  1. I think Rough Riders are an awesome value!!!  Good advice Spots!
  2. The Camp Knife is also known as the Hunter on some sites.   http://www.crazycrow.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CCTP&Product_Code=4925-040-001&Category_Code=841-400-100   These are pretty popular with the Bushcrafter Community!
  3. Great looking knives!  I have several Moras.  They are hard to beat for the price!  Like the Dagley, but I've always wanted the Hunter model.  Did that gentleman have one of those in his booth?

    mini14 series180?

I doubt you will ever wear it out.  Those things are designed to shoot 1000s and 1000s and 1000s of rounds.
  5. Heck, I still cut myself from time to time.
  6. Personally, I'd go slip joint.  Something like a stockman, copperhead, peanut or whittler, for a first knife. A buck 110 or 112 is just too big for a young feller.  If you want to go with a locking single blade design, then look at an Opinel No. 6.  You get a smaller, nimble blade that is easier to handle for smaller hands.  The locking ring is easy to manipulate and requires no strength.  Here is an example.  You can also get this monogramed. And if he loses it, then you are not out a huge amount of money.   http://www.opinel-usa.com/proddetail.asp?prod=Opinel-knives-No-6-carbon-steel-folding-knife-folding-knife
  7. I'd want to know the reason for the paint job.  Could be it was drug behind a car or something.  If it checks out, then start at $300 and go from there.  The value, in my opinion was ruined when it was painted.  It would just be a shooter.
  8. If I were you, I would get a hold of a Boy Scout Scout Master Guide and use that to teach him.  A Scout earning his "Tot'en Chip", Is time tested and proven.  Bars of soap are excellent media to learn to carve and whittle on. Both of you should sit down and carve and whittle together. Bring a box of band-aids to the party.  It's not a matter of "if", but "when".  And when it happens, don't make a big deal about it.  It will be a big deal in his life, when he gets his first knife.  Make it special!
  9. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/09/14/gun-control-advocates-say-colorado-recall-stifling-effort-in-congress/   Ya think!  I sure hate it for them!!! :)
  10. That will never make it out of the house.
  11. Great deal!!!  Actually, that should be great "steal"!

    Trade advice

So would I. Post pics if you do.
  13. I've got a couple of Condor items and found them to be very rugged!  They are a bit on the uninspiring side, but definitely functional.  I think their better deals are on their bigger knives and machetes.
  14. It's not hard to do!  I did without any mechanical inclination what so ever, on my part, and I found it very easy!  It runs like a champ!!! :)
  15. YESSSS!
  16. I'm right there with you!  I work on a computer all day long, with drawings, excel and Word.  :)  It's Nut 'n' Fancy, I'm not a huge fan of.  He blathers on, and on, and on, and on and on and then he gets to the review.  He loses me after 4 or 5 minutes.
  17. Great job!  How does it shoot?
  18. I like it! Great job!!!
  19. I find it hard to watch Nut'N'Fancy.  He tends to ramble on WAY too long!
  20. Hard to beat a canteen cup!!! Great piece if gear there and they can be had for fairly cheap. But my favorite set up is a Stanley Cook Set, another great piece of gear. http://www.amazon.com/Stanley-Adventure-Stainless-Steel-24-Ounce/dp/B005188T90/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1378775434&sr=8-1&keywords=stanley+adventure+camp+cookset I team the Stanley Cook Set up with a MSR Pocket Rocket. http://www.amazon.com/MSR-11792-Pocket-Rocket-Stove/dp/B000A8C5QE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1378774587&sr=8-2&keywords=msr+backpacking+stove http://www.amazon.com/Stanley-Adventure-Stainless-Steel-24-Ounce/dp/B005188T90/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1378774309&sr=8-1&keywords=stanley+cookset
  21. Some of us happen to like chinese food , Dave. ;) As to them sending our fleet to Dave Jone's locker, I will believe it when I see it. We are still the strongest military on the battlefield. Nothing has changed. We just need to stop the stupid nation building crap. All that being said, we need to set this one out. Neither side likes us, nor will they help us, in the future. There is nothing to be gained by going into Syria.

    Revolver fever

I think you can buy a replacement spring that will lighten the trigger up.  I've also read on the internet, where you can make some adjustmene pts to the spring and lighten it up without altering the pistol, permanently. http://www.surplusrifleforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=71&t=56731
  23. I bet you'd be real ugly, at that!
  24.   i love KABARs, but I don't consider them to be the best under a $100.  In addition to the Beckers, that OS mentioned, I'd also pick an ESEE or an OKC Ranger first. If it was the only knife I had though, I'd still be a happy camper!  Also, I'd take the KABAR over any SOG or CS for under a $100.   I have to say that I agree with Spots too, on the leather grip.  It's the classic look!!!
  25. Wish I had the money.  I'd take it.  Sounds like a real good deal!
