  1. Ever watch Pawn Stars?
  2. All this talk is making me think like it's gonna happen. Now stop it.
  3. Do you mean the gunshow in Knoxville...next weekend on the 16&17th?
  4. Mosin is the cheapest to buy and shoot. Rifles are $100 and ammo is very inexpensive and plentiful. It is also the cheapest made and has the worst action of the 3 you mentioned. Regardless, it is really a fun gun. The Mauser and Enfield are far better made rifles with usually alot of cool markings that you can decipher. Surplus 8mm is still available so ammo is fairly cheap, not as cheap as 7.62.54r, but it's there. There is some surplus .303 available on and off, but don't count on it. Plan on commerical or hand-loads for that. Depending on what kind of K98 you're talking about...early or late war German, Yugoslavian knock-off, Russian capture, etc you could pay anywhere from $200 to over $500 and have either a very smooth or rough gun/action. Enfields have pretty slick actions. From C&R dealers No. 4, Mk 1's are around $250 or so. I refuse to vote as I have all 3.
  5. That scope is supposed to be bore-sighted from the store. You can lay the rifle steady, pull the bolt, then look through barrel then scope at a distant target. That will at least get you in the neighborhood. Start at 50 yards. Run a few shots through and when scope is adjusted move out to 125 yards (what they call 100 yards at Norris). Thought I would be up there Saturday but the UT game is at 12:30. Maybe I'll go Sunday, or very, very early Saturday.
  6. Crunchy - Flamin' Hot
  7. 44 Magnum ammo. Maybe 44 Special on a lazy day.
  8. I have never owned a 700 or 770 but have been studying up on them lately. Gander Mtn has the 700 ADL on sale this week for $399 or the 770 for $299. Both with scopes. If it was me I'd go for the 700 based on the action and trigger. The 770 is a different action, not the classic 700 style. If that's your price range and quality consider that WalMart has Savage 110's for around $384 with scope. Many think very highly of these. Just my opinion based on what I've heard and read up on. Don't own either. All my high-power rifles are mil-surp and I've been curious about something that will put all the bullets in the same hole rather than in a general paper plate sized area.

That's the biggest load of crap I've ever heard. Go buy surplus 7.92x57mm or commercial 8mm Mauser ammo, whatever your preference is, and have fun shooting. If you are really concerned buy some Yugo surplus ammo....http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/600-rds-196-gr-8-mm-mauser-fmj-ammo-with-stripper-clips.aspx?a=520193. Made by Yugoslavians for Yugoslavian guns. Just be aware that all surplus ammo is corrosive. Clean accordingly after use.
  10. Mighty fine looking rifle gun.
  11. There is nothing more I can say that this. ^ Un*******believable.
  12. Good to know. Netflix delivered yesterday.
  13. I'm sorry but failblog fails for me. Good stuff there but a 4:1 ratio of commercials and ads to the tamale really pisses me off and wastes my time.
  14. Rather than worrying about Senators from other States, I would prefer we go back to the old system...when Senators were appointed by the States they represent. It's simple...you elect a goverment to run your state. They send the Senators to DC. Representatives remain elected by the people.
  15. Is Norris open Sunday? Been closed the last week for Bambi killers.
  16. Shortly before you walked into the Shrimp Dock. Hmmm.
  17. Tony Curtis yesterday, Cannell today, who will be next? The law of threes applies to all celebrity deaths.
  18. If ya'll are gonna keep talking about that damnyankee... What Confederate ironclad was left to take on Farraguts's entire fleet at Mobile Bay?
  19. I wouldn't get too excited yet. There are still a whole lot of people here, there and everywhere that associate the GOP with good old-fashioned conservative values. I would not be one of those.
  20. If I knew what an ACH was or an MSA probably still would not want it. Help a brother out here...whatchu talkin' 'bout?
  21. Took me 88 days coupla years ago.
  22. You know it can be done the the nose of a 223/556 FMJ. A slow and somewhat frustrating method but it works in a pinch.
  23. I bet there are more than a few who got a permit thinking it was required to own a handgun.
