I think it was love at second sight.  Regardless, we've been married for 24 years and have 3 kids together.  She keeps me in line when I need it, doesn't take a lot of crap off me and isn't a drama queen.  She's a dang good carpenter, can do plumbing, paint, hang wallpaper and put down all kinds of flooring, and loves doing all of it.  I hate doing all of that!  She hates to cook, and I love it!  We balance each other out and treat each other as equals.  She's my soul mate and life would be a whole lot dimmer without her!

Don't know if I've read all of his stuff, but I've sure read a lot of it!  A couple of summers back I re-read the Sackett series and then The Walking Drum!  He was a great writer and story teller!

I was weeding eating around a large flower bed, on a very steep bank in my front yard.  Obviously, I pissed them off for some reason.  They got me 5 or 6 times on my back (through my shirt), twice on my left arm, at least 4 or 5 times on mt left leg and numerous times on my right leg, before I got away.  "Revenge is a dish best served cold" as Dr. Sheldon Cooper would say.  Their asses are grass,  this evening!!! ;(

This is spot on.  I could not have said it better.

My son likes to shoot, but he'd rather shoot my Colt .22 Peacemaker and my Pietta 1858 Remington .44, than any other pistol I own.  He loves shooting his Marlin 83 too.  He's shot my AK and shrugged it off.  He likes the old stuff.

Look around for a nice used bolt action.  You should be able to pick one up for under $150.  Go with a Marlin or one of their clones.

He didn't care about this going to the grand jury.  That's where he wants it to.  And probably on to a jury trial. I just hope he gets a Lawyer for that. The Sten machineguns are fun to shoot!  The parts kits they were bringing into the country back in the early 90's were running about $125 and a receiver blank with the template glued to it, were running around $40.  I always though about putting one of those little kits back, with 10 mags and the uncut tube, for a SHTF item, but I never did.
