Jubil, shop around. The Dick's ad in last Sunday's paper has 4 .22 rifles on sale for $200 or less. Two of those have scopes.

My 1978 10/22 came tapped for a scope mount! I'm pretty sure it's standard on all models. Buy a new one at Dick's or Wal-Mart...at least you'll get a MAGAZINE with it for your $200.

You do. I think there may be acceptions for buying long guns face to face in surrounding states from dealers, but I have never done.

Tell seller that without a mag the price will need to come down. Significantly, in my opinion. I would also question why the gun does not have a mag.
