At least 30+ years old. Dad bought me my 10/22 at K-mart around 1979 in Memphis. About $60 as I recall. At the time Sears still sold guns and ammo. Target also sold ammo & black powder kits. Still have a box 0f 30-30 around here with a Target price tag. J.C. Penny used to compete with Sears in sporting goods and I they may have had some gun stuff in the mid to late 70's. Before that they were a fiarly big retailer.

Comparing Dubya to Obama or vice versa is tantamount to saying you prefer the fragance of one turd over another. AFAIK both are complete failures and combined, have polarized this country and sent our economy into the tank. Dubya was cut taxes and spend, Obama is raise (yet we have to see it) taxes and spend. That's all if I truly believe the President is entirely to blame. Those parties behind them are awfully powerful and self-serving to no end. You cannot win with anyone in Washington anymore.

Do not strip it. Who knows what they'll be worth in 10 or 20 years? More than they are now I can assure you and if it holds its finish all that time it will be worth even more to a discriminating collector.

Ergo, one is no better than the other. Glock makes an excellent pistol up to Gen 3. Now they are having to compete. The past couple of years have been chaos with all this RTF & Gen 4 foolishness.

I think you're on the right track thinking milsurp...but that's just who I am. $500 will buy a bunch of Mosins and alot of ammo...or you could kick in another 50 and check out the nice US M1917 in the classifieds.
