  1. You gotta go to the Frech Quarter, have some Beignets and Chickory coffee at the Cafe Du Monde, then head up the street to the Central Grocery for a Muffuletta. If you've never been there, those two are a must. Touristy yes, but for good reason. Acme Oyster Bar is good...they have other things other than raw oysters. That's where I learned how to make cocktail sauce. You have to make it yourself there...they just give you the ingredients.
  2. How can I miss a gun show? Will be there in the morning, with grumpy old bastards in tow or not.
  3. Looks like a Little Caesers production to me and I will not pay more than $5 for one...or $8 for the meat trio.
  4. In true TGO fashion, I vote for neither. Not too crazy about two-tone guns. I vote for this...Products & Services
  5. Well, I'll be. Never heard of such a thing but just read up on it a bit. Sorry, but I have nothing to offer.
  6. You say you've got a 12 gauge with a 10 gauge barrel?
  7. I see it.... http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/handguns/41172-looking-carry-pistol-wife.html
  8. Anecdotal evidence never got me out of a thing. The last time I was pulled over, I did not declare HCP status and was not asked. If it ever happens again, I will inform. Yes, it may be the proper thing to do in announcing your status, but you never know who is pulling you over. That ends that discussion on what an LEO may think or do. Bad form around here, you know. Why bring the passenger into the situation? He or she is not at fault for you getting pulled over, depending on the circumstance. Is the passenger usually brought into simple traffic violations or does the hypothetical situation involve something more?
  9. You can't have one without a foundation. This country threw common sense out with the trash years ago.
  10. A few months ago OP was hitting the submit button on this thread.
  11. Smartass.
  12. A Newton is a unit of force. I assume that is how the springs are measured, European-style. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newton_(unit)
  13. Probably so, but that requires effort and time.
  14. I have a .729 "caliber" shotgun.
  15. The NRA has taken to using autodialing systems, much like politicians, to annoy people. Don't even try to answer the phone because you can't tell a recording to never call again. Since you do business with them, they are exempt from do-not-call regulations. I don't don't like it either.
  16. The 442 is a great gun. You need a holster simply to keep the gun straight in your pocket. Check out a Desantis Nemesis for that. There's no improving the sights without major work, nor is it needed. This gun has fixed sights, no pins, blades or whatever involved. Remember it is not a range gun and is somewhat difficult to learn to shoot accuratly, but it is actually very accurate. It took me a while with mine to learn not to hold on too tight. Keep a relaxed grip. The trigger pull will smooth out after a while but still remain stout.
  17. Another show to prove what a crappy shot I really am. Not one Tennesseean in the bunch. What gives? I thought everyone knew we know how to do it right.
  18. Well, I wouldn't buy 7.62x54r in bulk at the show, just enough to get you started. As with all other ammo, the surplus there is higher than ordering online. You might give Gander Mountain a call. Several months ago they were stocking 91/30's.
  19. There will be Mosins at the show. At the past few, T&T Guns has had a full crate or two of 91/30's for $119 each (or two for $109), plus tax & TICS. Several other dealers usually have one or two laying around.

    "Good" Entry 1911

I will add to the praise of a Rock Island. Get that.
  21. The answers to all your questions are here: Handgun Carry Permits
  22. Palmetto has that stuff for $17.95/box.
  23. +1000000. All I can say is lighten up Francis to the PC crowd. And there was actual discrimination when those shows aired.
  24. That's what Bandit and the Snowman are good for.
