  1. Make sure all the screws holding the action to the stock are tight. Wood stocks expand and contract over the years, leaving loose screws that throw accuracy out the window.
  2. This is, always has been, and always will be the one correct response to the question of “what should my woman carry”. I would even go so far as to suggest something in the .32 department. Lots of old S&W J-frames out there in .32 long...Models 30 and 31. They are dandy little revolvers.
  3. That’s what I thought. A much desired Smith & Wesson.
  4. Is that a 3” 10 or 13?
  5. I would thoroughly clean the chamber with Hoppe’s #9 and a .30 cal brush. Chances are the factory oil in there goobered things up.
  6. What brand of ammo were you using? Steel-cased by any chance?
  7. Sounds like GT is still doing well after nearly 7 years.
  8. At one time Remington produced some of the best looking guns on the market. They need to hire a graphic artist or someone with a sense of style. There is absolutely no reason a gun cannot look good doing what it is supposed to do. Form and function can coexist.
  9. A truck exhaust looks pretty good compared to this.
  10. Uncle Sugar’s making it rain.
  11. I started reloading when I was 13 or 14. Got an RCBS Rock Chucker kit that I still have and use when the notion strikes me. Discovered some examples from those early days of 9mm and .30-30 a few years ago. Surprised I didn’t blow myself up, lol. Rolling your own is immensely satisfying and rewarding. You will also end up with ammo far superior to factory loads...If you do it right. Doing it right takes time and you really need to be a bit OCD. The only caliber I find worth the time loading is .38 Special/.357 Magnum. huge cost saving there. Same for any revolver cartridge. I loaded up 1k 9mm a few years ago. Don’t ever see myself reloading for a semi-auto firearm again. What takes hours and days to create that is blasted away in minutes just doesn’t make sense when there are so many other things to do.
  12. Anything made before 1970 is C&R. However putting that into practical use is another matter.
  13. What does it cost to to reload these days? Component prices have gone through the roof as well. Add all that up and the time it takes it might just come out to be a wash. You casters who get free lead (and fumes) need not reply, lol.
  14. Just having a democrat running for President is enough to set many off on a hoarding spree.
  15. If you can get 9mm for 17.5 cents a pop at Academy today go buy more because you’re not going to find any cheaper right now. Ammo prices are up across the board. 9mm is on average $100 more per case than two months ago.
  16. It’s worth mentioning that we are heading into a Presidential election. If thing start going south for Trump then we’re going to see crazy prices for quite a while to come.
  17. Not really other than proper Wayfarers. But I have found red dots than really work well, such as the Sig Romeo 5 which is widely regarded by those whose eyes are getting goofy.
  18. It all depends on your shooting eye AND the red dot. If you have an astigmatism as I do, then some red dots will be a big fuzzy blur, others not so much. I still prefer iron sights just because, but red dots sure are nice when you get used to them.
  19. Little late in the season but does is smell like taint?
  20. I take back what I said earlier. My woman is digging Scottish tribal music. We’ve been watching it on YouTube/Roku for the past 45 minutes.
  21. As would I, 007.
  22. Went to Kroger as well today. The only ground beef was their high dollar vacuum packed organic stuff. It’s good, but only 90/10. I want leaner when making chili.
  23. Doubt it. Does hillbilly style work?
