On a more abstract level the innocent suffer every day due to the actions of the guilty. Every single one of us who have never committed a crime pay the price for those that do. Higher prices to offset losses due to theft, ridiculous and insane laws governing the puchase of cold medicine (an apparently batteries in Kentucky), increased governmental costs and eventual tax increases to enact reactive laws based on the doings of a few, the insane costs of prosecuting and eventually freeing obviously guilty people, etc., etc. No of us are "free" because of the guilty.

That barrrel band does doodly-squat. I don't even know why it's there but it is handy when trying to attach a sling. The single action screw just forward of the magazine holds the thing together.
