  1. Didn't really look long enough to notice!
  2. Excruciatingly Gay. One of the more unfortunate holdovers from the 80's.

    Over Under Advice

You really don't need an O/U if you're just getting started. Why not try out a pump to see if you're into it and then progress from there?
  4. Apparently it was there before the Cordova shooting but no one knew about it until now. The CA's justification for posting has been lame at best, but they have been touting it's presence and sudden notoriety in conjuction with that incident.
  5. I thought ya'll were talking about M1 Carbines.
  6. Dual booting with Vista/XP after Vista is installed is a chore. Forget about that. Microsoft has free virtualization software you can download (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/virtualpc/default.mspx) that allows you to load another OS on the machine and run as needed. Basically, you can open up a window and run the old OS and apps simultaneously while still in Vista.
  7. Mom made an excellent choice! Now is that for her or for .....
  8. I'd start her off on the 22. Explain the operation of the thing and safety in advance of going to the range. That is very important to get her comfortable with the gun. Let her know how it works, how to aim and fire, etc. before hitting the range. Have I stressed that enough? Then maybe show her one of the big guns and let her get a feel for that. When you go to the range, keep your pride intact 'cause you may be surpised at how well that gun can shoot in her hands. I did this same routine several times back when I was a "playa". It works.
  9. Personally, I would never shoot reloads in a Glock or use brass from one. But that's just me. I narrowly avoided a disaster with my 2nd gen 23 by virtue of having two 40's on the same day shooting the same crappy factory-reloaded ammo. Shot the Glock, then loaded up a clip for the Baby Eagle. Commenced firing the Baby. Third shot in had a complete case rupture and head separation. Fortunately that thing is built like a tank. Here's something on the infamous Glock KaBoom! http://www.thegunzone.com/glock/glock-kb-faq.html
  10. What's every other store? They gonna go by location on that .
  11. I bought an NEF Pardner Pump 12 last year. Version with 28" barrel and walnut stock. IMHO it the best deal on a new shotgun there is. Internally it is an 870. Action is as smooth as an 870. The bolt is chromed and the only plastic on it is the mag plug. Uses standard screw-in choke tubes. They also have that home defense version with the synthetic stock you're talking about. I don't think you could go wrong with it. But a word of caution, although it's an 870 design barrels may or may not be interchangeable so may be limited on accessorizing. One downside: They are made in China. Take that as you may but the quality is top-notch.
  12. Cartridge was developed for the Luger which has about 4" barrel. I believe original bullet weight was 124gr but I also think was loaded a little hot to work the toggle action.
  13. Right. I think 59 is maybe the year that particular load was adopted. http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/Czech_7.62x54R_Light_Ball.html
  14. No more pics stored here due to bandwidth and storage limitations. Photobucket is popular. Many people here and there use it. It's free but there are other ones too. If it makes you feel any better I just Googled my photobucket name and got no hits. Random gun porn is not gonna get you tagged.
  15. Is this what you're looking for? I seriously doubt it's original if that's what you're looking for. http://www.gunclips.net/brchm.html
  16. Oh yeah. It takes all the patience I can muster not go to the estore and place yet another order for surplus '06 ammo or send in the order form for another rifle goody. I signed on with the Voluteer Rifle & Pistol Club (VRPC) @ John Sevier range about this time last year to get my club creds. Did not know about GCA counting at that time. ORSA out in Oak Ridge is another option. Joining VRPC (ORSA a bit higher) is gonna cost more that GCA but members don't pay range fees or check in at the front office when you go shoot. Other things like Sporting Clays and Skeet are discounted.
  17. Yes, you can take it home with you but you'll have to pay sales tax or they can ship what you pick out to your front door. Depending on what you get having it shipped is cheaper than pay the tax. C&R rules don't really have anything to do with as they do not apply to CMP. Check out their forum: http://www.odcmp.org/new_forum/. Everything you'll ever want to know is there.

I remember watching the 1st season and thougth is was pretty good. Kinda slacked off after that cause 2nd season wasn't so. If you wanta get started, Krystals are far superior (and TN based). They have Mustard! Plus it's hard to build pyramids out of White Castle boxes. But the Castle does have some good Rings!
  19. Newport to Anniston is about 280 miles. That's according to google maps so there are probably some shortcuts. But before you drive down there are some requirements to buy from CMP. Nothing major but here they are: http://www.thecmp.org/eligibility.htm
  20. Don't you mean 19.97 and 29.97? Are you saying she gave you a discount?
  21. Before you get any more rude remarks, we're all over this one: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17281 And the proposed bill now going through the state to seal these records only carries a misdemeanor offense. This thing was up long before the Cordova incident but no one knew about it until now.
  22. Indeed it is. I've always been a big Marlin fan.
  23. Look here. http://www.marlinfirearms.com/Firearms/308MarlinExpress/default.asp It's a 308 but not the 308.
  24. Maybe the NRA's statement will calm. I assume they keep on top of this stuff. http://www.nraila.org/legislation/read.aspx?id=4430 But then again it is Friday the 13th.
