  1. +1 All my people are there. Like back 4 generations. Occasionally when down there I'll stop by the office and have them check the records. Can't have them double-stacking on my kin. I even own land there myself, not that I'll ever use it.
  2. You are very wise for planning ahead. What's that cardboard box costing? I bet it's around $1000? AFAIK, cremation requires some type of container per state law. The funeral lobby in TN is very powerful. Need to check with my little brother, he is a mortician.

  4. Walmart sells tacky-ass coffins. I mean those things are ugly. They also sell urns if you choose to incinerate a loved one and put 'em up on the mantle.... Search results for urn - Walmart
  5. I bet one day someone writes a biography of Charlton Heston and these pictures will be somewhere in the middle of the book.
  6. Don't know if it's the oddest thing in the house but I do have an autogrphed picture of Richard Sanders aka Les Nessman from WKRP in Cincinatti.
  7. That is one funky old shoe.
  8. Ya'll Memphis folks do know that when you go to Top's you can tell'em what kinda meat to put on the bun, right? I only go to Union Ave. and Summer (the second one) when down there where you can watch them chop the meat. I played the funky chunky glob of fat enough times with them. They also has some mighty fine burgers! BigNoise, if you do get your Top's on, and you should, be warned, it's a BBQ place. Sammy's come with slaw and the meat is pig. It ain't no Buddy's, praise be.
  9. This. A bullet seated that deep, regardless of the cause, could cause some serious pressure issues.
  10. So are these actual tax "hikes" or a return to levels before Dubya, when taxes where slashed and spending spiraled out of control (again). Not trying to start a ruckus, am really just wanting to know. Depending on whose voodoo economics you believe, the books were balanced 10 years ago.
  11. AFAIK the only restrictions on felons are from owning guns.
  12. Is it just a shell stuck in the chamber or a live round? Gently prying it out with a small screwdriver, or tip of a pocket knife which is usually all I have handy at the range should do the trick. Even if it's a live round that should not set it off.
  13. CZ 75 compacts come in .40 according to website and there is also the CZ 2075 RAMI.
  14. Is that moccasin original? I think that beast may be an Eastern Hercules Beetle, female.
  15. Good to see you zen and glad you joined up. Next time we'll all be shooting our eurotrash metrics, foreign made and commie surplus guns.
  16. Today, out at the Norris range several of us gathered to get an early start on the 4th by shooting the Guns of Freedom. Unfortunately, during the festivies our own OhSoot took a bullet smack dab in the middle of his forehead. After careful observation it appears that he's ok. Maybe a little better than before.
  17. The XDM makes an excellent home defense weapon. Why not just keep it for that and buy a PF-9 for $300 or less?
  18. I understand know. Always knew Frontier was in Kingston but the Gallaher Rd. threw me. Gallaher View Rd. is West Knoxville.
  19. If that's your first try then you are a master. Nice old Savage heater BTW.
  20. A new year has begun. $40/year ($20 for a day). Lock has been changed, new keys are being issued.
  21. Shooting at Norris on Saturday (American made guns and calibers only ). Then gonna go blow a wad on fireworks. Sunday will be much grilling, partaking of frosty adult beverages and blowing off the fireworks. Might even read the Declaration of Independence at some point.
  22. Or you could just put the bayonet on.
