  1. Now this whole thread makes as much sense as wrapping Bacon around a perfectly good MG 42.
  2. I think you understand it. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. All depends on the gun and the mag capacity. Semi-auto's will burn through ammo alot faster that bolt-actions, but if you're focused a bolt gun is pretty fast too.
  3. What are they doing to that MG 42! Oh wait, it's Bacon.
  4. Go ahead and get a .22 rifle. Shotguns are fun for a few minutes but are definitely not for plinking, unless you've got a whole lotta stuff to blow up everytime you go shooting. 10/22 or a Marlin 60 are the traditional and best semi-autos. If you want to go bolt action a Savage Mark II basic model is something like $127 at Walmart, but finding extra mags is a major pain.
  5. I know Uberti's are Italian and Cimmaron looks to be a dealer or distributor. Have never owned one but the Uberti's seem to be of very good quality.
  6. It most likely is 7mm Mauser (7x57mm), if it was never converted. Pictures will go a long way in helping to figure it out.
  7. Impossible. Young adults can continue living off their momma's teet in daddy's (if they have one) basement until the age of 26 now while trying to "find themselves". Fully insured.
  8. I never get tired of that.
  9. Just another reason to seal the permit holder database. Anyone with $75 or so can get too damn much information. I have not gotten one.
  10. Not sure there will be much action this evening. May be a good night to get the wives, girlfriends, etc. to watch.

Please for God's sake don't carry it around at your local park or whatever.
  12. The first stage pull is only an issue on the first shot, after that it should all be second stage. More or less.
  13. Big South Fork is way up on the list.
  14. That completely blew my mind.
  15. Perfectly understandable considering the excitment of shooting a new 1911.
  16. You both need to just get some more and bigger clips.
  17. The entire world is praising the health care bill.
  18. Walker Springs does have a bunch of Federal 9mm and the mighty 40 at the usual prices. Also have alot of .22's...Federal 550's, Wichester 333's, and Remington Thunderbolts in a 350 pack. Bad news the prices have increased significantly on the bulk packs. The Federals are $18.97, $3.50 higher than a month ago. The 333's and Thunderbolts are $11.47, about $1.50 higher.
  19. I just figured SUNTZU had already been there.
  20. I'm truly sorry for your loss Ken.
  21. Very well said. We are not to be trusted with our morals. Need them to monitor it for us (while they run around screwing who knows what, where when and how, often on the "same team" ).
  22. And those two aren't but 30 or so miles apart. I love spreading the joy of Rock Islands. They are excellent guns.
  23. Congrats to you too! I can tell you both a hex-head Mosin with all the goodies from AIM is about $104 delivered to the Knoxville area. Subtract $10 if you want a regular model.
  24. Congrats! Make some copies, sign one and scan it, or take a really nice digital picture. You can upload that to AIM when you order the obligatory Mosin and have it by Monday. The discount at Midway is not all that much...a buck or two on most things except sale items. You can email a copy of the license to them.
