The purpose as I understand it is to allow EHP holders to carry wherever LEO can carry, as in places where private property owners and businesses have posted. The optics of this bill are horrible and the bad press is really cranking up.

Years ago I rode my ‘98 Wide Glide to work in the morning so I could take it to the dealer at lunch for service. It was about this time of year. Favorable weather prediction and it did get up to like 60 by noon, but it was freezing that morning! Made it to the parking garage that morning and started backing into a spot. The feds require a background check via NICS and offers It at no cost. It is the state charging you for whatever they do above and beyond what is required. Some states rely solely on NICS and do not charge a background check fee.

A lot of the old Norinco is also steel core. I think that was in a different colored box and marked as such but maybe some of the yellow box is as well. Don’t completely know, but many claim the yellow box is steel core when they’re selling it, thus inflating the price.

There is no federal fee, it’s the state making you pay that.

What is a “mental consumer”?

Much of the “defund the police” movement is to get more social worker types and others properly trained in dealing with mentals on the street. How that is supposed to work is anyone’s guess because they’re going to need an armed escort.
