  1. Blackberries = Good Eatin'
  2. 12 Gauge = bigger shell = more powder & more shot = more power & kick. 20 Gauge can do all the things a 12 Gauge does but you might have to work a little harder at it and it doesn't kick as much The most versatile thing in the world is a 12 gauge pump. IMHO that is what to get. You can hunt and use it for clays. The recoil may be a bit much for the wife and son so a 20 gauge may also be in order. I use my cheap pump 12 for Sporting Clays and it does just fine.

    Go Tennessee!

And Memphis is #1!. Anyone remember last year's story on cities? http://www.forbes.com/2007/11/14/health-obesity-cities-forbeslife-cx_rr_1114obese.html
  4. I have a little Panasonic bought at Staples that does great. They don't seem to have the same model anymore but go to their website and search for "Digital Voice Recorder". You'll get an idea of what's out there.
  5. Is there a story here? Never talked to him personally but he's quite a prodigious poster. BTW. The Band rocks. Have seen The Last Waltz many times lately on VH1 and on one of HD channels. Directed by Martin Scorsese who also did the new Stones movie that's out. Saw Band in Asheville back in '96. Good stuff!
  6. You may have hit the nail right on the head. This is an election year and if you have any idea of how crooked and back-asswards Knox County politicians are you'd understand. The County's politican shenanigans of the last couple of years are well documented and have made them a national laughing-stock. It's obviously campaining on the tax-payers dollar. The elections are less than a month away and as an APPOINTED official until then he has found a way to send out some free advertising. I seriously doubt the Chief LEO is concerned about your permit status. The names and addresses of permit holders are certainly something he has access to via the office. Doesn't the application process involve the local Man? The records of registered voters for political gain he does not - unless the campaign requests and pays.
  7. Just whip out your business. Then you'll know.
  8. It came today! Exactly 83 days! Applied Friday, April 18th - the thing came in the mail today, July 10. I'm so confused now I don't know what to do. Go to Wally World I guess.
  9. Can you go ahead and do that for us? I've got a feeling that would be a good way to have your application put on the bottom of the stack!
  10. I have one in .40 cal. It is outstanding and shoots extremely well. I used it for my HCP class and removed the entire X-ring and everything around it. Have had 0 problems, misfeeds, stovepipes, etc after 600 rounds or so. They are made (or Distributed) by Magnum Research now, not IMI. http://www.magnumresearch.com/Browse.asp?Category=Baby+Eagle:Pistols
  11. Go cap n' ball with a couple of extra cyliners - Josey Wales style.
  12. Thanks for posting this. I reread it this morning and thought it would be good for everyone to brush up on some history. Read carefully - some of this still applies today! He = King George. Hmmm...
  13. If you see one of those fancy Watermelon Baskets lovingly crafted by the ladies at your 4th of July bash dump some PGA in it and watch the fireworks fly!
  14. What's going on here? I understand my comment was excellent but I did not start this thread! Have I been high-jacked or is there something cross-wired?
  15. Very nice. Just got my first recently and have not fired another long-arm since. Garands are infectious and mighty fun to shoot.
  16. I carry some keys, a cell phone, wallet and maybe some change. When the State sees fit to grant my request for the privilege of packing I'll carry my brand new S&W 442 when going incognito or the SA 1911 if I feel like struttin' about town.
  17. You were blown and didn't know it! Best post title of the day. Is there a category for that?
  18. They won't have jobs 'cause the only ones they would be eligible for are already taken by Mexicans.
  19. That's illin'. Am I wrong or weren't pawn shops good places to go fo yo gats about 10-15 years ago or more? I got both my SA 1911 and S&W 28 from pawners - used but very good condition and very reasonbly priced (over 10 years ago). I quit going into the places 'cause all they have is over-priced junk.
  20. Everything I have is a favorite. That's part of my problem. However, the M1 Garand is right on top of the list. M1 Carbines after that. I thought you said EVER!. Never list too long.
  21. Today will make 8 weeks waiting. If it's not in the mailbox this evening I might just throw a conniption fit right there in the front yard. What's the deal? It only takes 5-45 minutes when you buy a gun. Every local, state and federal agency is computerized and I was under the impression all the LE agency systems were now linked. Thanks for letting me vent. I've got a funny feeling that my app fell under someone's desk. TGIF.
