I haven't seen $400 to $500 Garands in a very long time, though they have Service Grade (Fair to Good) Springfields for $625 plus $24,99 SH on their website now. http://odcmp.com/Sales/m1garand.htm#Rack

If you are looking for a "comfortable shooting" .357 snub, I believe the Ruger LCR is head and shoulders the winner.

This. If it were up to me, a couple would go to the courthouse and get a Civil Union License. That would be the only legally recognized "union" document in the land. Marriage would be a ceremony carried out by a religious organization, whether it was Christain, Muslim, Hindu, Hari Krishna, Wiccan, Vulcan, Wookie or any other religion you care to name. And it would legally mean jack squat. That would solve the whole problem.

I would not.

Didn't you all's mommas teach you that if you have nothing good to say, then don't say nothin' at all?!?!? :D

Hickenlooper actually thought he had a chance?!?!?!

If Red, from That 70's Show, were a real person, he'd say "Hickenlooper is a dumbass." Nuff said. -
It's be nice to see some pictures of this fabled rifle. Without pictures, this rifle doesn't exist!!! :jester:

I say it would be a cryin' shame not to have a Ruger Mk I, II or III or a Single Six in your inventory. One is a great auto (the best IMO) and the other is an awesome single action revolver! There is no pot metal in either. They are all steel. I have a Mk II Target with a bull barrel and it's very accurate and runs like a champ! You will NEVER wear either one out. The pistol my son loves shooting the most, though is my Colt .22 Peacemaker. He love shooting the single actions. Should you decide on the single action and aren't able to afford a Ruger Single Six, then look at the Heritage Rough Rider. They can be had for less than 2 bills and usually come with a .22 LR and a .22 mag cylinder. The fit and finish is not up to par with the Ruger Single Six, but they are still a good value!

Looks like the knife has an AK attached to it!

I was about to get all excited, thinking these were old .38spl revolvers. That would have been much more awesome. :/

IS this one of those 5.5" barrels or the 7.5" barrel? I'd love to have one of these! I think they are the best made BP pistol you can get!!!

My prediction, concerning what is about to happen. There is a good chance the Government will shut down tonight. Tomorrow the press will hand the Republicans their heads. Obamacare will not be stopped. Within the week, there will be such a clamor from the public, that the Republicans will start backtracking. There will be finger pointing, from both sides of the aisle, at the Tea Party. The Tea Party may take their ball and go home. Come the 2014 election, the Democrats will win the House and possibly gain a super majority in the Senate. Gun Control will at the top of the agenda. The UN Arms Treaty will be ratified. Another Democrat will be elected President in 2016. We will all be wondering how this country went to hell in a hand basket and crying, weeping because they are coming to take our guns. This is an unnecessary fight that is going to affect us all, in a negative way. Just calling it like I see it. I don't think this is going to be good. -
Add 20,000 more to the rolls, plus at least one Congressman

It has nothing to do with their survival. They are an international mufti-billion dollar company, with their finger in every engineering pie imaginable. They LOVE, LOVE, LOVE sucking the Government teat, because it makes them lots and lots and lots of money every year. They saw a way to save money on healthcare, at the expense of their employees, in order to be able to offer their stockholders more dividends, pure and simple. And since Obamacare passed, why not have that cover their employees. We are seeing more and more companies thinking this way. -

Up until about this time last year, I worked for Jacobs Engineering. I'm the bread winner in my house and our family coverage was running almost $12,000 a year, so I feel your pain. I figure Jacobs pays zilch towards our insurance. They started steadily increasing the rates, right around the time that the Government passed the Health Care Bill. Obviously, they were looking then, at dropping healthcare all together, as a benefit. I changed companies last year for a HEFTY cut in the cost of healthcare (and actually better benefits) and a minor increase in pay and I have never regretted it! I believe that in the next 5 years, you will see most employers drop health insurance coverage for even full time employees, in favor of Obamacare. And that's how we will end up with universal health care. -
Nor would I lose too much sleep wondering about wearing a LCR out with .22 LR rounds. I figure that it's next to impossible to do in you and your sons life times.

Gentlemen, I think a compromise is in order. Instead of One Official Gun of Tennessee, why not have an Official Pistol, an Official Rifle and an Official Shotgun? Therefore I propose the following: Official Pistol: 1911 Colt's Automatic Pistol (not to be confused with the 1911a1) Official Rifle: Barret M82 Official Shotgun: H&R Single Shot 12ga Shotgun (Representative of all single shot shotguns) Now, what the heck is a .357 Magnum Glock? Is this a new chambering for a Glock? If so, I want one and would love to see someone produce a picture of it!

Rand Paul Giving Up on Presidential Run?
Moped replied to Oh Shoot's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Biggest waste of money this Government ever made!!! We should have learned our lesson back during prohibition. But there is too much money in it for all the different LE Organizations at the Federal, State and Local level for it to ever be allowed to just go away. Their Lobbyists will see to that. I hate Washington and I'm really starting to agree with Mike.357 on what my vote means, which is exactly squat. -
Got some pictures of the beast? We'd love to see them!

I belong to another forum called Bushcraftusa, and Robert Jones, belongs there. He is the one that makes all the sheaths for Jeff White's knives. He also collaborates with Mike on some of the their designs. He was pretty instrumental in getting Jeff to come out with the Rancher and the Kephart. Makes some really nice leather sheaths!

Wow, congratulations!!! That is a super looking rifle! I also believe it to be a superior rifle to all the lower end new production rifles. I also here it's a very credible white tail round. I've always wanted one of these. Just never had the money, when they were available!

I think any pistol or revolver over 20oz .requires a holster of some sort and is probably not conducive too pocket carry. I've had several Ruger SP101s and it's a pretty small revolver but hefty, but it would pull you pants off, if carried in a pocket, unless you had a butt, which most men don't. My favorite concealed carry piece is a Colt Agent .38 and it fits ok in a pants pocket without a holster, but fits better in a jacket pocket and in the winter time, that's exactly where it rides, with 2 speed loaders on the other side. I've also noticed the "snappiness" of smallish .380s. The last one I had was a SIG P230. A couple of mags was all I could stand to shoot from it. My hand was shaking. I didn't like shooting it much, so I got rid of it, and stuck with my old fashioned Colt Agent. Loaded with Federal Standard pressure Nyclads, it's a tack driver at 25 yards.
