  1. I keep a hammer with mine.
  2. FYI, ALL U.S military surplus .30-06 made prior to 1952-54ish is corrosive. Forget the exact year, might look that up later.
  3. Hard to beat a S&W Victory. Not much to look at but once you shoot one you’ll see why they’re so popular. Mine with a Vortex Venom on top goes to the range every time. In fact, it stays in the range bag.
  4. Have you heard about the Mark IV?
  5. Don’t worry, mine are strong keep the hands where they are supposed to be.
  6. I found a quarter in a pinball machine coin return last Friday.
  7. There’s probably enough left to do a thousand more guns. Try to control yourself.
  8. I’d ask why a $1400 pistol needs to be basically rebuilt as it sounds. I’m also of the opinion that if you’re going to dump that kind of money to make all those modifications to a firearm then you’re also going to need to realize that the sum does not equal the whole. In other words, don’t expect to recoup the cost you put into it unless you find the perfect buyer. Do you like this pistol that has been modified to someone else’s specifications? That’s really all that matters.
  9. Nice! Mine is very close to yours, May 1942 manufacture (receiver), maybe even same day. Fantastic rifle.
  10. Then go get one.
  11. There really is more to it than that. Assessment is a property assessor term used for taxing. It differs, but is tied to appraisal value. When properties are reassessed every “roughly” 4 years in TN by law, then the local property tax rate is to be adjusted so that it is revenue neutral. That sounds great but some people’s taxes do go up, others maybe down. Property assessors now are using recent sales values (the appraisal part) in valuation. And to add…many in state guvment are trying to reduce that reassesment interval to something like 2 years…keep an eye on our wonderful republican supermajority, it’s going to cost us all.
  12. Using Kroger as an example, I have literally seen nearly 100% increase in prices on some things in the past 4 years and I swear every week I go in there something I want has been jacked up again. As far as housing goes you hit on an even greater issue. It’s literally tearing the fabric of society apart, especially in TN. Just imagine if all these people raising hell about language, he/she’s, Palestinians, and whatever the outrage of the day is started focusing on the increasing threat to their daily lives then we might start seeing some of that “change” everyone talks about.
  13. This could probably go in a couple of different subs but I’m dropping it here. I have a family member fresh out of college moving to Nashville soon who is keen on buying his first handgun. Who do y’all recommend for a training class around there? Maybe who has the best permit carry class? Those are adequate for most and are generally sufficient, was just wondering if there was something else to consider in the introductory sense. I’d like that he starts this journey with more structured tutelage that an Uncle can provide (even though that instruction has been excellent ).
  14. And having the biggest, newest, pickup truck on the block in a neighborhood they can’t afford living in with insurance rates skyrocketing to match the grossly overinflated house values in this state. Not to mention everyday expenses that are unaffordable due to previously mentioned commitments. “But the bill just says minimum payment due”. That kind of ignorance has a lot to do with it as well. And none of that has jack #### to do with the government.
  15. The NRA is too wrapped up in defending it’s own legal existence, reserving money for Trump, and ensuring that the higher ups are taken care of for life (along with their children, granchildren, and so on) to be of any use fighting any anti-2a matters.
  16. Is that the gear shifter in the middle of the pile?
  17. I was at a Mardi Gras street party down in Baton Rouge many years ago and a guy pulled up on a big chrome Harley and I do mean CHROME. Every inch of that bike was chrome plated...tank, fenders, all of it. It was most impressive.
  18. 0:25 -0:35 in that vid speaks volumes.
  19. Credit cards have been a scourge on society since the first charge plates were invented by department stores. Abuse of credit cards and the debt incurred is nothing new, it’s been going on for decades. Blaming the government for that is just silly, you either live within your means or don’t. Sure, the government can and should crack down on predatory lending practices which is exactly what credit card companies are in the business of, but then again, capitalism, responsibility, and all that jazz. I listened to my elders growing up and do not exceed my means. Fortunately, I have a good income, but it has not been easy dealing with the crap that comes along with that. Long story short, I have no sympathy for those in CC debt. I have dealt with it among family members so have seen the absolutely devastating effects it can have on one’s life and future.
  20. Did you happen to ask them about a 5” blued version?
  21. If you are into the blues this is one young man to keep an eye on. He won several honors yesterday at the 45th annual blues awards held every year in Memphis. He knows how to work a guitar.
  22. I am not offering an opinion here so back off if you don’t like what I’m about to say. Since the state basically removed all restrictions on keeping firearms in vehicles, car break-ins have skyrocketed, especially Memphis because they’ll steal the stink out of #### there, but don’t you Nashville area or anywhere else folks get too smug, it’s happening everywhere and getting worse. Fact, not opinion.
  23. You ought to know better than that, but they will require a 48 pound trigger pull.
  24. Social media’s obsession with cicadas has really gotten out of hand. Yeah, this is a big, epic, “brood”, but some generation comes out every…single…year.
