If it is a "new" one thoroughly clean the cosmo off of it, most importantly the chamber. Take the stock if if you like...be careful taking the front band off so as to not scratch up the handguard. Actually, the cosmo can stay down in the works forever but people make a big deal out of removing it. Clean the chamber out well with some Hoppes and a .45 cal brush. That will help avoid, but may not totally prevent, sticky-bolt. That will go away after numerous shootings/cleanings anyway.

At John Sevier they will let you fire a shotgun on the rifle range but only to pattern the thing. They last time I tried it they made a big production out of having to go setup the steel ring to hold the target.

I truly enjoy seeing legislation like this initiated at the federal level but it also frightens me to no end. IMHO the Yugo M57 is superior. Better sights, longer grip (+1 extra round) and the import-required safety doesn't totally disable the gun....when it's not engaged.
