It just dawned on me the tremendous economic impact this situation is going to have on local and state governments that rely heavily on sales tax revenue. No business, no sales tax revenue. Less travel, less gas tax revenue, etc., etc.

Pardon the late quip, but is the surgeon general’s outfit any worse than police chiefs across the nation donning the 5 star insignia only worn by nine men who achieved the highest rank the US military offers?

We live in a nation where most people can’t even spell or understand how words work much less mentally process the concept of me and us. There are conflicting reports daily from the media about what one should do or not do. Our absurdly biased media is in full force telling us one thing one day, another the next, often conflicting themselves on the same day. I’d be surprised if the USA could find us the way out of a paper bag.

Should the government keep stockpiles of essential materials, especially medical equipment? Absolutely. The government also needs to keep people employed that can cut through the bull#### of manufacturers and their claims of expiration dates and “use by” warnings. Think N95 masks. The only thing wrong with old ones is the elastic has rotted. Half the women in this country that sew are sewing on new elastic bands for them. Bam! Problem solved. This entire country needs to rethink how things are done and how to get by. Now, back to the Infrastructure bill. That was one of Trump’s campaign platforms and now as he says with zero interest rates it’s time. I’m no tin-foil-hatter but some dominoes are falling into place.
