  1. Are you stating that the 870's (or whatever model) sold by Wal-Mart actually have different receivers or parts than those purchased anywhere else? That Remington actually has a seperate assembly line just to make Wal-Mart guns that have different enough tolerances to produce a "cheaper" product? I'm sorry but that just doesn't make any sense.
  2. I'm at all this Smith & Wesson goodness!
  3. 1978 A385001-A475000 range was 1977-78 so I'd say that yours is most definitelty '78.
  4. Jan-Aug 1996
  5. 1969-1970 according to the Standard Catalog of S&W.
  6. Hate to break the news but this is as old as the internet (or at least since S&W started using internal locks ) For one thing there is no Chinese 44 magnum ammo. If anything it was a bad handload. Google "44 magnum chinese ammo accident" and it's all over the place.
  7. Wal-Mart only sells factory seconds made in China, regardless of what Remington says. It's a well known fact....it's all over the internet. I've even heard it on this very forum.
  8. Price check in sporting goods.
  9. Congratulations to you, Gordon and Alex! Great way to start a new year.
  10. Maybe the calender worked for them and modern translators are way off.
  11. It does happen and is well documented. Those bullets do not just go on into space or magically disappear when shot up into the air.
  12. It happens at least once a year or more that someone goes to a shooting range in this country, rents a gun, and either offs themselves or someone else. Do you really want to go there?
  13. SOG or SGAMMO 8mm Mauser | SGAmmo.com may be your best bet right now.

    Ruger SR22

Ruger has released a lot of exciting products over the past year or two and every single one has some weirdness about it that will prevent me from ever owning one. Except the 1911 they advertise, but those do not exist. IMHO they should really focus on what they have rather than chasing markets and becoming the American Taurus. BTW, they already have an SR-22.

    Possibly the Marlin Camp Carbine.

You have a valid point there Pie.

    Ruger SR22

I think Ruger has officially run out of ideas.
  18. It means to convert it into a pistol gripped AK. Saiga's have a traditional stock with no pistol grip. The conversion requires moving the the trigger assembly forward and attaching a grip.
  19. Clean the chamber thoroughly with Hoppes, Mineral spirits or whatever. It's the residual cosmoline in there that causes the sticky bolt. My 91/30 used to be bery bad about it but I just kept shooting, cleaning, shooting, cleaning.....it's now quit smooth.
  20. I've found with the LCP, just like a J-frame Smith, not to hold it too tightly. Keep a relaxed grip and accuracy goes way up. But that's just me.
  21. I plan on being there.
  22. Just got back from picking up some delicious beef jerkey. Madhouse. I might have walked right by you and not even noticed as I was busy trying not to get run over. Did see a Ruger LCP "Z" Zombie Slayer which was pretty cool but not that cool at $389.
  23. The wiki article is accurate from what I can tell. It also links to a run down on the 59 which was developed from the 39. Smith & Wesson Model 39 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  24. Smith 39's are great pistols with an interesting history. If I recall correctly they were the first American-made double-action semi-auto's, as well as the first domestically produced 9mm handgun. All that on an aluminum frame....with a blued finish to match the steel slide and gorgeous wood grips. It's a classic and the forerunner of all the S&W semi's made now. I had to check the safe after seeing the pics posted. My first centerfire handgun is still tucked nicely away it it's box.
