  1. Have you ever been there? Just curious as I've been conducting an unscientific study the past 20 years of why East Tennesseans hate Memphis so much.
  2. Big fan of the Expert here. That's what I was shooting the last time we were down in Mike's little holler. Performs flawlessly for me where the Remington stuff causes problems.
  3. Was born and raised in Memphis. Never stepped foot in Graceland until I was about 28 and had been in Knoxville for 8 years. I don't know about now, but it's not really something the natives do, as least not anyone I knew. 2009 is kind of an anniversary for Mud Island (the sand bar, not the houses) as it did not even exist before 1909. It started forming 100 years ago.
  4. I'll endeavor to be there around 11:00 am. If I recall correctly there might be a plastic -house on site but cannot guarantee. Have not been there in a while. I do know there are no coke machines, sandwich machines or any other such conviences.
  5. Will James Earl Jones narrate at the show?
  6. For all you M1 fans, here's a great episode of Mail Call with none other than R. Lee whoopin' up the Garand... Hulu - Mail Call: Episode 3 - Watch the full episode now. You can't beat the Gunny!

If she's as tight as you say...wait a minute what I mean to say is if it patterns they way you suggest would make a great gun for turkey shoots in the fall. Saw a shotty like that at one last year, dude took home a bunch of prizes. I would never consider cutting it. But that's just who I am. Never be worth anything to anybody if butchered and another piece of history is gone.
  8. What time do the festivities begin? I guess we ought to set some kind of time for everyone to think about. But it's all casual. And for everyone that's never been up to Norris go to the PD first! I don't know if they ever come up and check who's shooting but the man says you best have a receipt if they do.
  9. Well crap! If it wasn't for work half the day I might just have been there with you guys. Looks like ya'll had a good time! But I did put the one and only coat of BLO on a Garand stock this afternoon (after about 10 of pure tung oil) and broke the front sight loose and adjusted so it would be proper! Did Mike.357 wear that steel army hat all day?
  10. Much to the chagrin of the Commerical Appeal, Knoxville NS and other ignorant newspapers and TV stations of this state, restaurants are not going to start posting signs to keep guns out. Since the great majority of all the eateries that people get all warm and fuzzy about (at least in Knoxville) are crappy national chains, it will take some time for any type of ban. For the other 5 or 10 % of the restaurants in the state that are owned and operated locally. Very few will post. First they have no idea what's going on, nor do they care! Secondly, it's hard enough to compete.
  11. The Sphinx 3000! Why didn't you say so! I like it just for the name.
  12. Soak turtle in whiskey until well seasoned. Removed turtle and drink whiskey!
  13. Never heard of 'em. Obviously a CZ clone which indicates fine accuracy to me.
  14. Welcome or is it welcome back? Nice pics! Your work area is far too organized and clean. How do you find anything?
  15. Who is this guy and why is he not bragging on being an AMERICAN, if he loves this country so much?
  16. That poll is in regards to carrying guns in bars. Last I heard, we were gonna carry in restaurants. Either way, added one to the + column.
  17. The Bearcat is a small full-sized gun. Nevertheless, I think it's one of the greatest .22 SA's ever. My mom has an "original" bought at a gas station over in West Memphis in the '60's (pre-68). She won't let me even touch it! I might just try to make off with it.
  18. Very tacticool.
  19. Actually, it's really not necessary. There's no need to promote people running around buying everything up! I've got a good feeling that the ammo madness is tapering off. The WM limits will go a long way to helping out.
  20. I honestly think we need a permanent thread for each Wal-Mart location in the State! That way we can check whatever location you're nearest and haul-ass over there! I frequent the Walker Springs WM. They have (or had) tons of .223 as of yesterday evening. No pistola other than that one box of .357 Sig.
  21. Hopefully, the kid will learn a lesson and not end up as some 45 year old ass carrying a badge and popping off rounds on a bike trail. Hard to tell what the entire situation is but maybe this kid is being done a favor. In other words smarten up. Scared straight?
  22. What do the Elk and Moose do? I know that's a loaded question for all the smart-arses but don't need to waste time typing!
  23. Wonder where OS is today? Maybe he was out there between us.
  24. Those are about the finest grips I've ever seen.
