I imagine the mag works as designed. Load the first round, then when loading the second make sure to push its rim against the round already loaded, not letting it overlap. Very common problem with Mosins.

That dovetail scope mount is sheer genius. Of course it kinda makes iron sights not an option if you wanted to easily switch at the range. Antique is actually defined as 1898 or earlier...regular ATF purchasing rules do not apply. C&R status is automatic for anything over 50 years old. If you find a Mosin with an 1898 receiver then nothing more is required then handing over the cash and taking home the rife. Otherwise all Mosins are C&R eligible. If you have the license then you should be able to save $10, based on the seller's mood.
