  1. IMHO, the Savage is the best out of the box for accuracy and trigger. It would be the best choice for serious target shooting. The 10/22 is probably more fun for general plinking due to the semi-autoness of it. It is also very light and handy. It also has the largest after-market if you want to make some modifications in the future. The wz78, a Polish training rifle with AK style sights, is a neat rifle and fairly accurate from what I understand but those sights might not be the best for a .22. I would also be concernced about magazine availability for them.
  2. Whatchu talkin' 'bout mav?
  3. Who did you vote for in the Presidential primary? Your name name is not associated with your choice, so please be honest. It's really just for amusement.
  4. 10mm is just a 40 Magnum.
  5. There might be some twisted satisfaction in walking out the door. "Oh, by the way, you could have made $100 off that rifle instead of just $25 for a transfer if bubble boy over there cared anything about your customers."
  6. What does the Lebanon Gun Shop charge for transfers?
  7. The mighty 40 reigns supreme.
  8. Might be easier to order from JoeBob with free shipping and 5% "TGO" (that's the coupon code) discount: http://www.joebobout.../gun-811036.htm Then find a reasonable FFL to handle the transfer.
  9. Well did you ask to see it or just stand there waiting to be served?
  10. Take the wood off.
  11. Google around for electrolysis rust removal. It is very simple to do with just a few supplies.
  12. Their dies are excellent. Great value. I have no experience with the presses or other stuff.
  13. I'm kinda winging it here so, as I recall from about 20 years ago, the following is what happened. The Knoxville Police department had just started using Glock pistols. Maybe G17's but they definitely use G22's now. Anyway, an officer ended up shooting someone, who was already subdued and essentially prone, in the head. Killed her. It all started as a relatively minor incident to begin with. This lead to that and that lead to the other. The question of Glock safety or lack thereof became a hot topic. There was a trial. I believe it may have been the first trial in which a gun manufacturer was sued. Gaston himself was subpoenaed and appeared in a Knoxville courtroom. I believe it was actually a civil suit brought by the victim's family. That is how I loosely remember it. I believe the book will tell the whole tale much better.
  14. Glock is a business. Nothing more, nothing less. Just like any other there are skeletons in the closet, unsavory practices and people involved that would make most with any decent morals or sense of "right" cringe. I'm glad to hear they covered the Knoxville incident. It's not easy finding information on that as it happened in the early '90's, more or less pre-internet. Have yet to read the book but am looking forward to it at some point.
  15. You will also need reloading dies for your caliber of choice, otherwise that kit is adequate for getting started.
  16. i can't what to see what CTD's prices look like in about 8 months.
  17. I don't think that upper has a bolt, carrier & charging handle? So add maybe $115 for the BCG.
  18. What good is a zombie that can't rip you apart? They'd be rather boring otherwise.
  19. If by any chance you are loading for a Marlin with Micro-groove rifling keep and eye out for leading. You may want to work up a few different charges to find the best performance without excessive lead buildup.
  20. ...that's what AR's are for.
  21. A marginal, perhaps substantial increase in accuracy, depending on the platform. A true free float tube is mounted to the upper receiver leaving the barrel free of any stress.
  22. My question remains. Why would one want to do a wildcard search?
  23. Why do you want to know? Trying to get the whole list?
  24. That is just about the weakest argument I've ever heard for gun control.
  25. Thanks for the update and am planning on the 17th. I've been hoping all week and especially today that the weather guys were wrong as usual, but there's more storm moving in right now.
