  1. Very nice!
  2. We have a winner.
  3. I really don't see the point in those canned hunts anymore as "Pig Bomb" leads me to believe that the beasts are amassing just outside the city limits ready for invasion or might just be sitting at the door step one morning when you are trying to get to work. And people are afraid of Zombies.
  4. I've seen Raspberry colored guns but that don't make it right.
  5. Pink guns are gay. I know they are targeted toward women (or are they?) but guns are not toys and should not come in cutesy colors.
  6. I am a huge fan of movies that involve LA being destroyed in epic ways.
  7. Moon clips are pretty much required in a .45 acp revolver.
  8. If food manufacturers would lay off the HFCS and the ridiculous amounts of sodium put in their products, this country would be much healthier.
  9. It's really not a question of "if" more strict controls are put into place, but of "when".
  10. Great info so far. Keep it coming!
  11. Does this method remove lead and/or copper fouling from the barrel?
  12. How in the hell did anyone figure that out to begin with? It blew my mind.
  13. Now, Now. This ain't Alabama.
  14. Let's just keep it simple. YES, you need a permit to carry a black powder pistol. See how easy that is. Disregard any arcane laws that are on the books. OP, sorry if you feel no one is being helpful but Tennessee has a particularly troublesome, self-serving, pain in the ass who likes to push the evelope regarding the various state and local ordinances concerning the legel possession of loaded firearms. Few, if any, on this forum support his foolishness as it only makes life harder for the rest of us.
  15. Give your chamber a good cleaning. Carbon build-up may be holding the shells.
  16. As true as true can be. Them Ohio rednecks are plum crazy.
  17. Were you using the same brand of ammo during the entire session? 22's in general are notoriously finicky when it comes to ammo.
  18. If you want a made during WWII Mosin get a round receiver. If you want one used in WWII get a hex. The hex is a little cooler looking, might have fancier markings and some say stronger. I assume we're talking 91/30's here and you also asked about P1's and AIM Surplus has both. AIM is an excellent place to order from. P1 is a reallly fun pistol and you cannot beat the price the have on them. Basically, it is an aluminum framed P-38 made after WWII and used by the Bundeswehr. If ordering one from AIM make sure you get hand pick or tell them you want one with the hex-bolt. In the pictures you can see a large pin in the frame just above the trigger between the take-down lever and slide release. These were added in later years to strengthen the alloy frame. I have one but did not get from AIM, bought off another member here before they became C&R.
  19. And it is "near" Knoxville.
  20. I have decided to start loading .45-70 since paying $1.50-$2.00/round just doesn't cut it. Will be loading for a Marlin 1895 with 22" Micro-groove barrel. I have ordered some bullets...405 gr cast (.459 diameter) and 405 gr soft-point jacketed. I know lead can be used in the micro-groove barrel no no ill-effects if loaded correctly. Have not picked up any powder yet. So what are some suggesting for average plinking/range loads? Not planning on doing any hunting, I just like to shoot big, huge cartridges. What would some good load/powder combinations be to 1) prevent excessive fouling using the lead bullets, and 2) use the same powder for both lead and jacketed bullets?
  21. You just gave yourself better advice than anyone else could. Ditch the novelty and carry a proper handgun.
  22. Screws come loose. Happens to all bolt action rifles. Just tighten them up before each session and take a screwdriver to the range.
  23. All #'s matching, fully intact Yugos go for around $300. So with all that other junk, I'd say its a fair price.
  24. I have heard nothing but good things about Swedish Mausers. Have no idea on value, there are better sources for that.
