions on ammunition, start getting VERY worried, because if it ever passes, out gooses are cooked.
  19. There are lots a great pistols out there that could be just as good or even better. I happen to love the 1911, but I don't consider it to be the be all, end all. I also own a Glock that I love. I had a Browning Hi-Power that was a fantastic pistol until it was stolen in a break-in. I'd love to have another!!! I also love Colt revolvers and would not in the least feel undergunned with one. Matter of fact, the pistol I carry the most is a Second Generation Colt Agent .38spl.
  20. I'll take the Ford. It's a heck of lot cheaper to maintain, repair and more reliable. Plus it still gets me where I need to go. Listen, I have no doubt they are all great pistols, I just don't see myself spending that much on one, knowing that its not going to make my shooting that much better. All I care about is defensive accuracy and reliability in a pistol. If I need gnat's rectum accuracy, well that's what a rifle is for.
  21. Hell, I'd shoot it. It's still a Garand!!! Jsut got different cloths on, is all. You all just hain' on TactiCOOL!!!
  22. Anyone every ignore Remington's "suggestion" that they send the rifle in to be fitted for another barrel and just put another barrel on themselves? Is there really a need to send it to Remington for a fitting?
  23. Knowledge is KING! Start a good book collection. Pick up "How-To" Manuals about everything. Books like the Foxfire series should be on the list. Even Magazines like The Backwoodsmen, Mother Earth News and others along those lines should be part of the collection. Don't dismiss any topic out of hand. Even simple topics like hunting, trapping, animal husbandry, sewing, cooking and simple carpentry should be included. Books take up a lot of room, but could easily be worth their weight in gold or whatever the currency of the day is, if you have the right material. Whether you are bugging in or bugging out dedicate a room where ever you going to live to knowledge. Books can also be entertainment, so don't be afraid to pick up works of fiction as well. Find out what your family likes to read and let them pick out books to keep as well. A stock of children's books would be good. Pick up primers and old school text books and maps. In a long term situation, schools still need to go on. You don't want your kids to grow up ignorant. When society starts putting itself back together (which will happen) having material like this will help everyone and make you an invaluable part of that society. If everything totally collapses, then libraries will be worth raiding for the knowledge they will hold. They may not be high on the priority list early on, but they will be invaluable later on!
  24. Hey, I got some stuff I wouldn't mind trading or selling! I'd be up for it!
