  1. I'm good, but I have curtailed range time for the duration of the situation.  I am considering picking up an air rifle and possibly an air pistol to keep my practice up. Pellets are cheap and you still go through the basics of marksmanship.
  2. Let them cut everything at this point.  They keep talking about the Pentagon Civilians getting furlowed 22 days and losing 20% of their pay.  Well I'm sorry, but back in 2008, I had my hours cut from 40 to 32 a week in order to save the jobs of other employees.  It hurt like hell, but I didn't see Government Employees having to go through that, then.  Just because you work for the Government, doesn't make you any more special than anyone else.  They will survive just like my family and I did then.
  3. If that doesn't work, you might want to consider a new trigger group, just to get rid if the problem.
  4. I keep 2 35 round mags loaded.  Figure if I initially need more than 70 rounds, I'm in a world of hurt anyway.  Honestly, my Saiga is not my go to HD weapon any way.  First is a revolver and a Glock, then a Remngton 870 with 00 and slugs.
  5. I think the RAT 1 is the best bang for your buck in a large folder!  It's built like a tank!
  6. Glad to see another company start to target Anti-2nd Amendment Governments!!!  I wish we'd see a lot more of them!
  7. Maybe he should just go ahead and move there and get away from all us scary gun owners!  Heck, I'd chip in for a share of his plane ticket!
  8. Agreed.  Very weak stance.  I don't disagree that LEOs everywhere deserve good equipment.  Unfortunately, the ones in anti-2nd amendment states are paying the price for the stance of the ones above them and their politicians.  Hopefully, they will start voting these individuals out of office and right things for all citizens, not just the few.  Armalite seems more interested in making a buck, than they do in the future of their company.  Let them choke on the dollars from the states of California, New york and Massachusetts.
  9. What a bag of hot air!!!  He has a right to speak his mind as a citizen, but in his role as public official and chief LEO in Chicago, that is telling people that he considers them criminals.  We are starting to see that slippery slope.  What's next?  Is LE going to start policing Facebook and firearms forums looking for gun owners espousing the 2nd Amendment?  Is the city of Chicago going to subpoena NRA and other Gun rights Organizations for membership lists in their jurisdiction?
  10. Been there done that and understand.  You can always carve some grooves in the wood to help with grip or add some sort of tacky finish.  That's one of the beauties of the Opinel, they are easily customized.   Another alternative might be either a large Trapper or Muskrat pattern in a Case or whatever brand of slip-joint you happen to like.
  11. I'd go with a large Case Sodbuster or an Opinel in which ever metal you prefer. Both come in either SS or carbon and both are thin enough to filet a fish or cut taters.  The case will run you about $30+ and the Opinel will run you a around $12.  The Case will be much heavier in the pocket than the Opinel,
  12. Thanks!  Just gave them my support and invited them to move here!
  13. You mean you want them to shoot themselves in the arse, cause that's what they are thinking out of!!! ;)
  14.  Post the FB page! I'll like it and post on it!!!
  15. I like carbon steel because it's easy to sharpen and stay sharp. Once I learned how to sharpen a knife, found it to be a pleasure to do. They may not hold and edge as long as super steels, but I also don't have to spend a couple hours putting the edge back.  I've sorta drifted away from all the fancy stuff.  I do have and carry some stainless steel knives often, but most of them are the old 440 variety and they seem to do well with me.  Currently, my EDC rotates from a Case Sodbuster (truestarp stainless), to an Opinel No. 9 (carbon), to a Svord Peasant (carbon) and a Camillus U.S. Pocket knife (also known as a Demo Knife and it's Stainless).  A RAT 1 resides in my work Sling bag and it's AUS8.
  16. Apparently committed suicide.  Such great talent and two young children... tragic. :(   http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/17/mindy-mccready-dead-at-37_n_2708409.html
  17. Any clue on where they will move, once this bill is passed?  I sure don't see it not passing or the Governor vetoing it, since the Democrats control the House and Senate and the Governor supported it from the get go.  It would be nice to see them here in Tennessee!
  18. And I am not going to feel sorry for them one bit either!!!  Know what you are buying before you fork over the money.
  19. TMF, I hope you are correct.  Sadly, I think that most people would just ignore it, like everything else.  They are too busy, watching reality TV to pay attention to what their Government bodies are doing to their rights.  Or they don't give a damn as long as that monthly check comes in.
  20. If this passes, I could see this being quickly challenged in the Supreme Court. I believe this was one of the reasons we fought a successful revolution.
  21. MidwayUSA is my go to place for ordering stuff on the internet!!!
  22. I just posted on Winchester, Federal, Remington, and Riger's Facebook page asking them to boycott states that have passed Anti 2nd Amendement legislation.  If you have Facebook pages and are not doing this as well, please think about doing so. This is quick and easy to do and lets them know that if they do this, they will have public support.
  23. None of those bills were reasonable.  I hope Magpul stands by their word and pulls out of Colorado.  I hope other manufacturer's do the same. Remington is in a position to do this in New York as they already have a plant in Kentucky.  I would love to see other companies do the same in states that are not 2nd Amendment friendly and also stop selling to LE in those states as well.  I understand that it will not be an overnight thing.  In fact I think it wouild take years in some cases for these companies to move out of state.  And I hate to see their employees lose their jobs, but the States in question brought it on theirselves for failing to follow the Constitution. People should think about that when they vote for stupid politicians.   This is the first push back from our side.  We should highly encourage it!
  24. RAT 1 for the money is a super deal!  I carry one in my sling bag.  However I carry a Case Large Sodbuster in my pocket or a Camillus U.S folder in my pocket.  Just don't need a large lock blade setting at a desk.
  25. AWESOME!!! Now we need the big three to step up to the plate!!!  We need S&W, Glock and Sig Sauer to step up to the plate and do the samething!!! I went to each of the Big Three's Facebook pages and posted this.  I urge all of you that have FB pages and to do the same!!!   S&W, Glock and Sig Sauer, we need you to support other firearms and firearms accessories manufacturers and sellers, in standing up to tyrannical Federal, State and Local governments that do not support the 2nd Amendment and the Constitution of the United States of America. Please join the boycott and stop selling your products to those entities. If we lose this fight, not only do we, the citizens of the United States, stand to lose a vital individual right, but you, as a company, stand to lose profits from private individual sells! Please join forces with the other companies that have already stepped up and are boycotting these Government bodies!!!
