Just saw the video on TV. From the sound of the first kick, till he was beating her up, was about 5 seconds. He beat her a couple of times. Kicked her in the face at least once. Went through the house while she was stunned. Then he saw the ring on her finger, beat her some more, stole the ring and then picked her up and threw her down the basement steps. He did all this in front of the 4 year old. She did not scream, because she was afraid if she did, her child would start screaming too and he might harm the child. She literally had no time to retrieve a firearm, unless she was actually carrying in on her person. You all should find the video and watch it. It will make you think about how much time you actually have to react.

Extreme Danger: Brady Liberal With A Gun
Moped replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I just went up to see if Ms. posted my comment which I sent on the 17th. The comment I posted was courteous, thoughtful and I thought insightful. However the censors at Ms. have not posted it. Nor at this point do I think they will. The did inform the brainless anti-gun droolers that Ms. was not going to be posting the rest of the her segments. The Huffington Post is going to. So you all might want to start checking there. -
Long dang way to be traveling in a SHTF situation. Got quite a few rivers to cross and not a lot of bridges. Those are natural choke points and points of control for whoever has the power to control them.

Do they not have Codes Enforcement in Rutherford County? That's who should be serving the warrants. That is not a LE duty. Now I could see a Deputy coming a long with the Codes Enforcement Official, if the property owner is violent or threatening. Spots, you probably shouldn't live in a city, brother. Just sayin' ! :)

Dolomite, you can have your water tested. There are several labs in the are that will come out and test it for you, if you don't trust the state to do it. There are even kits you can purchase, for such things. http://www.watertestingusa.com/pages/knoxville.html http://www.microbac.com/our-laboratories/knoxville-division/ You can Bing the Drinking Water Test Kits. But they are out there and affordable. One other thing, some one mentioned sometimes having a strong smell of chlorine in their water. Whenever there is a break in the waterline, the utility may increase the dose of chlorine to avoid contamination of drinking water for a period of time. I am on KUB water and I find mine to be as good as bottled water. As a matter of fact, I rarely drink bottled water. I consider it a big waste of money and it empty bottles take up a ton of space in our landfills. It drives my wife and kids crazy, because I won't buy it.

Yeah, you are right. That's what we did, performed renditions and sent them to other countries for interrogations. I believe we have some CIA Agents that can no longer travel abroad because there are are warrants for their arrest in Italy. So imagine that China could do the same thing. The thing is, if we hadn't been spying and gathering intelligence on our own people, the Government wouldn't be worrying about all this in the first place. BTW, interesting article in the Washington Post about the FISA courts, today. http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/for-secretive-surveillance-court-rare-scrutiny-in-wake-of-nsa-leaks/2013/06/22/df9eaae6-d9fa-11e2-a016-92547bf094cc_story.html Seems like this is some sort of Secret Tribunal working in our country, one that's not transparent to the citizens of this country

Living in the city and being a property owner I see it both ways, though I don't see this as a police matter. I believe LE has better things to do, than to service warrants like this. Especially, when that is Codes Enforcement's job. I agree with DaveTn's post regarding the city sending a couple of notices and then doing the work themselves and sending the property owner the bill afterwards. If the property owner doesn't want to pay that bill, then the city has the right to sell the property on the courthouse steps. As a property owner, you have a responsibility to your neighbors to maintain your property, because that affects the value of their property as well as yours. It's not like living out in the country, where a pasture field may separate you and your neighbor. My neighbor's houses are 30' from mine on either side of me. And while you do have the choice to move away from such people, are you willing to take a loss on your investment, because your neighbor is a lazy SOB and refuses to mow his yard or keep his property cleaned up? When it comes to dollars lost, I think most of us would come down on the city's side in this.

Well since he left China, he must not have known much.

Personally, I hope he is making the whole thing up, because if he wasn't and what he stated is true, then we are well on our way down that slippery slope of no return. I have to agree with Glock55 about one thing though. If you are going to point fingers you better stand up when the time comes. The fact that not one person allowed the state to come in and test their water was not a good thing at all. I've worked with TDEC in the water/wastewater industry for a long time and I have to agree that they get very concerned about this sort of stuff and they want to see these utility districts run right. However, that's no reason to call someone a terrorist and have them thrown into jail!

So if you make a complaint, and a State or Federal Agency finds it unsubstantiated, then you could be investigated and charged with Terrorism... I guess at that point, is where the NSA goes to it's new Utah Data Center and starts combing through all your old phone calls, text messages, emails and internet posts, to see who you were talking to and then a couple of steps beyond that, to see who the people you talked to or who read your messages talked too or messaged. Yes, just as Ayn Rand prophesied in Atlas Shrugged, the Government is going to control us all, by making us criminals. Wow! Talk about a way to shut people up! Better be right when you make a complaint or you could get a free all expense paid trip to Marion Super Max!

My bad, thanks for the tip! I fixed it. :) They might keep it hush-hush in the courtroom, but he will undoubtedly say his motive was to prove how unconstitutional and intrusive these programs are. and rightly try to put these programs on trial. And the media will be all over this. No way they are going to let a good scandal die, now that the Obama Administration has become their enemy. The Government is not going to be able to sweep this under the rug!

Bars told to stop serving infused alcoholic drinks after 2006 law
Moped replied to Daniel's topic in General Chat
I'd love hear what the reason was, for such a stupid law. Anyone should be allowed to walking into any bar and order a Sangria or a margarita. -
CBS News is reporting the the DOJ is going to charge Edward Snowden with Espionage among other charges. They have asked the authorities in Hong Kong to detain him for extradition. I hope he mans up and voluntarily comes in. I'd love to see this go to trial, so that these nefarious secret Government Programs will be further exposed!

Extreme Danger: Brady Liberal With A Gun
Moped replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
She lives in Vancouver, Washington. She is very prominent in Anti-gun Circles there. I think she has some sort of Columbine connection as well. She might even have gone to school there. She is being very slow to post comments. I posted one last evening and it's yet to be posted. And I might add there is no reason not to post it. Not a hateful word escaped my fingers! :) MikeGideon, we are all tired of promoting our position, but we have to continue to fight, in order to get what we want or we will lose everything. -
You can use silver to purify water, to slow spoilage of liquads and as an antibiotic in Colloidal form. Here is a good article on the subject. http://www.quantumbalancing.com/news/cs_universal.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medical_uses_of_silver There are some adverse effects when using colloidal silver as an antibiotic. So take some of claims as a cure all end all, with a grain of salt.

Squeaky wheel gets the kick! If you don't respond with a reasonable argument, then the one doing all the talking usually wins. Fact of politics They aren't the ones we need to convince. It's the ones riding the fence we want on our side. The ones on the other side, have already made their minds up and you will never convince them. We got to outlast them. -

I certainly hope she does not, unless she seeks out training and starts acting responsibly. -
Extreme Danger: Brady Liberal With A Gun
Moped replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
What kills me about this article and the people that commented on it (for the most part), pretty much said all gun owners are unstable, irresponsible individuals that should be controlled. When just about to a person, those that I know that have HCPs, are very responsible, sensible people! She and her liberal commentors paint us with a VERY narrow brush!!! Actually, the best thing responsible gun owners can do, is go to her blog and politely and responsibly continue to point out how irresponsible she is and continue to hammer home the point that safety, training and responsiblilty are a personal requirement, when carrying a firearm. Another point that should hammered home, is that the article really proves next to nothing about gun ownership, since she seems to be making no attempt to actually learn how her firearm operates or how to use it like a normal firearms owner would do. Who the heck buys something and never learns how to use it? -
best carry caliber for hiking, wildlife protection
Moped replied to Maestrorr's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Between the two rounds the OP mentioned, i would select the .45, for the knockdown power. But if I were going to purchase a firearm for a dedicated woods gun, I would select a .357 mag in a Ruger LCR, SP101 or a small S&W, with a 3" barrel if it comes with it.
