  1. I believe some one's been reading LotR...
  2. You know, part of almost wishes they would try, so all this crap would come to an end.
  3. When the Senate Budget Bill gets to the House, the House Leadership will place it in the Mens Room for TP and since we all know Pelosi pees standing up, she uses the Mens Room since it has urinals.   As to Hillary being the next President, I have my doubts.  I don't think her health is going to allow her to run.
  4. The budget bill the Senate passed, will be used as toilet paper in the House of Representatives Mens room by Nancy Pelosi.  It never had a chance of passage and therefore the amendment is moot.  Personally, I'm not too worried about this treaty thing at the moment.  But once Obama signs, the treaty and sends it to the Senate it will be there indefinitely, just waiting on the Democrats to pick up the needed seats in the next election. Then it will be ratified and we'll all be screwed!   Now I'm worried! :(
  5. I carry a couple of lighters, a firesteel, some dryer lint, some jute twin, charcloth and a small tin to make more, PJ cotton balls and some Chaga (it's a fungus that grows up in the Northern climes that will take a spark.  I'd also carry a bit of fat wood if I could find some.
  6. Dang good price too!
  7. I don't worry too much about what my bag looks like.  I have a three day assault pack for my GHB in coyote brown.  The way I figure it, I'm only going to be using this thing in a SHTF situation, so I don't really care what or who I might intimidate or make uncomfortable. That being said, I have considered getting a commercial civilian stylebag, for the simple reason, that most of them are a lot more comfortable to carry than a military style bag, since they tend to have a much better waist belt that allows you to carry most of the weight on the hips, instead of the shoulders.   Personally, reading your all's list of contents, I think you all are carrying too much. I suggest, you take your GHB out for a weekend hike or even just a day hike with a gallon of water and all the food you think you will need to get home. Weigh your bag after it's packed, along with all your food and water.  I limit my weight to no more than 30 lbs total (less is best). A third of that weight will be my food and water (a gallon of water weights in at around 8 lbs). The pack itself will weight another 4 or 5 lbs usually. So I figure I have 15 lbs to use on shelter, a sleep system, FAK, a knife, cordage, dry socks, fire kit and misc. stuff that I think I need.   While you are out, make good notes of what was used and what was not.  When you get back re-evaluate your pack contents and I bet you will lose half that stuff.  Maybe you change your GHB to suit the season.  An example is a wool blanket.  That's good for winter, but you are carrying around 5 to 10 lbs of weight.  Maybe for the late spring, summer and early fall, you trade it out for a light weight fleece bag (about a lb). They also make some lightweight winter bags, that weigh less than a couple of lbs.
  8. Great news, but the fight is not over!  We need to keep the pressure on the politicians and defeat the rest of the nonsense being spewed out of Washington right now!!!
  9. 6 rounds is enough for me.  I like to sport an old school Colt .38 Agent, with a couple of speedloaders.  Plenty accurate enough for what I need it for (Half a minute of man).  Fits nicely in a coat pocket or a pants pocket or rides will on a belt.  It has a great trigger too.
  10. Just wow!!!  I am officially avoiding all areas north of Virginia now.
  11. Before you un-friended her, I hope you let her know why you were un-friending her!
  12. How have you manage to reach your advanced age without owning a SAK?
  13. I love the statement where Col. State Rep. Rhonda Fields said “I’m hoping that people will just comply with the law." What world does this dumb butt live in?  Criminals already DO NOT COMPLY WITH THE LAW!!!  Effin Moron!!!
  14. Without national registration, there is no way anything in that bill can be enforced.  Unless you have bought your firearms through an FFL, the paper trail on most used firearms is very cold.
  15. We had brick dormitory style buildings at Ft. Dix.  When I got to Ft. Belvior, we were in the old WWII style barracks.  Jeez what fire hazards!!!  I hated the reception station.  Had to be the longest 5 days of my life.  I picked up the smoking habit there, just to relieve boredom.
  16. Colorado Citizens have already started recall petitions for a number of their State Representatives.  I could see this becoming another Wisconsin situation   BTW, can there be immigration policy on Californians moving into our state?  I sure don't want to see Tennessee go the way California!!!
  17. Oh no!  Now there will be a shortage of SIGS and HK!!!!
  18. If this is built with the same quality as the RAT 1, then this one will be another great knife to have!!!  I really like my RAT 1!!!
  19. I'm pretty sure I said I was in already, but jsut in case I didn't, I'm in, if I am not shuttling kids around to various ball fields in the area.
  20. http://www.politico.com/story/2013/03/murphy-to-nascar-drop-nra-sponsorship-88579.html   What a Richard Cranium!!! ;(
  21. I had my basic training at Ft. Dix, NJ (Should have been named Ft. S#$thole, NJ), and not once did I have KP.  We had one poor old guy (he was 34 and a school teacher from Vermont), that got it 4 times!  I never did understand how they did the KP roster.  The thing I remember about BT was they asked for volunteers for a construction project and wanted Heavy Equipment Operators.  They ended up with 4 volunteers, who were taken around the back of the barracks.  A few minutes later, they came back around pushing wheel barrows.  Lesson learned was never volunteer!    Actually, I did volunteer for Guard Duty, at a motor pool.  We drew our weapons and one magazine with 3 rounds in it (that was for all 6 of us, we had to turn the magazine over to the next shift.  It was about 3 in the morning and I had been on guard duty for about 45 minutes, walking back and forth in front of the main gate of the motor pool, when I heard someone rushing up to the gate, so I challenged them.  It was our CO. XO  and he demanded to be let into the motor pool. Of course, he wasn't on the access list, he kept on demanding to be let in, so I charge my rifle and made him get down in the front leaning rest position and started yelling my head off to the Sargent of the Guard (our Drill Sargent), who after about 3 or 4 minutes came down out of the tower next to the gate.  I explained to him what was going on and he told me to carry on and that he would handle it from there.  I swear I think the Drill was either asleep or was punishing the LT, since the man had to stay in the front leaning rest position until he came down out of the tower and found out what was going on.  I will never know which.   That same LT was about 6'-6" tall and he would lead us on the road marches.  That man could MOVE  you didn't want to be the last platoon in the column or you were playing catch up all the time, because the column moved like an accordion!
  22. Personally, I don't think there is a defense against drones right now.  That's why they are so successful.  Apparently, the bad guys never know there is one coming until it is too late to do anything about it.   My personal feeling about this is, I have no problem with the police using a drone to take out a bad guy, if he or she is an immediate threat to innocent civilians or LE.  That is justifiable. Nor do I have a problem with how they go after Americans that are part of AQ and who are in other countries and beyond the reach of our law. What I have a problem with is using a drone to take out a U.S. Citizen, on U.S. soil that has not had an opportunity to surrender and turn himself or herself over to authorities and have their case pleaded in court.  That is making those in charge, Judge, Jury and Executioner.  That is against the Constitution and Laws of this country, regardless how those in power in Washington, try to justify it.  Bush started us on this slippery slope and we continue to slide on down it.  Obama and his ilk have done nothing to stop the process.  This is one of the reasons I think they are all the same.   What blows my mind is how Holder goes on and on about how we must uphold the law or we cease being a Nation of Laws, but when it suits him, he ignores the law.  And make no mistake about it, the only reason he finally came out and said that it would not be legal was because he was forced into a cornerRand Paul and other members of Congress on both sides and had no other choice.  His statement in the end, was even like a petulant child's response, who has lost an argument with his parent.  If he had really thought that way in the beginning, he would have come out and said it the first time.
  23. A little NAA is on my list of guns to have.  The only derringer I have ever owned was a little Hi-Standard in .22 Mag.   Nice little piece for what it was.  I sold if back in the 90's.  It was actually one of the pistols I have regretted selling over the years.  At the time, I didn't have much use for it. My thoughts on concealed carry have changed over the years.

    Taurus 82

Don't expect S&W  fit and finish. That being said, they are a good sturdy pistol.
  25. You know, I knew a good many married guys in the Army, that were whores too. My experience was it works both ways.  Women should know the guys they marry too.  If he is fooling around on her, before they got married, odds are he is afterwards too.  Personally, I don't have a lot of respect for either case.
