  1. If the ammo is surplus it is corrosive. Just clean the barrel first with boiling hot water, warm soapy water, Windex or whatever, then clean normally. There is a ton of info here and on the net about that. Make sure you clean the chamber very well of all traces of cosmoline. That will prevent sticky-bolt (which eventually goes away after repeated shootings/cleanings) Shoot with the bayonet attached if it came with one. If shooting at 100 yards start the rear sight out at 200 meters. Enjoy!
  2. Has anyone mentioned the "Wild West" in the comments yet? I refuse to read them anymore.
  3. It's a deal that can't be beat but know this: if you want one by next week don't count on it. They did the same thing around Father's day and it took like a month to deliver...they were slammed. Regardless, they are very nice lowers.

    That's a lotta gun for a mole ain't it?

    Mauser project

+1. Couldn't have said it better myself.
  6. Somebody post up the correction target.
  7. If the carrier was displaying an uffishal handgun carry badge either hanging on a chain around the neck, clipped to the belt or pinned to the chest it would have avoided all this hullabaloo.
  8. It is written in the code. Get thee to WalMart.
  9. Or take a perfectly good Thompson submachine gun and put a bunch of tactical crap on it.
  10. The only redeeming quality that show has is the gun shooting at the end.
  11. IMHO the massive preparations in NYC for Irene is like carrying an umbrella on a cloudy day.
  12. "The Return of the Living Dead". One of the best.
  13. Coming soon to a municipality near you... I pray it doesn't happen in my lifetime, but it will eventually.
  14. FYI for the Knox folks....KPD and the Sheriff are now using this....RAIDS Online - Free Public Crime Mapping and Analysis
  15. Governments do not normally support government control of citizens of other countries and removing those citizens' ability to change that government. At least that's the case for the one we have.
  16. There is a Gus's in East Memphis now. Poplar & Mt. Moriah just south of the tracks. MMMMM.
  17. I have made some almost the exact same way you described. Bought a dehydrator from WalMart several years ago and a beef jerky gun kit that works great. With the jerky gun you use ground beef (96%) lean, mix in the spice packet...then add a little more of this and that, squirt out the meat and dry. Tastes great.
  18. For me the G23 fits perfectly. I'd even go so far as to say it is the best feeling handgun I own other that a 1911. The size difference between it and the 22 is minimal. The 22 is .47 inches longer and .43 inches taller and holds 2 extra rounds. I vote for the 23 as it would be a little easier to carry if you wanted.
  19. I still have a nice little stash.
  20. That sounds mighty fun!
  21. I always wondered how they loaded movie guns.
  22. Looks like a basic Military and Police (Model of 1905, 4th change methinks) with modern grips. Eventually known as the Model 10 after model numbering begin in the '50's.
  23. If you are going to focus on ancient issues then I recommend you do not ever buy Colt or Ruger either. Every major manufacturer has bent over for the government, courts, and/or special interests. S&W has been in the business, as a brand, longer that anyone else...continuously manufacturing handguns since 1852.
  24. Saturday AM? I'm sure there will be more interest there in your excellent 03A3 than at the Expo show last weekend.
